Bladder cancer(BC)is the 10th most common cancer worldwide,with about 0.5 million reported new cases and about 0.2 million deaths per *** this scoping review,we summarize the current evidence regarding the clinical implications of single-cell sequencing for bladder cancer based on PRISma *** searched PubMed,CENTraL,Embase,and supplemented with manual searches through the Scopus,and Web of Science for published studies until February *** included original studies that used at least one single-cell technology to study bladder ***-one publications were included in the ***-nine studies showed that this technology can identify cell subtypes in the tumor microenvironment that may predict prognosis or response to immune checkpoint inhibition *** studies were able to diagnose BC by identifying neoplastic cells through single-cell sequencing urine *** remaining studies were mainly a preclinical exploration of tumor microenvironment at single cell ***-cell sequencing technology can discriminate heterogeneity in bladder tumor cells and determine the key molecular properties that can lead to the discovery of novel perspectives on cancer *** nascent tool can advance the early diagnosis,prognosis judgment,and targeted therapy of bladder cancer.

Global climate changes have increased temperatures,radiation indexes,and consequently,irregularities in rainfall in mainly tropical countries,considerably hindering plant establishment in recovering degraded *** objective of this study was to evaluate the growth and physiological characteristics of one species of each successional group:pioneer,secondary,and climax when subjected to different light intensities and hydrogel as a soil conditioner during rainy and dry *** experiment was conducted in the ecotone between Brazil’s two largest biomes,the Cerrado and the Amazon in the State of maranh?*** parameters consisted of three species:Guazuma ulmifolia Lam.(pioneer),Astronium fraxinifolium Schott(secondary),and Cariniana rubra Gardner ex Miers(climax).There were two light intensities:70%and 100%,and two planting conditions:with and without soil conditioner(hydrogel).Gas exchanges were higher during the rainy season;the pioneer and secondary species had greater heights and photosynthetic rates in the dry period;the climax species had the lowest gas exchange and lowest recovery as rainfall *** pioneer and secondary species showed higher physiological plasticity,denoting better adaption to environments with high *** improved the photosynthetic performance of these species in the dry season and in areas with 100%sunlight.

Considering the expansion of forest plantations over the Brazilian territory and the imminent increase in air temperatures due to global warming,the search for technologies that ensure high levels of productivity and high quality plants in clonal nurseries is *** kaolin-based particle films(KBPF)has been used as a physical barrier to reduce the negative effects of excessive solar radiation and adverse *** effects of KBPF on production and physiological quality of eucalyptus mini-cuttings were evaluated during two different seasons.A randomized block design was used,consisting of five treatments and four *** concentrations(0,3%,5%,7%,and 10%)were tested here and six weekly replicates of each concentration was *** different kaolin concentrations and seasonal variations resulted in a quadratic response of the leaf SPAD reading during both daily evaluation *** applications resulted in a quadratic response of photochemical efficiency in the morning period,and an increasing specific leaf weight linear response,and during the dry season,the different kaolin concentrations resulted in a bud length quadratic *** results indicated that the kaolin application maintained the production and yield index statistically equal between weekly KBPF applications,improving photochemical efficiency,leaf thickness,SPAD reading,and bud *** use of KBPF could reduce the intervals between collections of mini-cuttings and increase nursery yields in environments that present high temperatures.

In scenarios of climatic change when increased global temperatures can be expected,it is essential to search for technologies that favor sapling survival and growth after planting and increase yield in the ***-based particle films(KBPF)have been applied as barriers against the deleterious effects of high levels of solar *** objective of the present study was to assess the effects of applying purified calcined kaolin-based particle film to young eucalyptus *** treatments were carried out:0%(just water),3%,5%,7%,and 10%calcined kaolin applied to the adaxial part of the leaves.A complete randomized block design was used with five treatments and ten *** plants were assessed for height,diameter at ground level,gas exchanges(net photosynthetic CO_(2) assimilation,stomatal conductance and transpiration),instantaneous(WUE)and intrinsic water use efficiency(IWUE),chlorophyll a fluorescence(maximum quantum yield of photosystem II(PSII)(Fv/Fm),concentration of active reaction centers in relation to the quantity of photons absorbed(RC/ABS)and the maximum ratio of quantum yields of photochemical and concurrent non-photochemical processes in PSII(Fv/F0),SPAD reading and leaf *** 3%KBPF concentration showed the best responses in biometric assessments 80 days after planting(DAP)and were corroborated by the responses of the leaf,stem and shoot dry matter production as a *** leaf ontogeny assessments showed positive responses following KBPF application when considering leaf development,with 7%KBPF concentration resulting in the highest mean *** mean specific leaf mass had negative response to high KBPF *** 60 DAP,the gas exchange variables during both assessment periods declined with an increase in KBPF *** differences as a result of KBPF applications were found only at the start of the assessments(34 DAP)for both WUE and for ***‘greenness’(SPAD reading)at 47 days showed a quadratic

Involvement of TLR2 and TLR4,Chlamydophila pneumoniae and Mycoplasma pneumoniae in adventitial inflammation of aortic atherosclerotic aneurysm

