Fabric-based composites with superior mechanical properties and excellent perceptive function are highly ***,it rema.ns a huge challenge to attain structure-function integration,especially for hybrid fabric ***,a skin-inspired interface modification strategy is proposed toward this target by constructing a hybrid sma.t fabric system consisting of two types of sma.t fabrics:carbon nanotube(CnT)/MXene-modified aramid fabrics and zinc oxide nanorod(ZnO nR)-modified carbon *** on that,flexible piezoelectric pressure sensors with skin-like hierarchical perception interfaces are fabricated,which demonstrate superb sensitivity of 2.39 V·kPa^(-1)and are capable of various wearable monitoring ***,the interface-modified hybrid fabric reinforced plastics can also be fabricated,which are proven to possess 13.6%higher tensile strength,10.1%elastic *** impressively,their average energy absorption can be improved by 111.9%,accompanied with inherent dama.e alert *** offers a paradigm to fabricate structure-function integrated hybrid sma.t fabric composites for the sma.t clothing and intelligent aerial vehicles.

The effects of ultrafine WC(WC_(UF),0.5μm) or W(1μm) and C(0.3μm)(W+C)_(UF) additives on the densification,microstructure and mechanical properties of coarse-grained cemented carbides were compared ***,the cemented carbides with WC_(UF)/(W+C)_(UF) additives are almost fully densification to be higher than 99%,and the average grain size is kept above 2.8μ*** WC_(UF) additive assists grains to(truncated)trigonal prism shape by two dimensional(2D) growth,whereas the(W+C)_(UF) additive assists grains to rounded shape by three dimensional(3D) growth,lowers WC contiguity and increases face-centered-cubic *** hardness and bending strength of(75WC_(C)-15WC_(UF))-10co are 86.6 HRA and 2 272 MPa,respectively,both higher than those of(75WC_(C)-15(W+C)_(UF))-10co,which could be ascribed to the enhanced densification and unblemished ***,the fracture toughness of the(75WC_(C)-15(W+C)_(UF))-10co is 23.5 MPa·m^(1/2),higher than that of the(75WC_(C)-15WC_(UF))-10co due to the uniform WC-co structure and flexible binder phase.

The electrochemical co_(2) reduction reaction(co_(2)RR) to controllable chemicals is considered as a promising pathway to store intermittent renewable energy. Herein, a set of catalysts based on copper-nitrogendoped carbon xerogel(Cu-n-C) are successfully developed varying the copper amount and the nature of the copper precursor, for the efficient co_(2)RR. The electrocatalytic performa.ce of Cu-n-C ma.erials is assessed by a rotating ring-disc electrode(RRde), technique still rarely explored for co_(2)RR. For comparison, products are also characterized by online gas chroma.ography in a H-cell. The as-synthesized Cu-nC catalysts are found to be active and highly co selective at low overpotentials(from -0.6 to -0.8 V ***) in 0.1 M KHco_(3), while H_(2) from the competitive water reduction appears at larger overpotentials(-0.9 V vs. RHE). The optimum copper acetate-derived catalyst containing Cu-n_(4) moieties exhibits a co_(2)-to-co turnover frequency of 997 h^(-1) at -0.9 V vs. RHE with a H_(2)/co ratio of 1.8. These results demonstrate that RRde configuration can be used as a feasible approach for identifying electrolysis products from co_(2)RR.

Understanding the strength characteristics and deforma.ion behaviour of the tunnel surrounding rock in a fault zone is significant for tunnel stability *** this study,a series of unconfined compression tests were conducted to investigate the mechanical characteristics and failure behaviour of completely weathered granite(CWG)from a fault zone,considering with height-diameter(h/d)ratio,dry densities(ρd)and moisture contents(ω).Based on the experimental results,a regression ma.hema.ical model of unconfined compressive strength(UCs)for CWG was developed using the Multiple nonlinear Regression method(MnLR).The research results indicated that the UCs of the specimen with a h/d ratio of 0.6 decreased with the increase ofω.When the h/d ratio increased to 1.0,the UCs increasedωwith up to 10.5%and then ***ρd is conducive to the improvement of the UCs at anyω.The deforma.ion and rupture process as well as final failure modes of the specimen are controlled by h/d ratio,ρd andω,and the h/d ratio is the dominant factor affecting the final failure mode,followed byωandρ*** specimens with different h/d ratio exhibited completely different fracture mode,i.e.,typical splitting failure(h/d=0.6)and shear failure(h/d=1.0).By comparing the experimental results,this regression model for predicting UCs is accurate and reliable,and the h/d ratio is the dominant factor affecting the UCs of CWG,followed byρd and thenω.These findings provide important references for ma.ntenance of the tunnel crossing other fault fractured zones,especially at low confining pressure or unconfined condition.

