Mechanism analysis of foam penetration in EPB shield tunnelling with a focus on FER and soil particle size

Parameters of foam penetration in earth pressure balance(EPB)shield tunnelling,such as permeability coefficients and penetration distances,significantly impact tunnel face ***,existing studies have faced inaccuracies in analysing these parameters due to imitations in experimental *** study addresses this issue by employing enhanced methods for a more precise analysis of foam *** involving three distinct sand types(coarse,medium,and fine)and three foam expansion ratios(FER)(10,15,and 20)are conducted using a modified model test *** from a novel computer vision-based method,the model test outcomes unveil two distinct foam penetration paths:liquid migration(L_(w))and bubble migration(L_(f)).Three penetration phases-namely,injection,blockage&drainage,and breakage—are identified based on L_(w)and L_(f)*** initial"injection"phase conforms to Darcy’s law and is amenable to mathematical *** foam with FER of 15 has the maximum viscosity and,hence the L_(f)and permeability in the penetration tests with FER of 15 are the lowest in the same *** bubble size distribution of foam with different FER shows minor ***,the characteristics of foam penetration vary due to the distinct particle size distribution(PSD)of different *** penetration creates low-permeability layers in both medium and fine sands due to the larger bubble size of the foam compared to the estimated pore sizes of medium and fine *** the coarse sand results in a different situation due to its large pore *** distinctive characteristics of foam penetration in different sand strata are notably shaped by FER,PSD,and pore size *** insights shed light on the complex interactions during foam penetration at the tunnel face,contributing valuable knowledge to EPB shield tunnelling practices.

The circular explosion wave produced by the abrupt discharge of gas from a high-temperature heat source serves as a crucial model for addressing explosion phenomena in compressible *** reflection of the primary shock and its propagation within a confined domain are studied both theoretically and numerically in this *** the assumption of strong shock,the scaling law governing propagation of the main shock is *** dimensionless frequency of reflected shock propagation is associated with the confined *** numerical simulation for the circular explosion problem in a confined domain is performed for *** the influence of confinement,the principal shock wave systematically undergoes reflection within the domain until it weakens,leading to the non-monotonic attenuation of kinetic energy in the explosion fireball and periodic oscillations of the fireball volume with a certain *** simulation results indicate that the frequency of kinetic energy attenuation and the volume oscillation of the explosive fireball align consistently with the scaling law.

Objective To investigate the effects of matrine on antigen presentation of dendritic cells(DCs),and to explore the pharmacological mechanism of matrine on anti-tumor *** Different concentrations(0,1,2,4,8 and 16µg/mL)of matrine were co-cultured with DCs,the harvested DCs were co-cultured with antigens of Lewis lung cancer(LLC)cells,and then DCs and T cells were co-cultured to produce DCs-activated killer(DAK)cells,which have significant tumor-killing *** expression of cytokines,mRNA and protein of toll-like receptors(TLRs)in DCs were detected by enzyme linked immunosobent assay,polymerase chain reaction and Western blot,*** the killing effect of DAK were measured by MTT *** matrine significantly increased the mRNA expression of TLR7,TLR8,myeloid differentiation factor 88(MyD88),tumor necrosis factor receptor-associated factor 6(TRAF-6)and IκB kinase(IKK),as well as the protein expression of TLR7 and TLR8,and up-regulated the levels of interleukin-12(IL-12),IL-6 and tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α),meanwhile,it also increased the expressions of MHC-II,CD54,CD80 and CD86 in ***-activated effector T cells had significant tumor-killing *** the concentration of matrine was more than 4µg/mL,all indices had significant difference(Pmatrine plays an anti-tumor role by regulating TLRs signal transduction pathway,promoting the secretion of inflammatory cytokines and enhancing immune function.

