The onset of the movement of particles placed on a horizontal rough surface subject to a vertical sinusoidal vibration is investigated through tracking experiments,theoretical analysis,and numerical simulations. The frequency of vibration needed to move particles decays exponentially with the amplitude of the oscillatory *** behavior is explained through a simple mechanism in which a forced damped harmonic oscillator with a spring constant represents all the interactions between the particle and the *** numerical results compare well with experimental data,demonstrating that the forces included in the numerical calculations suitably account for the main particle response,even though the complexity of the surface is not fully taken into *** the way in which frequency varies with amplitude could be relevant to technological applications such as cleaning of material surfaces.

Chromium and/or arsenate removal by Fe（Ⅱ） as a function of pH, Fe（Ⅱ） dosage and initial Cr（Ⅵ）/As（Ⅴ） ratio were examined in batch tests. The presence of arsenate reduced the removal efficiency of chromium by Fe（Ⅱ）, while the presence of chromate significantly increased the removal efficiency of arsenate by Fe（Ⅱ） at pH 6-8, In the absence of arsenate, chromium removal by Fe（Ⅱ） increased to a maximum with increasing pH from 4 to 7 and then decreased with a further increase in pH. The increment in Fe（Ⅱ） dosage resulted in an improvement in chromium removal and the improvement was more remarkable under alkaline conditions than that under acidic conditions. Chromium removal by Fe（Ⅱ） was reduced to a larger extent under neutral and alkaline conditions than that under acidic conditions due to the presence of 10 μtmol/L arsenate. The presence of 20 μmol/L arsenate slightly improved chromium removal by Fe（Ⅱ） at pH 3.9-5,8, but had detrimental effects at pH 6.7-9.8. Arsenate removal was improved significantly at pH 4-9 due to the presence of 10μmol/L chromate at Fe（Ⅱ） dosages of 20-60 μmol/L. Elevating the chromate concentration from 10 to 20μmol/L resulted in a further improvement in arsenate removal at pH 4.0-4.6 when Fe（Ⅱ） was dosed at 30-60 μmol/L.

The objective of this work was to evaluate the sensitivity of three different satellite signals (interferometric coherence (γ), backscattering coefficient (σ0) and NDVI) to corn biophysical parameters (leaf area index, height, biomass and water content) throughout its entire vegetation cycle. All of the satellite and in situ data were collected during the Multi-spectral Crop Monitoring (MCM’10) experiment conducted in 2010 by the CESBio laboratory over eight different agricultural sites located in southwestern France. The results demonstrated that the NDVI is well adapted for leaf area index monitoring, whereas γ27.3° is much more suited to the estima.ion of the three other Biophysical Parameters throughout the entire crop cycle, with a coefficient of determination ranging from 0.83 to 0.99, using non-linear relationships. Moreover, contrary to the use of the NDVI or backscattering coefficients, the use of coherence exhibited a low sensitivity to the changes in vegetation and soil moisture occurring during senescence, offering interesting perspectives in the domain of applied remote sensing

Coupling nano-emitters to plasmonic antennas is a key milestone for the development of nanoscale quantum light *** challenge,however,is the precise nanoscale positioning of the emitter in the ***,we present a laser etching protocol that deterministically positions a single colloidal CdSe/CdS core/shell quantum dot emitter inside a subwavelength plasmonic patch antenna with three-dimensional nanoscale *** exploiting the properties of metal–insulator–metal structures at the nanoscale,the fabricated single-emitter antenna exhibits a very high-Purcell factor(>72)and a brightness enhancement of a factor of *** to the unprecedented quenching of Auger processes and the strong acceleration of the multiexciton emission,more than 4 photons per pulse can be emitted by a single quantum dot,thus increasing the device *** technology can be applied to a wide range of photonic nanostructures and emitters,paving the way for scalable and reliable fabrication of ultracompact light sources.

