Thermoacoustic instability phenomena often encounter in gas turbine combustors,especially for the premixed combustor design,with many possible detrimental results.As a classical experiment,the Rijke tube is the simplest and the most effective illustration to study the thermoacoustic instability.This paper investigates the active control approach of the thermoacoustic instability in a horizontal Rijke tube.What’s more,the radial basis function(RBF)neural network is adopted to estimate the complex unknown continuous nonlinear heat release rate in the Rijke tube.Then,based on the proposed second-order fully actuated system model,the authors present an adaptive neural network controller to guarantee the flow velocity fluctuation and pressure fluctuation to converge to a small region of the origin.Finally,simulation results demonstrate the feasibility of the design method.

Perovskite solar cells have reached a power-conversion efficiency(PCE) of 25.6%,showing great potential with reliable moisture and heat stability.Most results are achieved on small-area devices,using conventional thin-film processing technologies like spin-coating method.However,such approaches may not be upscaled for large-area substrates.Thus,strategies and materials need to be developed for manufacturing processing routes to realize future commercial photovoltaic fabrications.Notable results have been achieved on large-area perovskite solar cells.In this review,similarities and differences of large-area perovskite fabrication mechanisms between the various pathways are investigated,especially on the parameters affecting the nucleation and crystal growth kinetics.Moreover,the methods for large-area transporting layers and electrodes are discussed,and some key issues from cells to modules.Challenges and opportunities are proposed to pave the way of high-efficiency perovskite solar modules.

Sliding and spinning behaviors significantly affect the performance of rolling bearings,especially for dry-lubricated bearings,micro and macro sliding may lead to increased wear of the solid lubricating film.A unified rolling contact tribology analytical model is proposed for dry-lubricated angular contact ball bearings(ACBBs)considering the extreme conditions including high combined loads and rolling contact effects.A comprehensive solution framework is proposed to ensure the robustness of the model under different loading conditions.Equilibrium equations are solved to study the effects of friction coefficients,rotating speeds,and combined loads on the skidding and spinning characteristics of the ACBB.The results show that the rolling contact effects and combined loads significantly affect the skidding and spinning performance of the ACBB.Further analysis reveals that the skidding mechanism is related to the interaction between ball kinematical motion and traction forces.The developed analytical model is proved to more accurately predict the bearing kinematical and tribological behavior as it discards the raceway control hypothesis and considers the macro/micro-slipping,creepage,and self-spinning motions of the ball,which is validated using both the existing pure axial loading dry-lubricated ACBB model and the classical Jones–Harris model.The study would provide some guidance for the structure and lubrication design of dry-lubricated ACBBs.

Cadmium(Cd) contamination in soils is a global ecological threat. Conventional powdered biochar added to soil can temporarily immobilize Cd but is difficult to separate from soil, leading to secondary release of Cd and posing potential ecological and human health risks. The blocky biochar is also difficult to separate from the soil due to its fragile nature. One of the keys to overcome the difficulties in separating biochar from soil is to improve its mechanical strength. Blocky zeolite-biochar composites(ZBC) that have good mechanical strength were obtained after pyrolyzing the mixture of 50% feedstock and 50% zeolite powder at 400 ℃. ZBC and NaOH-activated ZBC(ZBC_a) were applied to remove Cd from soil. After sieving Cd-loaded ZBC and ZBC_a from soil, the bioavailable Cd content in the soil decreased by 59.70% and 68.54%,respectively. Zeolite contributed to improving both adsorption performance and mechanical properties of the composites. After repeating the process of “remediation-sieving-desorption-regeneration” three times, the recoveries of ZBC and ZBC_a were above 97.00%, and regeneration rates were 48.70-83.26%,respectively. Under simulated mechanical sieving conditions, ZBC and ZBC_a lost only 4.06% and 5.40%of their mass and retained their integrity. Remediation of Cd-contaminated soil with blocky zeolitebiochar composite is sustainable and safe because the removal of bioavailable Cd from soil is permanent rather than a temporary decrease of bioavailability. This study provides a reference for the preparation of separable and recyclable adsorbents for the removal of contaminants from soil.

