Sleep disturbances and predictors of nondeployability among active-duty army soldiers: an odds ratio analysis of medical healthcare data from fiscal year 2018

Background:The impact of sleep disorders on active-duty soldiers’medical readiness is not currently *** data generated at military treatment facilities can be accessed to create research reports and thus can be used to estimate the prevalence of sleep disturbances and the role of sleep on overall health in service *** current study aimed to quantify sleep-related health issues and their impact on health and nondeployability through the analysis of *** healthcare records from fiscal year 2018(FY2018).Methods:Medical diagnosis information and deployability profiles(e-Profiles)were queried for all active-duty *** patients with a concurrent sleep disorder diagnosis receiving medical care within *** was predicted from medical reasons for having an e-Profile(categorized as sleep,behavioral health,musculoskeletal,cardiometabolic,injury,or accident)using binomial logistic *** e-Profiles were investigated as a moderator between other e-Profile categories and ***:Out of 582,031 soldiers,48.4%(n=281,738)had a sleep-related diagnosis in their healthcare records,9.7%(n=56,247)of soldiers had e-Profiles,and 1.9%(n=10,885)had a sleep *** with sleep e-Profiles were more likely to have had a motor vehicle accident(p OR(prevalence odds ratio)=4.7,95%CI 2.63–8.39,P≤0.001)or work/duty-related injury(p OR=1.6,95%CI 1.32–1.94,P≤0.001).The likelihood of nondeployability was greater in soldiers with a sleep e-Profile and a musculoskeletal e-Profile(p OR=4.25,95%CI 3.75–4.81,P≤0.001)or work/dutyrelated injury(p OR=2.62,95%CI 1.63–4.21,P≤0.001).Conclusion:Nearly half of soldiers had a sleep disorder or sleep-related medical diagnosis in 2018,but their sleep problems are largely not profiled as limitations to medical *** issues and physical injury predict nondeployability,and nondeployability is more likely to occur in soldiers who have sleep e-Profiles in addition t

Today's power systems are seeing a paradigm shift under the energy transition,sparkled by the electrification of demand,digitalisation of systems,and an increasing share of decarbonated power *** of these changes have a direct impact on their control centers,forcing them to handle weather-based energy resources,new interconnections with neighbouring transmission networks,more markets,active distribution networks,micro-grids,and greater amounts of available ***,these changes have translated during the past decade to small,incremental changes,mostly centered on hardware,software,and human *** assert that more transformative changes are needed,especially regarding human-centered design approaches,to enable control room operators to manage the future power *** paper discusses the evolution of operators towards continuous operation planners,monitoring complex time horizons thanks to adequate real-time *** upcoming challenges as well as emerging technologies for power systems,we present our vision of a new evolutionary architecture for control centers,both at backend and frontend *** propose a unified hypervision scheme based on structured decision-making concepts,providing operators with proactive,collaborative,and effective decision support.

Bi_(2)S_(3) for Aqueous Zn Ion Battery with Enhanced Cycle Stability

Aqueous Zn ion batteries(ZIBs)are promising in energy storage due to the low cost,high safety,and material *** development of metal oxides as the cathode for ZIBs is limited by the strong electrostatic forces between O2−and Zn2+which leads to poor cyclic ***,Bi2S3 is proposed as a promising cathode material for rechargeable aqueous *** cyclic stability and fast diffusion of Zn2+is ***,the layered structure of Bi2S3 with the weak van der Waals interaction between layers offers paths for diffusion and occupancy of Zn2+.As a result,the Zn/Bi2S3 battery delivers high capacity of 161 mAh g−1 at 0.2 A g−1 and good cycling stability up to 100 cycles with ca.100%*** battery also demonstrates good cyclic performance of ca.80.3%over 2000 cycles at 1 A g−*** storage mechanism in the Bi2S3 cathode is related to the reversible Zn ion intercalation/extraction reactions and the capacitive *** work indicates that Bi2S3 shows great potential as the cathode of ZIBs with good performance and stability.

