Most real application processes belong to a complex nonlinear system with incomplete information. It is difficult to estimate a model by assuming that the data set is governed by a global model. Moreover, in real processes, the available data set is usually obtained with missing values. To overcome the shortcomings of global modeling and missing data values, a new modeling method is proposed. Firstly, an incomplete data set with missing values is partitioned into several clusters by a K-means with soft constraints （KSC） algorithm, which incorporates soft constraints to enable clustering with missing values. Then a local model based on each group is developed by using SVR algorithm, which adopts a missing value insensitive （MVI） kernel to investigate the missing value estimation problem. For each local model, its valid area is gotten as well. Simulation results prove the effectiveness of the current local model and the estimation algorithm.

Since Pulse Code Modulation emerged in 1937, digitized speech has experienced rapid development due to its outstanding voice quality, reliability, robustness and security in communication. But how to reduce channel width without loss of speech quality remains a crucial problem in speech coding theory. A new full-duplex digital speech communication system based on the Vocoder of AMBE-1000(TM) and microcontroller ATMEL 89C51 is introduced. It shows higher voice quality than current mobile phone system with only a quarter of channel width needed for the latter. The prospective areas in which the system can be applied include satellite communication, IP Phone, virtual meeting and the most important, defence industry.

The fuzzy neural network is applied to the short-term load forecasting. The fuzzy rules and fuzzy membership functions of the network are obtained through fuzzy neural network learming. Three inference algorithms, i.e. themultiplicative inference, the maximum inference and the minimum inference, are used for comparison. The learningalgorithms corresponding to the inference methods are derived from back-propagation algorithm. To validate the fuzzyneural network model, the network is used to Predict short-term load by compaing the network output against the realload data from a local power system supplying electricity to a large steel manufacturer. The experimental results aresatisfactory.

BACKGROUND： Zinc （Zn） has been shown to greatly influence brain development. Zn supplements may reduce injury to cell membranes of the thyroid gland due to iodine deficiency. OBJECTIVE： To establish an iodine deficiency rat model using low-iodine food, which was supplemented with compound Zn and Zn gluconate, to observe the effects of Zn on brain development, as well as pituitary gland and thyroid gland function in iodine-deficient rats. DESIGN, TIME AND SETTING： Randomized grouping study of neural development was performed in the central laboratory of Shandong Institute for Prevention and Treatment of Endemic Disease from 1998 to 1999. MATERIALS： A total of 270 Wistar, female rats, one month after weaning, were used in this study, including 150 pregnant and 120 neonatal rats. Rats were randomly divided into six groups： normal control, model, iodine, compound Zn, iodine and compound Zn, and zinc gluconate. Each group contained 25 pregnant rats and 20 neonatal rats. METHODS： The pregnant rats and 20 neonatal rats, and well as the normal group, were fed standard chow and allowed free access to tap water （containing 5 u g/L iodine and 1 mg/L Zn）. The remaining five groups were fed low-iodine chow. However, the model group received distilled water, the iodine group received potassium-iodide distilled water （containing 300 u g/L iodine）, the compound Zn group received distilled water and intragastrically administrated 10 mL/kg compound Zn solution, once per day, the iodine and compound Zn group received distilled water with 300 u g/L iodine and intragastrically administrated 10 mL/kg compound Zn solution, once per day. All treatments lasted 90 days. MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES： All pregnant rats were sacrificed on the day 21 of pregnancy. Body mass number and rate of fetal absorption, as well as fetal death and malformation, were determined. 遮挡是人耳识别中一个难以回避的问题,本文对人耳受到部分遮挡的识别问题进行了研究。在分析人耳不同位置的鉴别能力的基础上,提出了一种基于决策层的子分类器融合的识别方法:首先将图像分割为若干连续但不重叠的子窗口;对每个子窗口,利用邻域保留嵌入算法进行特征提取,然后利用最近邻分类器进行识别;根据这些子分类器识别率的高低,可以得到相应的子窗口的鉴别能力;接下来再利用具有较高鉴别能力的子分类器进行融合识别来解决部分遮挡问题。在USTB人耳图像库上的实验结果表明人耳图像中确实有部分区域具有更高的鉴别能力,利用这些区域即可进行身份识别,而且本文提出的基于局部信息融合的方法比基于原始图像直接进行识别的方法具有更高的识别率,尤其适合于解决人耳识别中的部分遮挡问题。

以碳钢土壤腐蚀数据为对象,建立腐蚀率模型,对该材料的自然环境腐蚀规律进行研究。提出一种基于提升回归树(boosted regression trees)算法的新方法,针对实验数据小样本情况下的参数选取问题,采用ε不敏感损失函数、动态收缩系数对原算法进行改进。与神经网络、支撑向量回归(SVR)等多个典型算法进行对比研究。仿真数据和实验数据验证表明:改进的提升回归树算法对于数据的高维度、缺失值、高噪声等问题具有较好的鲁棒性,适合小样本数据的处理。利用该算法建立的模型能够准确的描述和预测碳钢在土壤中的腐蚀率,还可用于对腐蚀影响因素及因素间交互作用进行探索性分析。

人耳的生理结构含有丰富的身份鉴别信息,但由于其提取困难,现有的基于局部曲面特征的三维人耳识别并未对此进行利用。提出了一种新的三维人耳表征方法,称之为沟回结构特征。利用曲面变化量度量曲面的凹凸特性,进而提取出人耳沟回的关键结构信息。基于提取的沟回结构特征利用迭代最近点ICP算法进行三维人耳的粗对准,并进一步在三维人耳点云上进行ICP精对准。在UND生物识别图像库集合J2上的实验获得了较现有基于曲面表征和ICP算法的三维人耳识别方法更高的识别率和更短的耗时。

Shape retrieval using multi-level included angle functions-based Fourier descriptor

An effective shape signature namely multi-level included angle functions MIAFs is proposed to describe the hierarchy information ranging from global information to local variations of *** to rotation translation and scaling are the intrinsic properties of the *** each contour point the multi-level included angles are obtained based on the paired line segments derived from unequal-arc-length partitions of *** a Fourier descriptor derived from multi-level included angle functions MIAFD is presented for efficient shape *** proposed descriptor is evaluated with the standard performance evaluation method on three shape image databases the MPEG-7 database the Kimia-99 database and the Swedish leaf database. The experimental results of shape retrieval indicate that the MIAFD outperforms the existing Fourier descriptors and has low computational *** the comparison of the MIAFD with other shape description methods also shows that the proposed descriptor has the highest precision at the same recall value which verifies its effectiveness.
