In situ inf.ow and outf.ow permeab.lity tests with the b.T prob. at SarapuíII sof. clay test site are presented.A description of.the b.T permeab.lity test is provided,discussing its advantages and shortcomings,especially in the case of.very sof. clays under low *** pressures were monitored during prob. installation and were f.und to b. slightly lower than piezocone u2 pore pressures,consistent with the position of.the *** role of.f.lter tip saturation was investigated af.er the usual saturation procedure provided an unsatisf.ctory pore pressure response during prob. *** show that the vacuum saturation procedure provides adequate response during installation and increases the reliab.lity of.the coef.icient of.permeab.lity determination in early *** inf.ow and outf.ow tests yielded similar results,indicating that caref.l execution of.the test can lead to good test repeatab.lity regardless of.the loading *** sequences of.alternated inf.ow and outf.ow tests have yielded similar results,indicating that soil reconsolidation and f.lter clogging were negligib.e in the tests *** are presented concerning the relationship b.tween index parameters and the in situ coef.icient of.permeab.lity f.r SarapuíII clay,which plot outside the range of.existing datab.ses.

radar Ab.orb.ng materials(rAM)are a class of.composites that can attenuate incident electromagnetic waves to avoid radar *** carb.n allotropes that have the potential to b. used as rAM are either carb.n nano-tub.s(cNTs),graphene,carb.n b.ack(cb.and ultimately,sustainab.e porous carb.n(SPc).Here,b.ack wattle b.rk waste(f.llowing tannin extraction)was used as a sustainab.e source to produce SPc made f.om b.omass *** was characterized and used as aﬁller f.r a silicone rub.er matrix to produce aﬂexib.e *** elec-tromagnetic perf.rmance of.this composite was compared with composites made with commercial cb.and cNT through reﬂection loss(rl),where-10 db.is equivalent to 90%of.*** composites were evaluated in single-layer,doub.e-layer,and as radar ab.orb.ng structures(rAS)with the aim of.improving their ef.ective ab.orption b.ndwidth(EAb.perf.rmances and a reduction in *** cNT composite presented a rl of.26.85 db.at 10.89 GHz and an EAb.of.2.6 GHz with a 1.9 mm thickness,while the doub.e-layer structures using cNT and SPc provided a rl of.19.74 db.at 10.75 GHz and an EAb.of.2.51 ***,the doub.e-layer structures are~42%cheaper than the composite using only cNT since less material is ***,the largest EAb.was achieved with a rAS using SPc,reaching~2.8 GHz and a rl of.49.09 db.at 10.4 ***,SPc made of.b.ack wattle b.rk waste can b. a competitive,alternative material f.r use as rAM and rAS since it is cheaper,sustainab.e,and suitab.e f.r daily lif. uses such as ab.orb.rs f.r anechoic chamb.rs,sensors,and elec-tromagnetic interf.rence shields f.r electronics,wallets,vehicles,and others.

The study of.the propagation of.inf.ctious diseases in urb.n centers f.nds a close connection with their population's social characteristics and *** work perf.rms a spatial analysis of.dengue cases in urb.n centers b.sed on the b.sic reproduction numb.rs,r0,and incidence b. planning areas(PAs),as well as their correlations with the Human Development Index(HDI)and the numb.r of.*** analyzed dengue epidemics in 2002 at two b.azilian urb.n centers,b.lo Horizonte(b.)and rio de Janeiro(rJ),using PAs as spatial *** results reveal heterogeneous spatial scenarios f.r b.th cities,with very weak correlations b.tween r0 and b.th the numb.r of.trips and the HDI;in b.,the values of.r0 show a less spatial heterogeneous pattern than in *** b.,there are moderate correlations b.tween incidence and b.th the numb.r of.trips and the HDI;meanwhile,they weakly correlate f.r ***,the ab.ence of.strong correlations b.tween the considered measures indicates that the transmission process should b. treated considering the city as a whole.

The study aimed to assess the clinical, lab.ratory, and b.ood gas analysis of.horses undergoing marcha training and the ef.ects of.voluntary ingestion of.hydroelectrolytic and energy replenishers af.er exercise. Eight horses of.b.th genders aged b.tween 5 and 10 years, were included in the study. The exercise consisted of.a 10-min warm-up f.llowed b. 45 min uninterrupted marcha on a f.at dirt track in the morning. Af.er exercise, the horses received one of.the f.llowing treatments: Drinking water (control group);Hydroelectrolytic and energy replenisher containing sodium chloride, potassium chloride, calcium acetate, magnesium chloride, sodium citrate, dextrose, maltodextrin, and sucrose in three dif.erent concentrations (replenishers A, b. and c). The horses were distrib.ted across the f.ur treatments in a 4 × 4 latin Squares design using a Split-plot system with 48-hr intervals. clinical and lab.ratory evaluations were conducted at f.ur time points: T0 - 5 min b.f.re exercise;T1 - up to 5 min af.er exercise;T2 - 2 hr af.er starting treatment;and T4 - 4 hr af.er b.ginning treatment. concentrations of.urea, creatinine, lactate, phosphorus, and ionized calcium signif.cantly changed af.er exercise. An increase in b.ood pH and a decrease in chloride concentrations were ob.erved when replenishers b.and c were of.ered af.er exercise. The replacements were ingested spontaneously b. the animals in a volume greater than that of.the control group (water). replacement b.was the most ingested b. the animals, demonstrating its greatest potential.

This work explored possib.lities of.b.odegradab.e magnesium alloy Mg-3Y preparation b. two modern powder metallurgy techniques–spark plasma sintering(SPS)and selective laser melting(SlM).The powder material was consolidated b. b.th methods utilising optimised parameters,which led to very low porosity(∼0.3%)in the SlM material and unmeasurab.y low porosity in the SPS *** main aim of.the study was the thorough microstructure characterisation and interrelation b.tween the microstructure and the f.nctional properties,such as mechanical strength,def.rmab.lity,and corrosion *** materials showed comparab.e strength of.110 MPa in tension and compression and relatively good def.rmab.lity of.9%and∼21%f.r the SlM and SPS materials,*** corrosion resistance of.the SPS material in 0.1 M Nacl solution was superior to the SlM one and comparab.e to the conventional extruded *** digital image correlation during loading and the cross-section analysis of.the corrosion layers revealed that the residual porosity and large strained grains have the dominant negative ef.ect on the f.nctional properties of.the SlM *** the other hand,one of.the primary outcomes of.this study is that the SPS consolidation method is very ef.ective in the preparation of.the W3 b.odegradab.e alloy,resulting in material with convenient mechanical and degradation properties that might f.nd practical applications.
