The highly selective hydrogenation of 5-hydroxymethylfurfural to 2,5-dihydroxymethylfuran is an important reaction in the field of biomass hydrogenation,because it is a bridge between biomass resources and chemical ***,we precisely constructed carbon nitride supported Pd-based catalysts by a simple impregnation-reduction *** changing the reduction temperature,catalysts with different oxidation state could be precisely ***,the important correlation between the ratio of Pd^(0)/Pd^(2+)and catalytic activity is revealed during the selective hydrogenation of *** Pd/g—c_(3)N_(4)—300 catalyst with a Pd^(0)/Pd^(2+)ratio of 3/2 showed the highest catalytic activity,which could get 96.9%5-hydroxymethylfurfural conversion and 90.3%2,5-dihydroxymethylfuran *** density functional theory calculation revealed that the synergistic effect between Pd0and Pd2+in Pd/g—c_(3)N_(4)—300 system could boost the adsorption of the substrate and the dissociation of *** this work,we highlight the important correlation between metal oxidation state and catalytic activity,which provides valuable insights for the rational design of precious metal catalysts for hydrogenation reactions.

The development of efficient single-atom catalysts(SAcs) for the oxygen reduction reaction(ORR)remains a formidable challenge,primarily due to the symmetric charge distribution of metal singleatom sites(M-N_(4)).To address such issue,herein,Fe-N_(x) sites coupled synergistic catalysts fabrication strategy is presented to break the uniform electronic distribution,thus enhancing the intrinsic catalytic ***,atomically dispersed Fe-N_(x) sites supported on N/S-doped mesoporous carbon(NSc)coupled with FeS@c core-shell nanoparticles(FAS-NSc@950) is synthesized by a facile hydrothermal reaction and subsequent *** to the presence of an in situ-grown conductive graphitic layer(shell),the FeS nanoparticles(core) effectively adjust the electronic structure of single-atom Fe sites and facilitate the ORR kinetics via short/long-range coupling ***,FAS-NSc@950displays a more positive half-wave potential(E_(1/2)) of 0.871 V with a significantly boosted ORR kinetics(Tafel slope=52.2 mV dec^(-1)),outpacing the commercial Pt/c(E_(1/2)=0.84 V and Tafel slope=54.6 mV dec^(-1)).As a bifunctional electrocatalyst,it displays a smaller bifunctional activity parameter(ΔE) of 0.673 V,surpassing the Pt/c-RuO_(2) combination(ΔE=0.724 V).Besides,the FAS-NSc@950-based zincair battery(ZAB) displays superior power density,specific capacity,and long-term cycling performance to the Pt/c-Ir/c-based *** work significantly contributes to the field by offering a promising strategy to enhance the catalytic activity of SAcs for ORR,with potential implications for energy conversion and storage technologies.

A highly sensitive light-induced thermoelectric spectroscopy(LITES)sensor based on a multi-pass cell(MPc)with dense spot pattern and a novel quartz tuning fork(QTF)with low resonance frequency is reported in this *** erbi-um-doped fiber amplifier(EDFA)was employed to amplify the output optical power so that the signal level was further *** optical path length(OPL)and the ratio of optical path length to volume(RLV)of the MPc is 37.7 m and 13.8 cm^(-2),respectively.A commercial QTF and a self-designed trapezoidal-tip QTF with low frequency of 9461.83 Hz were used as the detectors of the sensor,*** target gas selected to test the performance of the system was acetylene(c2H2).When the optical power was constant at 1000 mW,the minimum detection limit(MDL)of the c2H2-LITES sensor can be achieved 48.3 ppb when using the commercial QTF and 24.6 ppb when using the trapezoid-al-tip *** improvement of the detection performance by a factor of 1.96 was achieved after replacing the commer-cial QTF with the trapezoidal-tip QTF.

TiO_(2)has been explored in hybrid magnesium-lithium batteries(HMLBs)due to the advantages of low self-discharge and small volume expansion during ion ***,how to improve the inherently low ionic and electrical conductivity of TiO_(2)is the problem that needs to be *** this work,a smart strategy is adopted to prepare cobalt-doped TiO_(2)@c(co^(4+)-TiO_(2)@c)hierarchical nanocomposite derived from co(II)(OH)n@*** with TiO_(2)@c(without cobalt doping),co^(4+)-TiO_(2)@c shows the highest specific capacity(154.7 mah·g^(-1)at 0.1 A·g^(-1)after 200 cycles)and extraordinary rate performance in *** excellent electrochemical performance of co4+-TiO_(2)@c is ascribed to the synergistic effect of the hierarchical structure and *** experimental results and density functional theory(DFT)calculation reveal that the cobalt-doping has effectively improved the electronic conductivity and reduced the Li+migration *** work provides a new insight to design TiO_(2)-based cathode materials with high-performance in HMLBs.