High-precision analytical solutions for Earth coverage of constellation equipped with reentry glide vehicles

quantifying Contribution of Recycled Moisture to Precipitation in Temperate Glacier Region,Southeastern Tibetan Plateau,China

Recycled moisture is an important indicator of the renewal capacity of regional water *** to the existence of Yulong Snow Mountain,Lijiang in Yunnan Province,southeast of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau,China,is the closest ocean glacier area to the equator in *** precipitation samples were collected from 2017 to 2018 in Lijiang to quantify the effect of sub-cloud evaporation and recycled moisture on precipitation combined with the d-excess model during monsoon and non-monsoon *** results indicated that the d-excess values of precipitation fluctuated between–35.6‰and 16.0‰,with an arithmetic mean of 3.5‰.The local meteoric water line(LMWL)wasδD=7.91δ^(18)O+2.50,with a slope slightly lower than the global meteoric water line(GMWL).Subcloud evaporation was higher during the non-monsoon season than during the monsoon *** tended to peak in march and was primarily influenced by the relative *** source of the water vapour affected the proportion of recycled *** to the results of the Hybrid Single-Particle Lagrangian Integrated Trajectory(HYSPLIT)model,the main sources of water vapour in Lijiang area during the monsoon period were the southwest and southeast *** the non-monsoon period,water vapour was transported by a southwesterly *** recycled moisture in Lijiang area between march and October 2017 was 10.62%.Large variations were observed between the monsoon and non-monsoon seasons,with values of 5.48%and 25.65%,*** differences were primarily attributed to variations in the advection of water *** recycled moisture has played a supplementary role in the precipitation of Lijiang area.

To overcome the inaccuracy problem of the traditional wedge evaluation of steel plates and strips caused by the ran-domness of the thicknesses of two local points and improve the reliability of the wedge index,the double-centroid method for the wedge evaluation was proposed,and a model based on the centroid theory was ***,an integral model for the discrete thickness values of the cross-section profiles was *** discussion focused on the distinct characteristics of the two-point method,asymmetric method,and double-centroid method in evaluating the asymmetric distribution of *** three methods were employed to evaluate the wedge values of both the theoretical and measured cross-sections of steel plates and strips,and the accuracies of three wedge evaluation models were analyzed and *** results showed that the double-centroid method objectively reflects the degree and variation characteristics of the wedge values of the cross-sections of steel plates and strips,and this method is feasible,reliable,and outstanding.

N-Heterocyclic carbene(NHC)-based cages have emerged as a prominent and dynamic research area within the research field of chemistry. Leveraging the distinctive electronic and steric properties of NHC ligands, the design, synthesis, and application of these corresponding cages have garnered substantial scholarly interest. In recent years, we have witnessed the successful fabrication of diverse NHC-based cages through a range of synthetic methodologies, which hold significant potential for applications in molecular recognition and catalysis. In this review, we delve into the foundational synthetic strategies that underlie the creation of NHC-based cages, employing approaches encompassing metal–NHC chelation, coordination assembly,and covalent bonding. Additionally, we compile the diverse applications of these cages within catalytic processes and molecular recognition. Lastly, we shed light on the current limitations of synthesis and outline future trends in the development of NHCbased cages.

Development of a novel signal restoration algorithm to eliminate the distorted components in space charge measurement excited by femtosecond laser irradiation

For the space charge measurement method with optical excitation for electrical insulation,the distortion of the excitation laser on the measurement signal and the accumulation of space charge have not been discussed *** experiment and simulation results show that three types of distorted components introduced by optical excitation can lead to distortion of the upper interface ***,the factors causing distortion of the measured signal and the formation mechanism are analysed.A virtual electrode potential compensation method and a distorted component extraction method are ***,an attenuation restoration and charge conversion correction factor is intro-duced,leading to a novel signal processing algorithm adapted to space charge optical measurement *** with the traditional algorithm,the novel algorithm has an error of less than 1%in the calculation of charge and electric field strength,with an increase in accuracy of 47.7%and 9.81%,*** applying the novel restoration algorithm,the comparison shows that the space charge accumulation does not change significantly under laser irradiation,verifying the reliability of the optical *** given algorithm can provide a theoretical and technical foundation for the realisation of the optical measurement method for space charge.
