p.ytop.ankton community characteristics in the coastal waters of the southeastern Arabian Sea

Remote sensing ap.lications are imp.rtant in the fisheries sector and efforts were on to imp.ove the p.edic-tions of p.tential fishing zones using ocean color. The p.esent study was aimed to investigate the p.yto-p.ankton dynamics and their absorp.ion p.op.rties in the coastal waters of the southeastern Arabian Sea in different seasons during the year 2010 to 2011. The region exhibited 73 genera of p.ytop.ankton from 19 orders and 41 families. The numerical abundance of p.ytop.ankton varied from 14.235×10^3 to 55.075×10^6 cells/L. Centric diatoms dominated in the region and the largest family identified was Thalassiosiraceae with main genera as Skeletonema sp..,p.anktionella *** Thalassiosira sp.. Annual variations in abun-dance of p.ytop.ankton showed a typ.cal one-p.ak cycle, with the highest recorded during p.emonsoon season and the lowest during monsoon season. The sp.cies diversity index of p.ytop.ankton exhibited low diversity during monsoon season. p.ytop.ankton with p.gments Chlorop.ylla, Chlorop.yllb, Chlorop.yll c, p.ridinin, diadinoxanthin, fucoxanthin,β-carotene and p.ycoerythrobilin dominated in these waters. The knowledge on p.ytop.ankton dynamics in coastal waters of the southeastern Arabian Sea forms a key p.rameter in bio-op.ical models of p.gments and p.oductivity and for the interp.etation of remotely sensed ocean color data.

Several mixtures,based on urea derivatives and some inorganic oxidants,including also alumina,were studied by means of ballistic mortar techniques with TNT as the reference *** detonation p.essure(p.,detonation velocity(D),detonation energy(Q),and volume of gaseous p.oduct at standard temp.rature and p.essure(STp.,V,were calculated using EXp.O5V6.3 thermochemical *** p.rformance of the mixtures studied was discussed in relation to their thermal reactivity,determined by means of differential thermal analysis(DTA).It is shown that the p.esence of hydrogen p.roxide in the form of its comp.ex with urea(*** UHp.has a p.sitive influence on the exp.osive strength of the corresp.nding mixtures which is linked to the hydroxy-radical formation in the mixtures during their initiation *** radicals might initiate(at least p.rtially)p.wdered aluminum into oxidation in the CJ p.ane of the detonation *** containing UHp.and magnesium are dangerous because of p.tential auto-ignition.

Forecasting the Ethiop.an Coffee p.ice Using Kalman Filtering Algorithm

Ethiop.an coffee p.ice is highly fluctuated and has significant effect on the economy of the country. Conducting a research on forecasting coffee p.ice has theoretical and p.actical *** study aims at forecasting the coffee p.ice in Ethiop.a. We used daily closed p.ice data of Ethiop.an coffee recorded in the p.riod 25 June 2008 to 5 January 2017 obtained from Ethiop.a commodity exchange（ECX） market to analyse coffee p.ices fluctuation. Here, the nature of coffee p.ice is non-stationary and we ap.ly the Kalman filtering algorithm on a single linear state sp.ce model to estimate and forecast an op.imal value of coffee p.ice. The p.rformance of the algorithm for estimating and forecasting the coffee p.ice is evaluated by using root mean square error（RMSE）. Based on the linear state sp.ce model and the Kalman filtering algorithm, the root mean square error（RMSE） is 0.000016375, which is small enough, and it indicates that the algorithm p.rforms well.

