Microstructure evolution and shape memory behaviors of Ni_(47)Ti_(44)Nb_(9)alloy subjected to multistep thermomechanical loading with different prestrain levels

Ni_(47)Ti_(44)Nb_(9)shape memory alloy(Sma)is a promising material in the aerospace field due to its wide transformation *** application of shape memory effect depends on multistep thermomechan-ical loading,viz.,low-temperature deformation and subsequent heating to ***-temperature deformation prestrain plays a pivotal role in shape memory properties tailoring of Sma ***,microstructure evolution and deformation mechanisms of Ni_(47)Ti_(44)Nb_(9)Sma subjected to vari-ous prestrain levels are still *** this end,microstructure evolution and shape memory behaviors of Ni_(47)Ti_(44)Nb_(9)alloy subjected to multistep thermomechanical loading with prestrain levels of 8%-16%at-28℃(M_(s)+30℃)were *** results demonstrate that the stress-strain curve of the specimen exhibits four distinct stages at a maximal prestrain of 16%.Whereas stageⅡand stageⅢend at prestrains of∼8%and∼12%,*** stageⅡ,the stress-induced martensitic transformation is accompanied by the dislocation slip of the NiTi matrix andβ-Nb *** stageⅢ,in addition to the higher density of dislocations and further growth of stress-induced martensite variants(SIMVs),(001)compound twins are introduced as a result of the(001)deformation twinning in stress-induced ***{20-1}martensite twins are gradually introduced in stageⅣ.Correspondingly,after subsequent unloading and heating,a higher density of{114}austenite twins form in the specimen with a larger prestrain of 16%.With increasing prestrain from 8%to 16%,the recoverable strainε_(re)^(T)upon heating increases first and then ***ε_(re)^(T)obtains a maximum of 7.03%at 10%prestrain and de-creases to 6.17%at 16%*** increase ofε_(re)^(T)can be attributed to the formation of new SIMVs,the further growth of existing SIMVs,and the recoverable(001)compound *** the decrease ofε_(re)^(T)is mainly associated with the irrecoverable strain by{20−1}martensite *** effe

bamboo is a typical biological material widely growing in nature with excellent physical and mechanical *** is lightweight with high strength and *** naturally optimized bamboo structure,which has inspired global material scientists and engineers for decades,is significantly important for the bionic design of novel structural materials with ultra-light,ultra-strong,or ultra-tough and comprehensive *** literature on innovative composite materials and structural members inspired by bamboo are reviewed in this paper,and the research progress and prospects in this field are expounded in three ***,the structural characteristics of the bamboo wall layer along the thickness and height directions are described in terms of chemical composition,gradient structure,pore structure,and hollow structure with variable ***,this paper summarizes the research progress on new composite materials and structural components by applying bamboo’s structural features from the perspective of sustainability,designability,and ***,given the limitations of current research,the biomimetic scientific research on bamboo’s structural characteristics is prospected from the interpretation of bamboo structure,new bamboo-like materials,and structural design optimization perspectives,providing a reference for future research on biomimetic aspects of biomass.

The large-scale implementation of the Gully Stabilization and Land Reclamation(GSLR)project induces various failures of loess slopes due to excavation in Yan'an,***,the deformation and failure behavior of these excavated loess slopes have not been fully *** this study,field investigation was undertaken for analyzing the distributions and failure features of excavation-induced loess slope *** is found that plastic failure mainly occurs in q_(3) loess layers and brittle failure in q_(2).To understand the underlying failure mechanism,a series of triaxial shear tests were conducted on intact q_(3) and q_(2) loess samples that with different water contents,namely natural water content(natural),dry side of the natural value(drying 5%),and wet side(wetting 5%).The characteristics of stress-strain curves and failure modes of the samples were *** show that the stress-strain curves of q_(2) samples are dominated by strain-softening characteristics,while q_(3) samples mainly exhibit strain-harden features except in the drying ***,shear failures of q_(3) specimens are mainly caused by shear crack planes(single,X or V-shaped).For q_(2) loess,the dominance of tensile cracks is observed on the surface of damaged *** disclose the different failure modes of excavated slopes located in different strata,that is,the arc sliding failure of q_(3) loess slopes and the stepped tensile failure of q_(2) loess slopes,and are helpful in the design and management of the ongoing GSLR projects in the Loess Plateau.