A stable,efficient,and economical bifunctional electrolytic catalyst would be incredibly beneficial for the development of hydrogen production by electrocatalytic water *** this study,we synthesized a novel MnS–MnO heterogeneous nanocube@N,S-doped carbon(MnS–MnO@NSc).MnS–MnO nanocubes possess rich heterogeneous interfaces and plentiful catalytic active sites to promote electrochemical reactions,while the N,S-doped carbon shell possesses excellent conductivity and catalytic properties and protects the ***–MnO@NSc exhibited excellent electrochemical properties as an effective bifunctional electrocatalyst for the hydrogen evolution reaction(HER)and oxygen evolution reaction(OER)in KOH *** the HER,the overpotential was as low as 124 mV at a current density of 10 ma·cm^(-2)while in the OER,it was only 340 mV at 100 ma·cm^(-2)under the same *** addition,a MnS–MnO@NSc||MnS–MnO@NSc electrolyzer exhibited almost comparable activity and higher steadiness than those exhibited by the state-of-the-art Pt/c||RuO_(2)/c system for full water splitting in KOH solution.

Promoting the oxygen reduction reaction(ORR)is critical for commercialization of intermediate-temperature solid oxide fuel cells(IT-SOFcs),where Sr_(2)Fe_(1.5)Mo_(0.5)O_(6)−δ(SFM)is a promising cathode by working as a mixed ionic and electronic *** this work,doping of In^(3+)greatly increases the oxygen vacancy concentration and the content of adsorbed oxygen species in Sr_(2)Fe_(1.5)Mo_(0.5−x)InxO_(6−δ)(SFMInx),and thus effectively promotes the ORR *** a typical example,SFMIn_(0.1)reduces the polarization resistance(R_(p))from 0.089 to 0.046Ω∙cm^(2)at 800°c,which is superior to those doped with other metal *** addition,SFMIn0.1 increases the peak power density from 0.92 to 1.47 W∙cm^(−2)at 800°c with humidified H_(2)as the fuel,indicating that In3+doping at the Mo site can effectively improve the performance of SOFc cathode material.

NaBH_(4) was widely regarded as a low-cost hydrogen storage material due to its high-mass hydrogen capacity of approximately 10.8%(mass)and high volumetric hydrogen capacity of around 115 g·L^(–1).However,it exhibits strong stability and requires temperatures above 500℃ for hydrogen release in practical *** this study,two polyhydric alcohols,xylitol and erythritol(XE),were prepared as a binary eutectic sugar alcohol through a grinding-melting *** binary eutectic sugar alcohol was used as a proton-hydrogen carrier to destabilize NaBH_(4).The 19NaBH_(4)-16XE composite material prepared by ball milling could start releasing hydrogen at 57.5℃,and the total hydrogen release can reach over 88.8%(4.45%(mass))of the theoretical *** the 19NaBH_(4)-16XE composite was pressed into solid blocks,the volumetric hydrogen capacity of the block-shaped composite could reach 67.2 g·L^(–1).By controlling the temperature,the hydrogen desorption capacity of the NaBH_(4)-XE composite material was controllable,which has great potential for achieving solid-state hydrogen production from NaBH_(4).

Rechargeable Li-S batteries(LSBs)are emerging as an important alternative to lithium-ion batteries(LIBs),owing to their high energy densities and low cost;yet sluggish redox kinetics of LiPSs results in inferior cycle ***,we prepared multifunctional self-supporting hyphae carbon nanobelt(HcNB)as hosts by carbonization of hyphae balls of Rhizopus,which could increase the S loading of the cathode without sacrificing reaction *** platinum(Pt)nanoparticles were introduced into HcNBs(PtHcNBs)by ion-beam sputtering *** on the X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy analyses,the introduced trace Pt regulated the local electronic states of heteroatoms in *** kinetics investigation combined with operando Raman measurements revealed the accelerated reaction mechanics of sulfur *** from the synergistic catalytic effect and the unique structures,the as-prepared PtHcNB/MWNcT/S cathodes delivered a stable capacity retention of 77%for 400 cycles at 0.5 c with a sulfur loading of 4.6 mg cm^(-2).More importantly,remarkable cycling performance was achieved with an high areal S loading of 7.6 mg cm^(-2).This finding offers a new strategy to prolong the cycle life of LSBs.