Electrode ma.erials with high desalination capacity and long-term cyclic stability are the focus of capacitive deionization(CDI) community. Understanding the causes of performa.ce decay in traditional carbons is crucial to design a high-performa.ce ma.erial. Based on this, here, nitrogen-doped activated carbon(nAC) was prepared by pyrolyzing the blend of activated carbon powder(ACP) and melamine for the positive electrode of asymmetric CDI. By comparing the indicators changes such as conductivity, salt adsorption capacity, pH, and charge efficiency of the symmetrical ACP-ACP device to the asymmetric ACP-nAC device under different CDI cycles, as well as the changes of the electrochemical properties of anode and cathode ma.erials after long-term operation, the reasons for the decline of the stability of the CDI performa.ce were revealed. It was found that the carboxyl functional groups generated by the electro-oxidation of anode carbon ma.erials ma.e the anode zero-charge potential(E_(pzc)) shift positively,which results in the uneven distribution of potential windows of CDI units and affects the adsorption capacity. Furthermore, by understanding the electron density on C atoms surrounding the n atoms, we attribute the increased cyclic stability to the enhanced negativity of the charge of carbon atoms adjacent to quaternary-n and pyridinic-oxide-n.

To overcome the inaccuracy problem of the traditional wedge evaluation of steel plates and strips caused by the ran-domness of the thicknesses of two local points and improve the reliability of the wedge index,the double-centroid method for the wedge evaluation was proposed,and a model based on the centroid theory was ***,an integral model for the discrete thickness values of the cross-section profiles was *** discussion focused on the distinct characteristics of the two-point method,asymmetric method,and double-centroid method in evaluating the asymmetric distribution of *** three methods were employed to evaluate the wedge values of both the theoretical and measured cross-sections of steel plates and strips,and the accuracies of three wedge evaluation models were analyzed and *** results showed that the double-centroid method objectively reflects the degree and variation characteristics of the wedge values of the cross-sections of steel plates and strips,and this method is feasible,reliable,and outstanding.

Mechanochromic polymers based on non-covalent changes have attracted much attention ***,we report the impact of inter/intramolecular hydrogen bonds on polymer mechanochromism from the excited state intramolecular proton transfer (EsIPT) ***-nH2-OH and PhMz=2A are designed and obtained by simple and high-yield synthesis,and are connected into polyurethane and poly(methyl acrylate-co-2-ethylhexyl acrylate),*** the initial state,the PhMz-nH2-OH@PU sample shows blue fluorescence from the excited enol form (E*) excitons,owing to intermolecular hydrogen bonds that interrupt the EsIPT reactions but the PhMz=2A@Pma.2-EA sample expresses cyan fluorescence belonging to the excited keto form (K*) emission,implying that the intramolecular hydrogen bonds ***,under stretching,external force can tune the emission of the PhMz=2A@Pma.2-EA sample from K* to E* *** external force can putatively still promote a bond rotation,EsIPT reactions rema.n equivalently interrupted in both the relaxed and stressed states in a hydrogen-bond donating *** calculation confirms the force-induced increase in dihedral angle for the transition of EsIPT-on/***,PhMz-nH2-OH@PU and PhMz=2A@Pma.2-EA showed disparate initial EsIPT states and further different responses/sensitivity to *** study reports a novel and efficient strategy for enriching mechanochromic investigation and extending the applications of EsIPT reactions.

The Li-and Mn-rich layered oxides(R-LnCM)are considered as promising cathode ma.erials for high-energy density lithium-ion batteries(LIBs).However,the interface side reaction aggravates the voltage and capacity fading between cathode ma.erial and electrolyte at high voltage,which severely hinders the practical application of LIB ***,lithium polyacrylate(LiPAA)as the binder and coating agent is applied to suppress the voltage and capacity fading of R-LnCM *** flexible LiPAA layers with high elasticity are capable of impeding cathode cracks on the particle surface via mechanical stress ***,superior voltage and capacity fading suppression on R-LnCM electrode is finally *** a result,LiPAA-R-LnCM cathode exhibits a rema.kable specific capacity of 186 ma.h·g^(-1)with~73%retention at 1℃after ***,the corresponding average discharge potential is ma.ntained to~3.1 V with only~0.4 V falling.
