Blast disease caused by the fungus magnaporthe oryzae is one of the most devastating rice diseases. Disease resistance genes such as Pi-ta or Pi-ta2 are critical to protect rice production from blast. Published work reports that Pi-ta codes for a nucleotide-binding and leucine-rich repeat protein(NlR) that recognizes the fungal protease-like effector AVR-Pita by direct binding. However, this model was challenged by the recent discovery that Pi-ta2 resistance, which also relies on AVR-Pita detection, is conferred by the unconventional resistance gene Ptr, which codes for a membrane protein with a cytoplasmic armadillo repeat domain. Using NlR Pi-ta and Ptr RNAi knock-down and CRISPR/Cas9 knock-out mutant rice lines, we found that AVR-Pita recognition relies solely on Ptr and that the NlR Pi-ta has no role in it, indicating that it is not the Pi-ta resistance gene. Different alleles of Ptr confer different recognition specificities. The A allele of Ptr(PtrA) detects all natural sequence variants of the effector and confers Pi-ta2 resistance, while the B allele of Ptr(PtrB) recognizes a restricted set of AVR-Pita alleles and, thereby, confers Pi-ta resistance. Analysis of natural diversity in AVR-Pita and of mutant and transgenic strains identified one specific polymorphism in the effector sequence that controls escape from PtrB-mediated resistance. Taken together, our work establishes that the M. oryzae effector AVR-Pita is detected in an allele-specific manner by the unconventional rice resistance protein Ptr and that the NlR Pi-ta has no function in Pi-ta resistance and the recognition of AVR-Pita.

The iron core of a motor is mainly manufactured from rolled nonoriented silicon steel using a punching process that leads to deformation and texture evolution at the cutting *** to this process,circular samples of nonoriented silicon steel were prepared by punching using blunt punch *** this work,two positions along the rolling and transverse directions at the cutting edge were *** main mechanisms of deformation for both positions are dislocation slip and formation of shear *** two mechanisms lead to similar texture evolutions for both *** dislocation slip leads to the formation of the{221}component in the unbending area(200μm away from the cutting edge)and intermediate continuum-bent ***,the evolution of the texture from the{111}γfiber to the{110}fiber was observed at the extremity of the cutting edge with the formation of shear bands.

Electron Backscattered Diffraction of Transgranular Crack Propagation in Soft Steel

We consider the crack propagation in a soft steel sheet during the formation. The drawability is considered in relation with the structural anisotropy, the mechanical behaviour is related to both the grain morphology and the texture. The structure heterogeneity could lead to the apparition of micro-cracks. The results show the texture effect on the crack propagation and on the crack arrest in soft steel during the formation. The EBSD technique allows to show that the adjustment of the grain orientation from the initial main component {111}（112） towards the deformation orientation {111}（110） incites a trans-granular crack through a grain with initial {111}（112） orientation in a globally ductile material. It is the presence of grains with {111}（110） orientation which permits the closing of micro-cracks.

The microstructure and texture development in a Mg-0.41Dy(wt%)alloy after plane strain compression(PSC)at 300℃under a strain rate of 10^(-2)and 10^(-4)s^(-1),up a final true strain of—1.2 were investigated using electron backscatter diffraction(EBSD)and X-ray *** high strain rate of 10^(-2)s^(-1),the microstructure exhibited massive twins mainly{101^(-)2}extension,{1011}contraction and{101^(-)3}-{101^(-)2}double twin due to the random texture of the as-cast ***,at a low strain rate of 10^(-4)s^(-1),the microstructure was characterized by dynamic recrystallization at the{101^(-)2}extension,(101^(-)1)contraction twins and grain *** dynamic recrystallization(TDRX),rotational dynamic recrystallization(RDRX)and discontinuous dynamic recrystallization(DDRX)were the main mechanisms responsible for the formation of recrystallized *** texture was characterized by the formation of three fibers:basal,//CD and//CD where CD is the compression ***,the texture was less sensitive to the deformation conditions since the recrystallized grains showed the same orientation than *** changes of the mechanical properties of the alloy were ascribed to the resulting microstructure due to the twinning and dynamic recrystallization.

PHProteomicDB:A Module for Two-dimensional Gel Electrophoresis Database Creation on Personal Web Sites

PHProteomicDB is a PHP-written module to help researchers in proteomics to share two-dimenslonal gel electrophoresis data using personal web sites. No technical or PHP knowledge is necessary except a few basics about web site management. PHProteomicDB has a user-friendly administration interface to enter and update data. It creates web pages on the fly displaying gel characteristics, gel pictures, and numbered gel spots with their related identifications pointing to their reference pages in protein databanks. The module is freely available at http：//***/***3？rub=Download.

Bemisia tabaci-transmitted geminiviruses are one of the major threats on cassava and vegetable crops in Africa. However, to date, few studies are available on the diversity orB. tabaci and their associated endosymbionts in Africa. More than 28 species have been described in the complex ofB. tabaci cryptic species; among them, 2 are invasive pests worldwide： MED and MEAM1. In order to assess the species diversity orB. tabaci in vegetable crops in Senegal, several samplings in different localities, hosts and seasons were collected and analyzed with nuclear （microsatellite） and mitochondrial （COI） markers. The bacterial endosymbiont community was also studied for each sample. Two species were detected： MED Q1 and MEAM1 B. Patterns of MED Q1 （dominance on most of the samples and sites, highest nuclear and mitochondrial diversity and broader secondary endosymbiont community： Hamiltonella, Cardinium, Wolbachia and Rickettsia）, point toward a predominant resident begomovirus vector group for MED Q 1 on market gardening crops. Furthermore, the lower prevalence of the second species MEAM1 B, its lower nuclear and mitochondrial diversity and a narrower secondary endosymbiont community （Hamiltonella/Rickettsia）, indicate that this genetic group is exotic and results from a recent invasion in this area.

Effect of Welding on Microstructure and Mechanical Properties of an Industrial low Carbon Steel

In this work, the effect of arc welding on microstructures and mechanical properties of industrial low carbon steel (0.19 wt. % C) was studied. This steel is used for making gas storage cylinders. In order to realize the objective, optical microscopy, EBSD, X-ray diffraction, and hardness tests were used. Different zones and some phases are identified. New microstructural phenomenons are observed by using EBSD technique.