Effects of oxygen vacancy on bond ionicity,lattice energy,and microwave dielectric properties of CeO_(2) ceramics with Yb^(3+) substitution

Novel Yb_(x)Ce_(1-x)O_(2-0.5x)(x=0-0.8)ceramics,designed by replacing Ce^(4+)with Yb^(3+)ions were prepared by conventional oxide reaction,and the structural stability of the cubic fluorite structure was assessed using lattice energy and ionic properties of Ce/Yb-O *** oxygen vacancy caused by unequal substitution,which played a decisive role in bond ionicity and lattice energy,was analyzed experimentally by XPS and also theoretically by first *** Yb_(x)Ce_(1-x)O_(2-0.5x) ceramics maintain a stable cubic fluorite structure when x≤0.47,corresponding to the minimum lattice energy of 4142 kJ/mol with the lowest ionicity as ƒ_(i)=87.57%.For microwave dielectric properties,when the Yb_(x)Ce_(1-x)O_(2-0.5x)(x=0-0.4)ceramics are pure phase,the porosity-corrected permittivity is dependent on the bond *** q×ƒ values are related to the lattice energy and grain *** temperature coefficient of resonance frequency has been analyzed using bond *** the Yb_(x)Ce_(1-x)O_(2-0.5x)(x=0.5-0.8)ceramics are multiple phases,the microwave dielectric properties are associated with the phase composition and grain growth.

Radiative decays D((s))*→D((s))γare revisited in light of new experimental data from the babar and bESⅢ*** radiative couplings gD*Dγencoding nonperturbative qCD effects are calculated in the framework of the covariant confined quark model developed by *** compare our results with other theoretical studies and experimental *** couplings(in GeV-1)|g(D*+D+γ)|=0.45(9)and|g(D*0D0γ)|=1.72(34)calculated in our model agree with the corresponding experimental data|g(D*+D+γ)|=0.47(7)and|g(D*0D0γ)|=1.77(16).The most interesting case is the decay Ds*→Dsγ,for which a recent prediction based on light-cone sum rules at next-to-leading order|gDs*Dsγ|=0.60(19)deviates from the first(and only to date)lattice qCD result|gDs*Dsγ|=0.11(2)at nearly3σ.Our calculation yields|gDs*Dsγ|=0.29(6),which falls somehow between the two mentioned results,although it is larger than those predicted in other studies using quark models or qCD sum rules.

Transfer learning framework for multi-scale crack type classification with sparse microseismic networks

Controllable split polarization singularities for ultra-precise displacement sensing

The topic of optical precise displacement measurement has garnered significant attention and generated widespread interest recently. The use of optical singularity offers a potential solution for this purpose, although effectively manipulating the singularity in an ideal manner remains challenging. In this work, we propose a theoretical approach to achieve controllable position modulation of the C-point in the focal plane, whose spatial position can be easily modulated by adjusting the relative offset factor β and the offset angle α of an azimuthal polarization beam(APb), while the interval and orientation of the C-points can be flexibly regulated. Notably, the chiral polarization state undergoes a distinct reversal along the link-line connecting the two C-points, thereby providing a promising approach for accurate displacement sensing. To evaluate its sensing characteristics, the varying pattern of the scattered field intensity is monitored when sweeping a gold helix and nanoparticle along the link-line. The results of simulation quality index q verify that the equilibrium factor of the scattering field possesses an obvious linear relationship with the displacement, signifying a precise sub-nanometric *** research introduces new methods for the flexible control of polarization singularities in tightly focused fields,thereby enhancing the utilization of circular polarization properties near C-points for displacement *** findings not only enrich the field of nanometer measurement technology but also pave the way for new avenues of research in this domain.
