Phlogopite solid-solutions have a wide pressure-temperature(P-T)stability field and are ubiquitous in a wide variety of geological settings,from deep lithosphere magmatic environments to upper crust metamorphic *** composition represents therefore a valuable physical-chemical archive and may provide important information regarding its crystallization and the petrogenesis of the *** this paper we examine the phlogopite phenocrysts from the well-known Fort Regent mica-bearing lamprophyre minette from ***(Island of Jersey,UK).Phlogopite phenocrystals from lamprophyres generally show normal-step and continuous compositional zoning,however those from the Fort Regent minette show a peculiar texture characterized by dark brown high-Ti(average TiO_(2)≈8.5 wt.%)cores enveloped by euhedral low-to mid-amplitude zonation due to oscillatory contents in Ti,Fe and ***-barometry modelling based on biotite-only composition yields relatively high P-T estimates(T≈970±54℃at P≈0.73±0.13 gPa)for cores whereas lower values(T≈790±54℃at P≈0.29±0.13 gPa)are obtained for the outer *** temperatures(T≈1075±54℃)but extremely high and anomalous pressure values(P≈1.82±0.13 gPa)are obtained for the yellowish inner *** combination of electron micro probe(EMP)analysis and single-crystal infra-red(FTIR)imaging in the OH-stretching region shows that the exceptional and oscillatory Ti contents are due to the Ti-vacancy substitution,typical of crystallization and growth processes of HP/HT *** imaging provides additional insight for this process,confirming the dominant dioctahedral nature for the Ti-Fe-rich cores and outer *** of thermobaric estimates obtained from the phlogopite compositiononly model,based on the fine-scale compositional evolution,shows that pressure-temperature values from low-Ti high-Mg domains should be carefully evaluated because the substitution mechanisms during the dark mica growth are not univocal

neuroimaging in atypical normal tension glaucoma:debating routine implementation in the absence of classic neurological findings

●AIM:To assess the necessity of neuroimaging in patients with neurological or atypical findings of normal tension glaucoma(nTg)who do not exhibit typical glaucoma manifestations.●METHODS:A retrospective analysis was conducted on 90 atypical nTg patients who underwent cranial magnetic resonance imaging(MRI)due to atypical *** demographic characteristics,clinical parameters,and radiological findings were recorded.●RESULTS:Among the patients,66.7%had abnormal radiology results,with the most common findings being gliosis(34.4%),sequelae of cerebrovascular events and vascular malformations(14.4%),and benign intracranial mass lesions(11%).non-glaucomatous visual field defects were more frequently observed in patients with abnormal neuroimaging ***,there were no significant differences in intraocular pressure,optic disc parameters,retinal nerve fiber layer thickness,and visual field indices between patients with normal and abnormal radiological *** mean age of the patients was ***,there was a significant age difference,with the abnormal radiology group having a higher median age(P=0.021).●COnCLUSIOn:The study highlights the importance of cranial imaging in older nTg patients to detect underlying pathologies and prevent *** suggests that neuroimaging may be warranted in nTg patients with atypical visual field defects incompatible with ***,routine neuroimaging in all nTg patients without classic neurological signs may not be necessary.

Combustion characteristics of low-quality lignite for different bed material sphericities in a circulating fluidized bed boiler:A numerical study

This study delves into the combustion behavior of various lignite types within a circulating fluidized bed boiler(CFBB),with a primary focus on the impact of different bed material sphericity ratios(0.5,0.7,and 0.9).Utilizing bed material with a sphericity ratio of 0.9 sourced from theÇan power plant and verified through experimentation,the research reveals several key ***,furnace temperatures tended to rise with higher sphericity ratios,albeit with variations between lignite types,particularly highlighting the complexity of this relationship in the case of gLI-Tunçbilek *** levels in the combustion chamber remained consistent across different sphericity ratios,indicating minimal influence on pressure *** combustion efficiency,especially at the bottom of the boiler,was observed at lower sphericity levels(0.5 and 0.7)forÇan lignite,as reflected in CO_(2) mole *** nO_(x) emissions generally decreased with lower sphericity,the sensitivity to sphericity varied by lignite type,with Ilgın lignite showcasing low nO_(x) but high SO_(2) emissions,underscoring the intricate interplay between lignite properties,sphericity,and ***,this study advances our understanding of CFBB combustion dynamics,offering insights valuable for optimizing performance and emissions control,particularly in lignite-based power.

Haemorrhage after thrombectomy with adjuvant thrombolysis in unknown onset stroke depends on high early lesion water uptake

Background and purpose In wake-up stroke,CT-based quantitative net water uptake(nWU)might serve as an alternative tool to MRI to guide intravenous thrombolysis with alteplase(IVT).An important complication after IVT is symptomatic intracerebral haemorrhage(sICH).As nWU directly implies ischaemic lesion progression,reflecting blood-brain barrier injury,we hypothesised that nWU predicts sICH in patients who had a ischaemic stroke undergoing thrombectomy with unknown *** Consecutive analysis of all patients who had unknown onset anterior circulation ischaemic stroke who underwent CT at baseline and endovascular treatment between December 2016 and October *** nWU was assessed on baseline *** primary endpoint was *** association of nWU and other baseline parameters to sICH was investigated using inverse-probability weighting(IPW)*** A total of 88 patients were included,of which 46 patients(52.3%)received *** median nWU was 10.7%(IQR:5.1–17.7).The proportion of patients with any haemorrhage and sICH were 35.2%and 13.6%.nWU at baseline was significantly higher in patients with sICH(19.1%vs 9.6%,pnd the median Alberta Stroke Program Early CT Score(ASPECTS)was lower(5 vs 8,png IPW,there was no association between IVT and sICH in unadjusted ***,after adjusting for ASPECTS and nWU,there was a significant association between IVT administration and sICH(14.6%,95%CI:3.3%to 25.6%,pnclusion In patients with ischaemic stroke with unknown onset,the combination of high nWU with IVT is directly linked to higher rates of *** ASPECTS for evaluating the extent of the early infarct lesion,quantitative nWU could be used as an imaging biomarker to assess the degree of blood-brain barrier damage in order to predict the risk of sICH in patients with wake up stroke.

For the first time, a highly crystalline porous shish-kebab structure with a high degree of crystallinity was obtained by using a combination of two methods for the formation of porous polymeric materials. A treatment procedure using supercritical carbon dioxide(sc CO_(2))was carried out for oriented ultrahigh molecular weight polyethylene(UHMWPE) films, which provided special conditions for the crystallization of dissolved UHMWPE macromolecules on the surface of oriented UHMWPE crystals. The prepared porous materials were investigated by scanning electron microscopy(SEM) and differential scanning calorimetry(DSC). The particularity of the obtained porous shish-kebab is the absence of the amorphous phase between lamellar crystals(kebabs). The obtained pores had an oval shape, and they were oriented in the orientation direction of the UHMWPE macromolecules. The pore size ranged from 0.05 μm to 4 μm. Controlling the conditions for the crystallization of the UHMWPE macromolecules using supercritical CO_(2) gives the possibility to control the size of both lamellar disks and pores formed.
