A new Ni+Zr co-alloyed FeCrAl-ODS(oxide-dispersion-strengthened)ferritic alloy was fabricated by ball-milling and hot-isostatic-pressing.Using electron microscopy and atom probe tomography,the dispersive formation of high density core-shelled nano-particles of various sizes was confirmed with a common B2-NiAl shell.Among which,median-sized nano-particles(20-50 nm)typically have an Y_(4)Al_(2)O_(9)nano-core ofmatrix.No large Y--Al-O nano-oxides were formed.The total number density of ultra-fine nano-particles was estimated as~2×10^(23)m^(-3)with a mean size of 6.3 nm only,and accordingly,the new alloy achieved an excellent combination of strength and ductility at high temperatures.

Trace metal elements: a bridge between host and intestinal microorganisms

Trace metal elements, such as iron, copper, manganese, and zinc, are essential nutrients for biological processes. Although their intake demand is low, they play a crucial role in cell homeostasis as the cofactors of various enzymes. Symbiotic intestinal microorganisms compete with their host for the use of trace metal elements. Moreover, the metabolic processes of trace metal elements in the host and microorganisms affect the organism's health. Supplementation or the lack of trace metal elements in the host can change the intestinal microbial community structure and function. Functional changes in symbiotic microorganisms can affect the host's metabolism of trace metal elements. In this review, we discuss the absorption and transport processes of trace metal elements in the host and symbiotic microorganisms and the effects of dynamic changes in the levels of trace metal elements on the intestinal microbial community structure. We also highlight the participation of trace metal elements as enzyme cofactors in the host immune process. Our findings indicate that the host uses metal nutrition immunity or metal poisoning to resist pathogens and improve immunity.

0 INTRODUCTION Gold has been historically functioned as a strategic commodity,serving as a hard currency for international reserves,and increasingly plays a pivotal role in modern electronic communications,aerospace,and other high-tech industries.A range of geological processes (e.g.,magmatic activity,regional metamorphism,tectonic event) can result in formation of different types of gold deposits hosted in various through time.Based on tectonic background and genetic model,gold deposits can be classified into orogenic-,porphyry-,epithermal-,Carlin-,IOCG-(iron-oxide copper-gold)(IOCG),VMS-(volcanogenic massive sulfide),and SEDEX-(sedimentary exhalative) gold types (Kerrich et al.,2000).

The cytochrome P450 proteins(CYP450s)have been implicated in catalyzing numerous important biological reactions and contribute to a variety of diseases.CYP26A1,a member of the CYP450 family,carries out the oxidative metabolism of retinoic acid(RA),the active metabolite of vitamin A.Here we report that CYP26A1 was dramatically upregulated in the spinal cord after spinal nerve ligation(SNL).CYP26A1 was mainly expressed in spinal neurons and astrocytes.HPLC analysis displayed that the content of all-trans-RA(at-RA),the substrate of CYP26A1,was reduced in the spinal cord on day 7 after SNL.Inhibition of CYP26A1 by siRNA or inhibition of CYP26A1-mediated at-RA catabolism by talarozole relieved the SNL-induced mechanical allodynia during the maintenance phase of neuropathic pain.Talarozole also reduced SNL-induced glial activation and proinflammatory cytokine production but increased anti-inflammatory cytokine(IL-10)production.The RA receptors RARα,RXRβ,and RXRγwere expressed in spinal neurons and glial cells.The promoter of Il-10 has several binding sites for RA receptors,and at-RA directly increased Il-10 mRNA expression in vitro.Finally,intrathecal IL-10 attenuated SNL-induced neuropathic pain and reduced the activation of astrocytes and microglia.Collectively,the inhibition of CYP26A1-mediated at-RA catabolism alleviates SNL-induced neuropathic pain by promoting the expression of IL-10 and suppressing glial activation.CYP26A1 may be a potential therapeutic target for the treatment of neuropathic pain.

Four new phenolic glycosides,including two flavonoid glycosides(1 and 2) and two lignan glycosides(3 and 4),were isolated from the traditional Chinese medicine formula,Baoyuan decoction.Their structures were established by detailed analysis of the NMR and HR-ESI-MS spectroscopic data and their absolute configurations were determined by the experimental electronic circular dichroism data as well as chemical methods.Furthermore,the sources of the four new compounds were determined by the UPLC-Qtrap-MS method,which proved that 1 and 2 are originated from Glycyrrhiza uralensis,and 3 and4 are from Cinnamomum cassia.