Purpose:This study aimed to examine the associations of accelerometer-derived steps volume and intensity with hospitalizations and all-cause mortality in older ***:This prospective cohort study involved 768 community-dwelling Spanish older adults(78.8±4.9 years,mean±SD;53.9% females)from the Toledo Study for Healthy Aging(2012-2017).The number of steps per day and step cadence(steps/min) were derived from a hip-mounted accelerometer worn for at least 4 days at *** were followed-up over a mean period of 3.1 years for hospitalization and 5.7 years for all-cause *** proportional hazards regression models were used to estimate the individual and joint associations between daily steps and stepping intensity with hospitalizations and all-cause ***:Included participants walked 5835± 3445 steps/day with an intensity of 7.3± 4.1 steps/*** adjusting for age,sex,body mass index(BMI),education,income,marital status and comorbidities,higher step count(hazard ratio(HR)=0.95,95% confidence interval(95%CI:0.90-1.00,and HR=0.87,95%CI:0.81-0.95 per additional 1000 steps) and higher step intensity(HR=0.95,95%CI:0.91-0.99,and HR=0.89,95%CI:0.84-0.95 per each additional step/min) were associated with fewer hospitalizations and all-cause mortality risk,*** to the group having low step volume and intensity,individuals in the group having high step volume and intensity had a lower risk of hospitalization(HR=0.72,95%CI:0.52-0.98) and all-cause mortality(HR=0.60,95%CI:0.37-0.98).Conclusion:Among older adults,both high step volume and step intensity were significantly associated with lower hospitalization and all-cause mortality *** step volume and intensity may benefit older people.

Objectives:To test hypothesized associations between the ABO blood group(ABO-bg)system and the pathological features of prostate cancer(PCa).material and methods:Between January 2013 and September 2019,1173 patients underwent radical *** between ABO-bg levels and pathological features were evaluated using statistical ***:Overall,1149 consecutive patients were evaluated using the ABO-bg system,which was represented by O-bg(42.8%)and A-bg(41.3%),followed by B-bg(11.1%)and AB-bg(4.8%).Only positive surgical margins(PSMs)was correlated with ABO-bg(Pearson correlation coefficient,r=0.071;p=0.017),and the risk was increased in group-O(odds ratio[OR],1.497;95%confidence interval,1.149-1.950;p=0.003)versus *** clinical and pathological models,O-bg was at increased risk of PSM after the adjustment for prostate-specific antigen,percentage of biopsy-positive cores,and high surgical volume(adjusted OR,1.546;95%confidence interval,1.180-2.026;p=0.002);however,the adjusted OR did not change after the adjustment for tumor load and stage as well as high surgical ***:In clinical PCa,the risk of PSM was higher in O-bg versus non-O-bg patients after the adjustment for standard *** studies are needed to confirm the association between ABO-bg and unfavorable PCa features.

Factors associated with post-pancreaticoduodenectomy hemorrhage： 303 consecutive cases analysis

Background Because of the complexity and severity of the surgery and its associated complications, pancreaticoduodenectomy （PD） is associated with significant morbidity and mortality, especially the hemorrhage post-PD. Exploring the factors associated with post-PD hemorrhage is very important for the patients’ safety.Methods Clinical data from 303 cases of PD between January 1998 and December 2008 were analyzed retrospectively.Results The overall mortality rate was 4.95% （15/303）. However, post-operative bleeding occurred in 25 patients （8.25%） with nine episodes resulting in death （36.00%）. Univariate analysis was performed and identified tumor size, Child’s classification, total pancreatic uncinatic process resection, and pancreatic leakage as significant risk factors for post-PD hemorrhage. In the severe hemorrhage group, incomplete resection of uncinate process of pancreas and pancreatic leakage were the main causes. The multivariate Logistic regression analysis revealed that each of these variables is an independent risk factor.Conclusions Primary prevention of bleeding complications depends on total pancreatic uncinatic process resection and meticulous hemostatic techniques during surgery. In addition, several peri-operative factors were found to contribute to post-PD bleeding.