Screw conveyors are extensively used in modern industry such as metallurgy,architecture and pharmaceutical due to their high-efficiency in the transportation of granular materials.And substantial efforts have been devoted to the study of the screw conveyors.Numerical method is an effective way to study screw conveyor.However,previous studies have mainly focused in the regime of spherical particles while the in-depth investigations for non-spherical particles that should be the most encountered in practical applications are still limited.In view of the above situations,discrete element method(DEM),which has been widely accepted in simulating the discrete systems,is utilized to investigate the conveying process of non-spherical particles in a horizontal screw conveyor,with particles being modeled by super-ellipsoids.In addition,a wear model called SIEM(Shear Impact Energy Model)is incorporated into DEM to predict the wear of screw conveyor.The DEM simulation results demonstrate that the particle shape is influential for the flow behaviors of particles and the wear of conveyor.The conveying performance evaluated quantitatively of both mass flow rate and power consumption is subsequently obtained to investigate the effect of sphericity of particle with different operation parameters.Moreover,particle collision frequency and collision energy consumption are acquired to investigate the possible particle breakage between particles and screw blade.The comparisons between particle-particle collision and particle-wall collision reveal that particles with large shape index have more possibility to be damaged in particle-wall impingement.

A functional neuron has been developed from a simple neural circuit by incorporating a phototube and a thermistor in different branch circuits.The physical field energy is controlled by the photocurrent across the phototube and the channel current across the thermistor.The firing mode of this neuron is controlled synchronously by external temperature and illumination.There is energy diversity when two functional neurons are exposed to different illumination and temperature conditions.As a result,synapse connections can be created and activated in an adaptive way when field energy is exchanged between neurons.We propose two kinds of criteria to discuss the enhancement of synapse connections to neurons.The energy diversity between neurons determines the increase of the coupling intensity and synaptic current for neurons,and the realization of synchronization is helpful in maintaining energy balance between neurons.The first criterion is similar to the saturation gain scheme in that the coupling intensity is increased with a constant step within a certain period until it reaches energy balance or complete synchronization.The second criterion is that the coupling intensity increases exponentially before reaching energy balance.When two neurons become non-identical,phase synchronization can be controlled during the activation of synapse connections to neurons.For two identical neurons,the second criterion for taming synaptic intensity is effective for reaching complete synchronization and energy balance,even in the presence of noise.This indicates that a synapse connection may prefer to enhance its coupling intensity exponentially.These results are helpful in discovering why synapses are awaken and synaptic current becomes time-varying when any neurons are excited by external stimuli.The potential biophysical mechanism is that energy balance is broken and then synapse connections are activated to maintain an adaptive energy balance between the neurons.These results provide guidance for designing and training intellige

Full matrix focusing method of ultrasonic phased array has been proved with advantages of good signal-to-noise ratio and imaging resolution in the field of Ultrasonic NDT.However,it is still suffering from the time-consuming data acquisition and processing.In order to solve the problem,two simplified matrix focusing methods are provided in the paper.One provided method is a triangular matrix focusing algorithm based on the principle of reciprocity for the multi-channel ultrasonic system.The other provided method is a trapezoidal matrix focusing algorithm based on the energy weight of the different channel to the focusing area.Time of data acquisition and computational is decreased with the provided simplified matrix focusing methods.In order to prove the validity of two provided algorithms,both side-drilled holes and oblique cracks are used for imaging experiments.The experimental results show that the imaging quality of the triangular matrix focusing algorithm is basically consistent to that of the full matrix focusing method.And imaging quality of the trapezoidal matrix focusing algorithm is slightly reduced with the amount of multi-channel data decreasing.Both data acquisition and computational efficiency using the triangular matrix focusing algorithm and the trapezoidal matrix focusing algorithm have been improved significantly compared with original full matrix focusing method.
