Plant-based concretes are produced from plant aggregates and a *** fibers are mainly composed of saccharides(sugars)and these sugars can decrease the concentration of Ca2+ions in the cement pore solution and delay the formation of hydration *** improve the interfacial bond between fibers and matrix a chemical treatment is widely *** study investigates the effect of sodium hydroxide treatment on physical and hygroscopic properties of Typha *** particular,a 5%sodium hydroxide solution is used to treat these aggregates and their bulk and absolute densities,porosity,water content and water absorption are evaluated *** indicate that bulk and absolute densities increase after treatment from 56.44 kg/m^(3) to 122.57 kg/m^(3) and 541.93 kg/m^(3) to 555.17 kg/m^(3),*** treatment reduces porosity of Typha from 89.58%to 77.92%and decreases water content from 1.4%to 1%.The treatment with sodium hydroxide reduces substantially the water absorption of the aggregates.

Two relatively pure polysaccharides H3-a1 and H3-b1 had been isolated from the brown seaweed Hy-droclathrus clathratus. They were characterized by HPLC, ultraviolet scanning, gas chromatography, infrared spectroscopy and elemental analysis, and shown to be two different sulfated polysaccharides with different monosaccharide content, but both with high relative molecular mass. They contained some proteins and uronic acid respectively. The sulfate content and bioactivity of these polysaccha-rides varied during purification. The fractions derived from the hot water extract also exhibited low anticoagulant effect. This is the first time that the antiherpetic and anticoagulant activities were evaluated for the polysaccharides from the Hong Kong brown seaweed Hydroclathrus clathratus.

Chronic hepatitis B(CHB)-related hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)is a major health problem in AsianPacific *** therapy reduces,but does not eliminate the risk of *** would be a heavy financial burden in most low and middle economic countries if all CHB patients received antiviral therapy and HCC ***,there is a need for accurate risk prediction to assist prognostication,decisions on the need for antiviral therapy and HCC surveillance.A few wellestablished risk factors for HCC,namely advanced age,male gender,high viral load,cirrhosis etc.,are the core components of three HCC risk scores:CU-HCC,GAGHCC and REACH-B *** 3 scores were confirmed to be accurate in predicting HCC up to 10 years in treatment-na ve *** validity and applicability have recently been demonstrated in a large cohort of entecavir treatment patients.A decrease in risk scores after antiviral therapy translates to a lower risk of *** findings support the application of HCC risk scores in all CHB *** levels of care and different intensities of HCC surveillance should be offered according to the risk profile of *** at risk of HCC should undergo regular HCC surveillance,even when they are receiving antiviral treatment.

Testicular sperm extraction is widely used in the treatment of male infertility in cases of non-obstructive azoospermia. Identifying spermatogenetic foci within the testes is critical for testicular sperm extraction. Two-photon laser scanning microscopy （TPLSM） is an autofluorescence-based microscopy technique that allows observation at a cellular level in the depth of fresh living tissues and does not require any histological processing （fixation or staining）. The wavelengths previously used have shown no phototoxicity on sperm. We used TPLSM to detect spermatogenetic foci in fresh mouse testicular parenchyma without disrupting the tunica albuginea. Fresh surgically retrieved testes were observed using TPLSM within 1 h after extraction. Contralateral testes for each animal were observed using standard histology. Using TPLSM we were able to observe and measure the diameter of seminiferous tubules through the tunica albuginea, similar to the histological control. Structures within epithelial tubules were also observed, although their nature has yet to be identified. TPLSM is a real-time microscopy technique that could detect spermatogenetic foci.

With most accidents being due to human mistakes,autonomous vehicles appear to be the future of personal *** that most recent vehicles are instrumented enough because of driving assistances,one of the first thing to take care of for autonomous applications is the trajectory *** way to approach this matter is to use active steering but this paper will feature a controller that also uses the 4 in wheel motors of the Electric Vehicle（EV）to generate a yaw moment in order to achieve better *** order to achieve this control,a 3 degree of freedom（DOF）vehicle model has been simulated in the MATLAB/SIMULINK *** get good control performances and easily constraint the system,an MPC Controller incorporating the developped 3DOF vehicle model has been *** test the controller’s ability to follow the desired path two models were taken on two different *** first model uses MPC to control the active steering of the vehicle while the other with identical settings when applicable also controls the yaw moment generated using torque *** of these two controllers managed to follow the path on a line change maneuver and a sharp sine-shaped chain of *** of the two strategies used,the one giving the best results was the second controller using torque distribution,it reduced the delay between the command and the reaching of the position but also had a smaller overall *** difference for the first test was small because the maneuver didn’t require advanced control but the second one showed a bigger difference between the two ***,there is still work to be done to change the approach made by the MPC controller and reduce the tire wear and the somehow consequent use of the external yaw *** control strategy used in this paper is a first step towards advanced performance for path tracking applications and towards fully autonomous vehicles.

Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) includes a variety of histological conditions (ranging from liver steatosis and steatohepatitis, to fibrosis and hepatocarcinoma) that are characterized by an increased fat content within the liver. The accumulation/deposition of fat within the liver is essential for diagnosis of NAFLD and might be associated with alterations in the hepatic and systemic inflammatory state. Although it is still unclear if each histological entity represents a different disease or rather steps of the same disease, inflammatory processes in NAFLD might influence its pathophysiology and prognosis. In particular, non-alcoholic steatohepatitis (the most inflamed condition in NAFLDs, which more frequently evolves towards chronic and serious liver diseases) is characterized by a marked activation of inflammatory cells and the upregulation of several soluble inflammatory mediators. Among several mediators, cytokines and chemokines might play a pivotal active role in NAFLD and are considered as potential therapeutic targets. In this review, we will update evidence from both basic research and clinical studies on the potential role of cytokines and chemokines in the pathophysiology of NAFLD.
