In the last decade,substantial progress has been made in understanding the molecular mechanisms involved in the initial host responses to viral ***-viral infections can provoke an inflammatory cytokine response,however,the innate pathogen-sensing mechanisms that transduce the signal for this response are poorly *** recent years,it has become increasingly evident that the Toll-like receptors(TLRs),which are germline-encoded pattern recognition re-ceptors(PRRs),function as potent sensors for *** can induce the activation of the innate immunity by recruiting specific intracellular adaptor proteins to initiate signaling pathways,which then culminating in activation of the nuclear factor kappa B(NF-κB)and interferon-regulatory factors(IRFs)that control the transcription of genes encoding type I interferon(IFN I)and other inflammatory ***,activa-tion of innate immunity is critical for mounting adaptive immune *** parallel,common mechanisms used by viruses to counteract TLR-mediated responses or to actively subvert these pathways that block recog-nition and signaling through TLRs for their own benefit are *** findings have demonstrated that TLR2 plays a crucial role in initiating the inflammatory process,and surprisingly that the response TLR2 trig-gers might be overzealous in its attempt to counter the attack by the *** this review,we summarize and discuss the recent advances about the specific role of TLR2 in triggering inflammatory responses in herpes-virus infection and the consequences of the alarms raised in the host that they are assigned to protect.

The main objective of this paper is to examine the influences of both the principal wave direction and the directional spreading parameter of the wave energy on the wave height evolution of multidirectional irregular waves over an impermeable sloping bottom and to propose an improved wave height distribution model based on an existing classical *** numerical model FUNWAVE 2.0,based on a fully nonlinear Boussinesq equation,is employed to simulate the propagation of multidirectional irregular waves over the sloping *** of wave heights derived from wave trains with various principal wave directions and different directional spreading parameters are *** show that both the principal wave direction and the wave directional spread have significant influences on the wave height evolution on a varying coastal *** shoaling effect for the wave height is obviously weakened with the increase of the principal wave direction and with the decrease of the directional spreading *** the simulated data,the classical Klopman wave height distribution model is improved by considering the influences of both *** is found that the improved model performs better in describing the wave height distribution for the multidirectional irregular waves in shallow water.

BACKGROUND：Several studies have demonstrated that Kallikrein gene transfer provides neuroprotection. Whether the neuroprotective effects of human tissue Kallikrein （HTK） are associated with apoptosis remains unclear. OBJECTIVE： To investigate the effects of HTK on apoptosis in the peripheral cerebral infarct region. DESIGN, TIME AND SETTING： The completely randomized grouping, gene engineered, controlled experiment was performed at the lin Baixin Laboratory Center, the Second Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-sun University between September 2007 and April 2008. MATERIALS： Ninety clean, healthy, male, Sprague Dawley rats were included. pUC19-HTK plasmid was constructed in the Laboratory for Neurology, the Second Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University, China. bcl-2, bax, caspase-3, and β-actin were designed and purified by Shanghai Shuiyuan Company, China. METHODS： Middle cerebral artery occlusion （MCAO） model was established in all rats. At 72 hours after MCAO model establishment, rats were randomly divided into 3 groups, with 30 rats per group： blank control, saline, and pAdCMV-HTK. The saline and pAdCMV-HTK groups were respectively stereotactically micro-injected with 5 μL physiological saline or pAdCMV-HTK at the area surrounding the cerebral infarction region. Only puncture was performed, without any injection, in the blank control group. MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES： At 72 hours after MCAO establishment, as well as at 24 hours, 72 hours, and 7 days subsequent to treatment, exogenous HTK expression was detected by immunohistochemistry. Apoptosis was examined by terminal deoxynucleotidyl transferase-mediated dUTP nick-end labeling （TUNEL）, while mRNA levels of bcl-2, bax, and caspase-3 were detected by reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction. In addition, neurological severity scores were evaluated prior to and after treatments. RESULTS： Ninety rats were included in the final analysis. The Mo substrate with Zr interlayer,namely composite substrate,was employed to solve the problem of crack formation in the freestanding diamond film *** diamond films deposited on the composite substrates by the direct current arc plasma jet chemical vapor deposition（CVD） method were investigated with scanning electron microscopy（SEM）,X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy （XPS）,X-ray diffraction（XRD）,and Raman *** addition,the stress distribution during the large area freestanding diamond film deposition on the composite substrate was analyzed based on the finite element model *** results reveal that Zr interlayer can be easily destroyed during the post-deposition cooling process,which is helpful for stress release and crack avoiding in diamond films.

BACKGROUND： Hypoxic tissue surrounding the ischemic core may represent the ischemic penumbra following cerebral infarction. However, some studies have shown that the duration of ischemic tissue is longer than previously believed. OBJECTIVE： To clarify whether cerebral hypoxic tissue could survive long-term and whether it is altered in rats following cerebral infarction; to establish an ischemiaJreperfusion model in which hypoxic tissue exists for extended periods of time. DESIGN, TIME AND SE＇I-I＇ING： A completely randomized grouping and controlled experiment was performed at the Experimental Animal Center of Sun Yat-sen University and Medical Research Center, the Second Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University between June and December 2008. MATERIALS： 4,9-diaza-3,3,10,10-tetramethyldodecan-2, 11 -dione dioxime （BnAO）（HL91）, used as the hypoxic marker for autoradiography, was supplied by the Beijing Syncor Star Medicinal, China, and the flesh eluent Na99TcmO4 to mark HL91 was supplied by Guangzhou Medical Isotope Center of the China Institute of Atomic Energy. 2-（2-nitro-1H-imidazole-l-yl）-N-（2,2,3,3,3-pentafluoropropyl） acetamide （EF5） and its antibody ELK3-51, used as a hypoxic marker for immunofluorescence, were supplied by the University of Pennsylvania, USA. METHODS： Male Sprague Dawley rats were randomly divided into four groups： 1.5-hour ischemiaJreperfusion group （1.5 h IR）, 2-hour ischemiaJreperfusion group （2 h IR）, 3-hour ischemiaJreperfusion group （3 h IR）, and permanent ischemia （PI） group, with 21 rats in each group. The middle cerebral artery occlusion model was established using the intraluminal suture method, while reperfusion was performed by removing the suture at each observation time point. However, in the PI group, the suture was left in the artery. MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES： Area and average absorbance of fluorescence, representing hypoxic tissue, were measured by image-analysis. A new phenylethanoid glycoside,seulponisidc（1） was isolated from the aerial parts of Isodon sculponeatus（Vaniot） Kudo, along with six known compounds martynoside（2）,verbascoside（3）,（＋）-hydroxypinoresinol-8-O- β-D-glucoside（4）,cedrusin（5）, 7-megastigmene-3S,5R,6R,7E,9S-tetrol（6） and 4-oxo- β-ionol- β-D-glucopyranoside（7）.Their chemical structures were elucidated from physieochemical data and by acidic hydrolysis.