Aortic atherosclerotic aneurysm (AAA) is associated with adventitial inflammation where infection is suggested to have a role. Co-infection with Chlamydophila pneumoniae (Cp) and Mycoplasma pneumoniae (Mp) was linked with coronary plaque rupture, in association with vessel dilatation and adventitial inflammation. Pathogens are recognized by Toll-like receptors (TLRs) development of the inflammatory process. Objective: Here, we studied whether co-infection by Cp and Mp was involved in the increased inflammation present in AAA and if it could be associated with deficient expression of TLRs. We compared human samples of AAA with non-dilated human aortic atherosclerotic lesions, regarding the amount of Cp and Mp antigens, and expression of TLR2 and TLR4. Methods: Two groups of aorta fragments were analyzed: G1 (n = 13) moderate atherosclerosis and G2 (n = 14) AAA samples, through immunohisto-chemistry and in situ hybridization methods. Results: Mp and Cp antigens in intima/medial layer were greater in G2 than G1, with no difference in adventitia. TLR2 and TLR4 were higher in G2 than G1 adventitia fat. There was a correlation between Mp versus TLR2 and of TLR4 in intima/medial layer and in adventitia of G1, but there was a lack of correlation in G2. In Cp adventitia, the correlation in G1 was high with TLR2 but not with TLR4, and in G2 the correlation was positive for both TLRs. Conclusion: This study favors the concept that symbiotic co-infection by Cp and Mp participates in the pathogenesis of AAA. It also emphasizes that adventitial fat is the initial site for colonization of these bacteria that probably reach the tissue through vasa vasorum. An exacerbated immune reaction is not efficient to control the infection that reaches and proliferates in high levels at the medial and intimal layer, contributing to the development of vessel dilatation.

Structural Characteristics of Mulato Grass I under Different Cutting Heights

This work aimed to evaluate the effects of different individual heights of cut on structural characteristics of Brachiaria hibrida cv. Mulato I in four periods of the year. The study was carried out at the Fazenda Experimental Vale do Acaraú, in Sobral, Ceará, Brazil, from January to december, 2008. The experimental design was a split plot, with the plots representing four pasture conditions through manual cuts of 10 cm, 20 cm, 30 cm and 40 cm heights, which were done every 30 days. Each treatment had three replications. The subplots were represented by four periods of evaluation: January-February-march, April-may-June, July-August-September and October-November-december. Fertilization was performed with 350 kg of N/ha, divided into monthly applications. Irrigation was conducted in alternate days during the dry season. The variables studied were: mean height before cutting (cm);dry matter content (%);total dry matter production (t/ha);percentage of leaves;percentage of stems;percentage of dead material;leaf blade/stem ratios;number of total leaves per tiller;number of live leaves per tiller;average size of leaves;and tiller density. Cutting at 10 cm caused a decrease in total dry matter production, underestimating the potential production. Cutting heights between 20 and 30 cm contributed positively to increase the total number of leaves, number of green leaves, average size of the leafs and total dry matter production. Under the present experimental conditions, cutting around 40 cm was not recommended because of a decreasing in the leaf/stem ratio and a increasing in stem fraction and dry matter content, compromising the structure of the canopy.

Phylogeny of Bacteria from Steelmaking Wastes and Their Acidic Enrichment Cultures

Currently, millions of tons of steel are produced worldwide. This has become a serious economic and environmental challenge because the ores used for steel production are nonrenewable resources and the production generates huge amount of waste. In this study, we identified and investigated the ability of bacteria from steelmaking waste with low and high zinc concentration to promote leaching of zinc, when enriched by acidic (pH 2) culture conditions. The bioleaching assays indicated removal of Zn, as in chemical leaching. Bacterial communities from crude and enrichment culture wastes were characterized by the 16S rRNA gene. Phylogenetic analysis of the generated clone libraries revealed predominance of Proteobacteria and Firmicutes. The Actino- bacteria, Bacteroidetes, Cyanobacteria, and deinococcus-Thermus phyla were also encountered. The clones were most closely related to cultivable heterotrophic bacteria. Different genera were identified including iron redox cycling and leaching bacteria such as Chromobacterium, Aeromonas, Escherichia, Bacillus, and Ochrobactrum. These data add significant new information on bacteria which survive in extremely acidic conditions. They are distantly related to typical acidophiles responsible for the leaching process, which makes them good candidates for future studies on metal bioleaching.

The implications of the patient-physician relationship and communication on healthcare quality have been widely discussed in previous research. Communication has been characterized as one of the most powerful, encompassing and versatile instruments available to the physician and it has been suggested that good patient-physician communication can improve healthcare outcomes. The incorporation of EMRs (electronic medical records) in primary care provides an opportunity for improving healthcare services and quality of care. EMRs have, without a doubt, transformed the dynamics of the medical encounter. Implications of EMRs on the patient-physician communication, and thus on healthcare quality, have not yet reached a full understanding. This research in progress paper aims to describe the development of simulated medical encounters that will be used to assess the adequacy of the existing SEGUE (S-Set the stage; E-Elicit information; G-Give information; U-Understand the patients" perspective; E-End the encounter)tool in evaluating physicians" communication skills in a computerized environment, while emphasizing the need to expand the SEGUE tool into a more comprehensive tool for analyzing physicians"communication skills in the computerized clinic while taking into account the new dynamics and medical setting that have been generated since the introduction of EMRs into primary care.