The synergistic role of Ti microparticles and CeO_(2) nanoparticles in tailoring microstructures and properties of high-quality Ni matrix nanocomposite coating

In current work,Ni-Ti-CeO_(2) nanocomposite coatings were achieved by co-adding Ti microparticles and CeO_(2) *** experiments and COMSOL computer simulation were applied to reveal the synergistic role of Ti microparticles and CeO_(2) nanoparticles in tailoring the spatial microstructures and properties of Ni-Ti-CeO_(2) nanocomposite ***,the conductive Ti microparticles conducted the growth behavior of Ni grains by current density concentration,distorting electronic feld lines and heterogeneous *** domains consisting of inner nanograins and outer radial columnar grains surrounded Ti microparticles,where Ti microparticles acted as *** microparticles tended to be aggregated,leading to spatial heterogeneity of *** deposits buried the Ti microparticles in forms of“covering model”,contributing to the formation of inside voids and rough surface and aggregation of Ti microparticles;on the other hand,the non-conductive CeO_(2)microparticles hardly changed the distribution of current density and electronic feld lines on the cathode *** deposits buried the CeO_(2)microparticle in forms of“stacking model”,avoiding the inside voids and aggregation of *** incorporation of CeO_(2)microparticle brought in microstructure evolutions only on its top side without disturbing the growth behavior of Ni grains on its lateral side or bottom,suggesting the limited *** was correlated with the presence of current concentration above the CeO_(2) microparticle at the last stage of burying CeO_(2) *** co-addition of Ti microparticles and CeO_(2) nanoparticles into Ni deposits exploited the complementary action of the two particles,which gave birth to satisfed spatial microstructures and improved *** microparticles took major responsibility for microstructure evolutions,while the CeO_(2) nanoparticles were mainly in charge of the microstructure homogeneity.

Equity crowdfunding and especially syndicate equity crowdfunding are gaining popularity in the startup financing *** equity crowdfunding possesses the overriding vision of liberating the market while at the same time creating many new opportunities for individual,semi-professional *** this context,the role of the syndicate lead investors is particularly crucial because they can act as a sign of trust and reduce problems of equity crowdfunding such as information asymmetry or principle-agent ***,the impacts of syndicate lead investors have not been sufficiently explored in the past.I thus focus on the influence of the level of network centrality and reputation of syndicate lead investors on the success of the equity crowdfunding campaign and the subsequent startup funding *** network centrality is represented by syndicate lead investors' centrality in an investor-based social ***,reputation is captured by three dimensions,namely the past financial performance,the number of followers on Angel List,and the ratio of repeated syndicate investments by individual investors with the same syndicate lead *** on 496 syndicated deals from the Angel List platform,I found that the level of network centrality of the syndicate lead investor and his/her reputation have significant influence on the amount of the equity crowdfunding *** addition,reputation also affects the odds of the appearance of a subsequent funding round of his/her syndicated startup *** interaction effect between both groups of independent variables could not be *** results conclude that a well-connected and highly respected syndicate lead investor is able to send more positive signals to individual investors in the equity crowdfunding campaign and in part also to other potential professional investors in a subsequent funding *** findings can be seen as proofs of the important role of the syndicate lead investors i

During spermiogenesis, the protamine proteins play an integral role in spermatid chromatin compaction. Recent research has focused on many facets of protamine biology, including protamine gene and protein structure/ function relationships, mechanisms of protamine expression regulation and involvement of the protamines in male fertility. In this paper, we review our current understanding of the structure and function of the protamine-1 (P1) and protamine-2 (P2) proteins and genes, the expression and regulation of these genes and the relationship between the protamines and male fertility. In addition, we offer a brief outlook on future investigation into protamine proteins.

Evaluating pixel-based ***-based image analysis approaches for lithological discrimination using VNIR data of WorldView-3

The object-based against pixel-based image analysis approaches were assessed for lithological mapping in a geologically complex terrain using Visible Near Infrared(VNIR)bands of WorldView-3(WV-3)satellite *** study area is Hormuz Island,southern Iran,a salt dome composed of dominant sedimentary and igneous *** performing the object-based image analysis(OBLA)approach,the textural and spectral characteristics of lithological features were analyzed by the use of support vector machine(SVM)***,in the pixelbased image analysis(PBIA),the spectra of lithological end-members,extracted from imagery,were used through the spectral angle mapper(SAM)*** test samples were used in a confusion matrix to assess the accuracy of classification methods *** showed that OBIA was capable of lithological mapping with an overall accuracy of 86.54%which was 19.33%greater than the accuracy of *** also reduced the salt-and-pepper artifact pixels and produced a more realistic map with sharper lithological *** research showed limitations of pixel-based method due to relying merely on the spectral characteristics of rock types when applied to high-spatial-resolution VNIR bands of WorldView-3 *** is concluded that the application of an object-based image analysis approach obtains a more accurate lithological classification when compared to a pixel-based image analysis algorithm.
