t.e Guanzhong Basin， locat.d in Shaanxi p.ovince， China， has abundant.geot.ermal resources in it. hint.rland. Focusing on t.p.cal t.ermal reservoir st.uct.ral unit.， namely t.e Xianli fault.st.p.(XL) and Xi'an dep.ession (XA)， t.is st.dy reveals t.e genesis of geot.ermal wat.r by combining hydrochemist.y and environment.l isot.p.s. t.e geot.ermal wat.rs of XL uniformly corresp.nd t. t.e Na-Cl t.p. wit. high cont.nt. of major ions， while t.e geot.ermal wat.r of XA has comp.ex hydrochemical t.p.s. t.e quart. geot.ermomet.r (wit. maximum st.am loss) and Na-K-Ca geot.ermomet.r are recommended for XL and t.e quart. geot.ermomet.r (wit. no and maximum st.am loss) and Na-K geot.ermomet.r for XA. t.eir t.mp.rat.re ranges are 99-159℃ and 93-146℃， resp.ct.vely. t.e circulat.on dep.0} of geofluids in XL and XA range from 2579 t. 4766 m and from 2541 t. 4330 m， wit. mean ap.arent.ages of 21543 and 20345 yr B.p.， resp.ct.vely. t.e geot.ermal wat.r in XL originat.s from a mixt.re of sediment.ry wat.r and ancient.infilt.at.on wat.r， and it. format.on mode was t.e vert.cal heat.conduct.on wit. cooling p.ocess. In cont.ast. t.e geot.ermal wat.r in XA originat.s from t.e dual p.ocess of cooling and mixing， wit. t.e p.ocess being dominat.d by ancient.infilt.at.on wat.r and sup.lement.t.on by modern infilt.at.on wat.r.

Zircons in t.ese rocks have been used t. const.ain t.e ages of p.ograde and UHp.met.morp.ism during subduct.on, and lat.r ret.ograde met.morp.ism during exhumat.on. Inherit.d （det.it.l） and met.morp.ic zircons were dist.nguished on t.e basis of t.ansmit.ed light.microscop., cat.odoluminescence （CL） imaging, t.ace element.cont.nt. and mineral inclusions. t.e dist.ibut.on of mineral inclusions combined wit. CL imaging of t.e met.morp.ic zircon make it.p.ssible t. relat. zircon zones （domains） t. different.met.morp.ic st.ges. Domain 1 consist. of rounded, oblong and sp.ndly cores wit. dark-luminescent.images, and cont.ins quart. eclogit. facies mineral inclusion assemblages, indicat.ng format.on under high-p.essure （Hp. met.morp.ic condit.ons of t.= 571-668℃ and p.=1.7-2.02 Gp.. Domain 2 always surrounds domain 1 or occurs as rounded and sp.ndly cores wit. whit.-luminescent.images. It.cont.ins coesit. eclogit. facies mineral inclusion assemblages, indicat.ng format.on under UHp.met.morp.ic condit.ons of t.= 782-849℃ and p.〉 5.5 Gp.. Domain 3, wit. gray-luminescent.images, always surrounds domain 2 and occurs as t.e out.rmost.zircon rim.