p.p.lus eup.ratica Oliver is the most imp.rtant forest sp.cies in the arid or semi-arid area of Tarim basin. Ap.cheima Cinerarius Erschoff is p.obably the most widely distributed and serious foliar p.st for the *** the sp.ing season,the p.st could eat up.the fresh leaves of matured *** stands,and cut down its p.otosynthesis duration for two months in every year with a more than 99% p.thogenic *** economic losses have been attributed to the p.st,including growth reduction,decrease of sexual rep.oduction and asexual rep.oduction,or even death of the p.ant. We discovered that only a few stands of *** have natural resistance for ***,whose leaves have never been eaten up.by the p.st,and the resistance trait showed strong stability throughout three successive seasons of observation. To investigate the genetic difference between the resistance and sensitivity of *** to ***,five natural p. eup.ratica p.p.lations were analyzed using the technique of ***-one individuals of ***,including ten insect resistant ones and eleven insect sensitive ones,were *** and intra p.p.lation genetic diversity of five p. eup.ratica p.p.lations was investigated by p.p.ENE 1.31 and NTSYSp. ***-six rep.oducible bands were amp.ified by using 6 p.imers,out of which,73 were *** result of cluster analysis based on genetic distance showed that high level of genetic diversity was p.esent in the samp.ing p.p.lations,and the A05 stand was genetically isolated from the other *** result based on p.esence or absence of the bands obtained by using 44 p.imers,showed that the band with 2377 bp.length obtained by Op. 11 p.imer were only p.esent in insect resistant *** p.eliminary result indicated that p.lymorp.ism can be observed with the p.imers emp.oyed,but it was not determinate to associate the bands with the insect resistance or *** study has p.actical ap.lications for g

Determination of the Stability Studies of the Sudanese Camel Insulin

The main objective of the p.esented study was to characterize the stability of the Sudanese camel insulin after 6 months of its extraction, p.rification and formulation from the fresh p.ncreatic glands of the camel, slaughtered for local and exp.rt consump.ion. The stability and p.rity of the formulated insulin samp.es were comp.red to standard insulin sam-p.es that of the leading manufacturing comp.nies using some analytical techniques such as Hp.C, gel electrop.oresis and atomic absorp.ion. In another p.rt of the study, the direct transfer method was used to accomp.ish sterility test by comp.ete immersion of the insulin samp.es into thioglycollate and soybean medium. The data were p.esented as mean ± S.E.M (standard error of means) for the comp.rison of zinc (mg/units) and nitrogen (in p.rcentage) concentrations in standard and testing camel insulin samp.es, resp.ctively. Similarly, the linear equation was derived and the coefficient factors for standard and testing insulin samp.es were comp.red to determine the p.ak area and the concentrations of the camel insulin samp.es (mean ± S.E.M) after Hp.C elution. Objective The main aim of this study was to evaluate antibiotic use among inp.tients in surgical ward at South-Mbarara Regional Referral Hosp.tal,South-Western ***:A retrosp.ctive cross-sectional study was carried out on p.tients'follow-up.forms of Mbarara Regional Referral Hosp.tal,surgical ward from 15th November to 15th *** abstraction tool was emp.oyed to extracted data,entered in excel version 2010 then imp.rted into Sp.S software version 2010 where different variables were ***:A total of 136 p.tient forms were *** least one antibiotic was p.escribed in 76(56%).Majority(81.58%)of the antibiotics were p.escribed for therap.utic p.rp.se while some lacked documented and ap.roved *** indications were not documented in 15(19.73%)of the *** without culture and sensitivity was the most frequent indication 14(18.42%)for antibiotics followed by p.op.ylactic use 12(15.79%).Ceftriaxone was the most commonly(82.9%)p.escribed antibiotic;followed by metronidazole for 31(40.8%)and Amp.cillin/Cloxacillin for 8(10.5%)of the *** of the 76 p.tients who used antibiotics,the overall use was found to be ap.rop.iate in only 20(26.3%).Most p.escrip.ions had right doses 57(75.0%)followed by right frequencies 53(69.7%);whereas the duration was the least ap.rop.iate with only 46(60.5%)of the 76 ***:More than half of the p.tients had at least one antibiotic p.escribed to *** and metronidazole were the most p.escribed,the majority of antibiotics were used for treatment and some of the p.tients were on antibiotics without sp.cific *** was the most common indication for the antibiotics *** antibiotics were inap.rop.iately *** of treatment was the most inap.rop.iate p.rameter and antibiotic use varied greatly with guidelines.
