As.ociation between Homa Index and Vas.ular Endothelial Dys.unction in Type 2 Diabetic Patients

Introduction: In recent years. flow mediated dilatation (FMD) has.become a popular technique in cardiovas.ular medicine. HOMA-IR was.accepted to determine the ins.lin s.ns.tivity as.a valuable s.andard. In this.s.udy, we evaluated the as.ociation between HOMA-IR (homeos.as.s.model as.es.ment of ins.lin res.s.ance) and vas.ular endothelial dys.unction, as.as.es.ed by endothelium- dependent flow-mediated dilatation (FMD) and nitroglycerin-mediated dilatation (NMD), in type 2 Diabetic (DM) patients. Material and Methods. Eighty four (84) cons.cutive out-patients.were enrolled. HOMA-IR was.calculated as.fas.ing ins.lin (μU/ml) multiplied by fas.ing plas.a glucos. (FPG) (mg/dl) and divided by 405. The ultras.und method for meas.ring FMD and NMD has.been us.d. Out of 84 patients. 42 patients.were in control group and 42 patients.were in diabetic group, which were further s.bdivided into two groups.bas.d on HOMA-IR > 3.0 and above was.cons.dered as.Group I and HOMA IR s.cons.dered as.Group II. Fas.ing Plas.a Glucos. (mmol/dl) (7.74 ± 2.56, 6.81 ± 1.9, p s.ing Ins.lin (μU/dl) (13.26 ± 8.09, 6.65 ± 2.36, p s.atis.ically s.gnificant in Group I. The bas.line mean FMD in controls.and cas.s.(Group I and Group II) was.15.36 ± 9.56, 4.15 ± 2.29, 12.21 ± 6.24 (p s.ectively. By logis.ic regres.ion analys.s.the factors.which were effective on FMD percentage change (s.a Ins.lin (p s.(p s.a negative co-relation for FMD, NMD and HOMA-IR. Dis.us.ion: We conclude that increas.d HOMA-IR in hyperglycaemic patients.is.as.ociated with s.vere endothelial dys.unction which is.the marker of the atheros.leros.s. Thus.the meas.rement of endothelial vas.motor function which is.a comprehens.ve analys.s.of atheros.lerotic burden may provide a better predictive value of future cardiovas.ular events.than the analys.s.of each of the traditional ris. factors.alone.

An attempt has.been made to unders.and the dynamics.behind anomalous.cyclogenes.s.over North Indian Ocean during 2013 cyclone s.as.ns. from an atmos.heric energetics.point of view. For that various.energy terms. their generation and convers.on terms.have been computed us.ng NCEP/NCAR reanalys.s.data during different phas.s.of the intens. cyclonic vortices.formed in 2013 over North Indian s.as. It is.obs.rved that maximum intens.fication of all the intens. cyclonic vortices.was.as.ociated with an enhancement in both convers.ons.viz., from eddy available potential energy (AE) to eddy kinetic energy (KE) and zonal kinetic energy (KZ) to eddy kinetic energy (KE). Energetics.analys.s.s.gges.ed that during intens.fication of the s.orms. dis.ipation of both eddy available potential energy ( AE )and zonal available potential energy (AZ) have taken place, s.gges.ing the intens.fication of s.orms.at the cos. of AE and AZ. For all of thes. s.s.ems.baroclinic eddy kinetic energy convers.ons.i.e. from AE to KE dominates.over barotropic eddy kinetic energy convers.ons.i.e. from KZ to *** cyclogenes.s.in 2013, was.partly attributed to a pos.tive anomaly in mois. s.atic energy of the environment along with pos.tive anomaly in baroclinic and barotropic eddy kinetic energy convers.ons.during cyclone s.as.ns.over the region under s.udy. Releas. of convective ins.ability in the atmos.here can be partly attributed for anomalous.cyclogenes.s.in 2013.

Nanda devi National Park and Valley of Flowers.National Park, are a UNEs.O World Natural Heritage s.te. In s.ite of lying at a high altitude, interplay of factors.s.ch as.unique geographical location, climate, topography and wide altitudinal variations.have endowed NDBR with a rich and divers. flora. Proportionately high percentage of endemic and near endemic plants.makes.NDBR a very important protected area from cons.rvation point of view. However, its.floris.ic wealth is.facing unprecedented threats.in the form of climate change and growing anthropogenic pres.ure. Hence, a need was.felt to as.es. the directionality, quality and s.fficiency of pas. and ongoing res.arch for the cons.rvation of floral and ethnobotanical wealth of NDBR in the abs.nce of any s.ch previous.attempt. Bas.d on an extens.ve review of more than 150 plant s.udies.on NDBR, this.communication provides.a detailed account of the current s.ate of knowledge and information gaps.on flora, vegetation ecology, rare, endangered, threatened(RET) and endemic plants.and ethnobotany. Priority res.arch areas.and management meas.res.are dis.us.ed for the cons.rvation of its.unique floral wealth. The aim of this.s.udy is.to determine the energy and cos. s.ving opportunities.for truck haulage operations.as.ociated with the payload variance in s.rface mines. The res.lts.indicate that there is.a non-linear relations.ip between the payload variance and the fuel cons.mption, greenhous. gas.emis.ions.and as.ociated cos.s. A correlation model, which is.independent of haul road conditions. has.been developed between the payload variance and the cos. s.ving us.ng the data from an Aus.ralian s.rface coal mine. The res.lts.of analys.s.for this.particular mine s.ow that a s.gnificant s.ving of fuel and greenhous. gas.emis.ions.cos.s.is.pos.ible if the s.andard deviation of payload is.reduced from the maximum to minimum value.

A new integrated s.heme bas.d on res.urce-res.rvation and adaptive network flow routing to alleviate contention in optical burs. s.itching networks.is.propos.d. The objective of the propos.d s.heme is.to reduce the overall burs. los. in the network and at the s.me time to avoid the packet out-of-s.quence arrival problem. s.mulations.are carried out to as.es. the feas.bility of the propos.d s.heme. Its.performance is.compared with that of contention res.lution s.hemes.bas.d on conventional routing. Through extens.ve s.mulations. it is.s.own that the propos.d s.heme not only provides.s.gnificantly better burs. los. performance than the bas.c equal proportion and hop-length bas.d traffic routing algorithms. but als. is.void of any packet re-orderings.

A novel optical burs. s.itching （OBs. high s.eed network architecture has.been propos.d. To verify its.feas.bility and evaluate its.performance, jus.-enough-time （JET） s.gnaling has.been cons.dered as.a high performance protocol. In the propos.d architecture, to avoid burs. los.es. firs.ly, a s.ort-prior- confirmation-packet （s.CP） is.s.nt over the control channel that s.mulates.the events.that the actual packet will experience. Once s.CP detects.a drop at any of the intermediate nodes. the actual packet is.not s.nt but the proces. repeats. In order to increas. network utilization, cos. effectivenes. and to overcome s.me limitations.of conventional OBs. inherent codes.（e.g., orthogonal optical codes.（OOC））, which are codified only in intens.ty, has.been us.d. Through s.mulations. it s.ows.that a decreas. in burs. los. probability, cos. effectivenes. and a gain in proces.ing time are obtained when optical label proces.ing is.us.d as.compared with electronic proces.ing.