Comparison of semi-coke with traditional pulverized coal injection and iron ore sintering fuels based on chemical structure and combustion behavior

Substantial semi-coke has been produced through the industrialized low-temperature pyrolysis process,which has great potential as an alternative fuel for pulverized coal injection(PCI)and iron ore sintering.X-ray diffraction,Raman spectroscope,and thermal analysis were used to compare the carbon chemical structure and combustion reactivity of semi-coke,pulverized coal,and coke breeze.The results show that the average volatile matter content in 46 types of semi-cokes is 8.94 wt.%.The fluctuation range of the characteristic parameters of the semi-coke chemical structure is d_(002)=(0.352–0.379)nm and A_(D1)/A_(G)=(2.51–7.92),while the fluctuation range of the characteristic parameters of pulverized coal is d_(002)=(0.348–0.373)nm and A_(D1)/A_(G)=(1.71–9.03)(where d_(002)means the interlayer spacing between the aromatic planes,and A_(D1)/A_(G)is an index that characterizes the degree of disorder of the char structure through the area ratio of the defect peak band D1 to the perfect graphite peak band G);the overlap between these ranges is relatively high.Contrarily,the fluctuation range of the characteristic parameters of coke breeze is d_(002)=(0.343–0.350)nm and A_(D1)/A_(G)=(0.75–2.51),which is markedly different from that of semi-coke.Semi-coke combustion reactivity is close to that of pulverized coal,but considerably better than that of coke breeze.In terms of chemical structure and combustion reactivity,semi-coke can be used as an alternative fuel for PCI;however,when used for sintering alternative fuel,matching of the heat supply and demand in the later sintering stage must be scrupulously analyzed.

The effects of magnesium(Mg)on the microstructure and properties of 440C stainless bearing steel melted under pressurized conditions were studied.Adding Mg improved the cleanliness of molten steel,modified the inclusions in steel,enhanced the distribution of carbides,and improved the mechanical properties and corrosion resistance of experimental steel.In detail,the contents of TO,S,and N in steel decreased from 0.0013 to 0.0003 wt.%,from 0.0032 to 0.0018 wt.%and from 0.0088 to 0.0049 wt.%,respectively.In addition,the transformation order of oxide inclusions in steel is Al_(2)O_(3)→MgO∙Al_(2)O_(3)→MgO,where the content of Mg in steel sharply increased from 0.00 to 29×10^(-4),81×10^(-4),and 160×10^(-4)wt.%,and the transformation order of S-containing inclusions in steel is MnS→Mg–S–Mn(–MgO)→Mg–O–S.Moreover,the number and size of inclusions and the proportion of large-size inclusions in steel decreased rapidly.Furthermore,the network structure of carbides in steel collapsed,the size of carbides was reduced,and the distribution was more uniform.Finally,the tensile strength,impact toughness,and pitting corrosion resistance of the experimental steel were significantly improved.

magnetic expanded graphite(EG)hybrids were synthesized by co-intercalation polymerization of aniline together with transition metal ions.Experimental results show that metal ions(Fe,Co,Ni,Cu)and even their mixtures can co-intercalate into graphite interlayers with flexibly controllable ratios and contents.Among these co-intercalation compounds,Fe/Ni-intercalated graphite with a predesigned mole ratio of 1:3 transforms into NiFe_(2)O_(4)/FeNi_(3)@EG during the annealing process.The synthesized magnetic EG hybrids present multiband microwave absorption in C and X bands due to improved impedance match as well as significantly enhanced interfacial polarization relaxation induced by multi-componential metals.The reflection values of−39.1 dB at 6.95 GHz and−25.7 dB at 9.4 GHz are achieved with an ultra-low loading of 5 wt.%.This work provides a flexible approach for tuning the components and structures of magnetic EG hybrids,which may contribute to the development of microwave absorption materials with superior performances.

The proportion of industrial livestock in China has increased over the past 30 years,which increases animal performance but causes the decoupling of crop and livestock production.Here,we aimed to quantify nutrient flows,nutrient use efficiency,and nutrient losses in different livestock systems in the North China Plain based on the NUFER-farm model.Activity data were collected by face-to-face surveys on pig and dairy(41 livestock farms)during 2016-2018.The two systems included industrial farms and mixed smallholdings.In mixed smallholdings,4.0%and 9.6%of pig and dairy feed dry matter(DM)were derived from household farmland,but 4.8%and 9.3%of manure DM recycled to household farmland.Nutrient use efficiency in industrial farms was higher than in mixed smallholdings at animal level,herd level,and system level.To produce 1 kg N and P in animal products,nutrient losses in industrial pig farms(2.0 kg N and 1.3 kg P)were lower than in mixed pig smallholdings,nutrient losses in industrial dairy farms(2.7 kg N and 2.2 kg P)were slightly higher than in mixed dairy smallholdings.Liquid manure discharge in industrial farms was the main losses pathway in contrast to mixed smallholdings.This study suggests that feed localization can reduce nutrient surpluses at the district level.It is necessary to improve manure management and increase the degree of integrated crop-livestock in smallholdings.In industrial farms,it is desirable to increase the liquid manure recycling ratio through cooperating livestock and crop production at the district level.
