“Cutting effect” of organoclay platelets in compatibilizing immiscible polypropylene/polystyrene blends

In this work, polypropylene (PP)/polystyrene (PS) blends with different organoclay concentrations were prepared via melt compounding. Differing from the results of previous reports, the organoclay platelets are mostly located in the dispersed PS phase instead of the interface. The dimensions of the dispersed PS droplets are greatly reduced and apparent compatibilization effect still exists, which cannot be explained by the traditional compatibilization mechanism. A novel compatibilization mecha- nism, "cutting" to apparently compatibilize the immiscible PP/PS blends was proposed. The organoclay platelets tend to form a special "knife-like structure" in the PS domain under the shear stress of the continuous PP phase during compounding. The "clay knife" can split the dispersed PS domain apart and lead to the dramatic reduction of the dispersed domain size.

Solvent annealing is a facile method for changing the aggregated microstructure and physical properties of polymer materials. In this paper, we addressed the effects of solvent vapor annealing, including chloroform and water vapor, on the polymorphic transformation in both hot-pressed film and electrospun nonwoven of isotactic polybutene-1 （PB-1） by means of in situ Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy （FTIR）. The pretty rapid transition rate caused by the increased motion of molecular chains under chloroform vapor is associated with a lowest crystallinity. Also, a decreased crystallinity with the crystal transition occurred in electrospun nonwovens resulting from the relaxation of the stretched molecular chains into amorphous state rather than realignment into crystal form I predominating the crystal transition process.

In this paper, a novel model is proposed to investigate the neutron transport in scattering and absorbing medium. This solution to the linear Boltzmann equation is expanded from the idea of lattice Boltzmann method(LBm) with the collision and streaming process. The theoretical derivation of lattice Boltzmann model for transient neutron transport problem is proposed for the first *** fully implicit backward difference scheme is used to ensure the numerical stability, and relaxation time and equilibrium particle distribution function are obtained. To validate the new lattice Boltzmann model, the LBm formulation is tested for a homogenous media with different sources, and both transient and steady-state LBm results get a good agreement with the benchmark solutions.

Ulva prolifera is the causative species of the annually occurring large-scale green tides in China since *** specific biological features on reproductivity strategies,as well as intra-species genetic diversity,are still largely unknown,especially at the genome level,despite their importance in understanding the formation and outbreak of massive green *** the present study,the restriction site-associated DNA genotyping approach(2b-RAD)was adopted to identify the genome-wide single-nucleotide polymorphisms(SNPs)of 54 individual thalli including samples collected from Subei Shoal in 2019 and Qingdao coast from 2019 to *** genotype results revealed that most of the thalli in 2019 and 2020 were haploid gametophytes,while only half of the thalli were gametophytes in 2021,indicating flexibility in the reproductive strategies for the formation of the green tides among different years and the dominance of asexual and vegetative reproductive mode for the floating ***,population analysis was conducted,and it revealed a very low genetic diversity among samples from Subei Shoal and the Qingdao coast in the same year and a higher divergence among samples in different *** results showed the efficiency of 2b-RAD in the exploration of SNPs in *** and provided the first genome-wide scale evidence for the origin of the large-scale green tides on the Qingdao *** study improved our understanding of the reproductive strategy and genetic diversity of the green tide causative species and will help further reveal the biological causes of the green tide in China.

The development of rural area in suburban(RAS)is comprehensively influenced by the mixed processes of non-farming,local urbanization and rural industrialization and has distinctive multifunctional features on the socioeconomic and resource *** reconstruction in the RAS is mainly manifested by changes in the quantity and structure of the construction land use(CLU).We took Tongshan District of Jiangsu Province as the study *** the logic of identifying,clustering,and diagnosing,we assessed the functional features of CLU and analyzed the differentiation of the scale and structure of CLU in RAS,with the aim of identifying the types and characteristics of multifunctional development in these *** study found that:1)typical RAS were experiencing multifunctional space reconstruction,and their multifunctional value was emerging and *** CLU was rapidly expanding,and the types of CLU were evolving from single to multiple uses;2)based on the dominant function of diverse rural CLU,we classified RAS into five types,dominated by the following functions,respectively:commercial services,industrial production,residential living,basic support and public service;3)according to the dominant function and spatial pattern,the development types of RAS were classified into agricultural service,comprehensive services,and integrated industries service,showing a circular spatial pattern from the suburbs to distant *** results can provide policy implication by creating new development impetus from rural multifunction perspective to promote the RAS revitalization.

Smart manufacturing still remains critical challenges for pharmaceutical ***,an original data-driven engineering framework was proposed to tackle the ***,from sporadic indicators to five kinds of systematic quality characteristics,nearly 2,000,000 real-world data points were successively characterized from Ginkgo Folium tablet ***,from simplex to the multivariate system,the digital process capability diagnosis strategy was proposed by multivariate C_(pk)integrated *** C_(pk)of Ginkgo Folium extracts,granules,and tablets were discovered,which was 0.59,0.42,and 0.78,respectively,indicating a relatively weak process capability,especially in ***,the quality traceability was discovered from unit to end-to-end analysis,which decreased from 2.17 to *** further proved that attention should be paid to granulating to improve the quality *** conclusion,this paper provided a data-driven engineering strategy empowering industrial innovation to face the challenge of smart pharmaceutical manufacturing.

It is of great significance to study the spatial distribution patterns and petrophysical complexity of volcanic vesicles which determine whether the reservoir spaces of the volcanic rocks can accumulate oil and gas and enrich high yields or *** this paper,the digital images of three different textures of vesicular andesite samples,including spherical vesicular andesite,shear deformation vesicular andesite,and secondary filling vesicular andesite,are obtained by microscopic morphology X-CT imaging *** spatial micro-vesicle heterogeneity of vesicular andesite samples with different textures is quantitatively analyzed by fractal and multifractal methods such as box-counting dimension and the moment *** is found that the shear stress weakens the spatial homogeneity since vesicles rupture are accelerated,elongated directionally,and connected with one another under the strain;the secondary filling breaks the vesicles,which significantly enhances the spatial *** addition,shear stress and secondary filling increase the complexity of vesicle microstructures characterized by different fractal and multifractal *** conclusions will provide important theoretical and practical insights into understanding the degassing of volcanic rocks and prediction of high-quality volcanic reservoirs.

Effects of Alloy Element and microstructure on Corrosion Resistant Property of Deposited metals of Weathering Steel

Alloy element and microstructure are key factors that dominate mechanical and corrosion resistant properties of weathering steel. The effect of mo on microstructure, mechanical properties and corrosion resistant property of depos ited metal was investigated. Experimental results show that with the increase of mo content in deposited metals, the phase transformation temperature decreases, and the ferrite zone in CCT diagram moves rightward, resulting in en larged bainite zone and reduced ferrite and pearlite zone. The addition of 0.24 mass% mo in deposited metal results in the increase of tensile strength, more m-A constituent and less high angle grain which reduce the low temperature toughness. It is found that mo can raise the weathering resistance of deposited metal in industrial atmosphere. Analy sis indicates that mo may enrich in the inner rust layer, produce moO3, enhance the formation of compact rust film and impede the anode dissolution reaction. Granular bainite in deposited metals displays better corrosion resistance than acicular ferrite during the initial corrosion stage, but its long-term influence on the corrosion resistance is limited.
