Biocalcification crisis in the continental shelf under ocean acidification

Ocean acidification(OA)is a persistent challenge for humans and is predicted to have deleterious effects on marine organisms,especially marine calcifiers such as coral and *** foraminifera is an important component of sediment in the continental shelf,while little is known about the impact of ocean acidification on benthic foraminifera both at the community and individual level and associated calcium carbonate *** conducted eight months continued culture experiment under the scenario of 400,800,1200 and 1600 ppm pCO_(2)gradients on living benthic foraminifera from four stations in the continental shelf of the West Pacific *** results showed OA had a negative effect on the abundance of benthic *** contrast,the diversity increased roughly under OA conditions implying OA might stimulate the emergence of rare species and promote community diversity to some *** addition,we confirmed that the offshore area wasn’t the refuge for benthic foraminifera while the nearshore one had more resistance to moderate *** species Protelphidium tuberculatum was the dominant species occupying on average 75%in all treatments and its shell diameter,weight and thickness showed a decrease,indicating the decrease of calcification of benthic foraminifera.A relationship between the weight of *** and pCO_(2)(R^(2)=0.96)was *** on the present work,calcareous benthic foraminifera deposited 8.57104 t calcium carbonate per year and this might reduce by nearly half and 90%under 800 and 1200 ppm scenarios,which indicates a biocalcification crisis under ongoing *** work shows an analogy for palaeoceanic OA and also provides new insights into the sediment of calcium carbonate in the future.

In this work,an SEIR infectious model with distinct general contact rates and infectious force in latent and recovered period is established,and the stability of the model is studied using theoretical and numerical ***,we derive the basic reproduction number R_(0),which determines whether the disease is extinct or ***,using the La Salle’s invariance principle,we show that the disease-free equilibrium is globally asymptotically stable and the disease always dies out when R_(0)librium is unstable and that the unique endemic equilibrium is locally asymptotically stable when R_(0)>***,through the method of autonomous convergence theorem,we obtain that the unique endemic equilibrium is globally asymptotically stable and the disease persists at this endemic equilibrium when R_(0)>***,numerical simulations are carried out to confirm the theoretical analysis.

Pure titanium dioxide （TiO2） particle materials were prepared by hydrolyzing titanium tetrachloride （TiCl4）. The microstructures of these materials were determined by X-ray diffraction （XRD）, accelerated surface area and porosimetry apparatus （BET）, and transmission electron microscopy （TEM）. The TiO2 materials obtained by calcinations under different temperatures distinctly revealed different microstructures in crystal structure type, surface area, pore size, pore volume and grain size. The relationship between the microstructure of the TiO2 materials and their electrorheological （ER） activity was investigated. Anatase titania particles have better ER performance than rutile titania particles. Amorphous TiO2 materials display higher ER activity than the crystalline titania materials. A large pore volume can be more advantageous in improving the ER effect of a particle material.

The effects of oil film on the rolled surface, including surface roughness and topography, were investigated during cold rolling of aluminum strips. Various mineral oils with viscosities from 0.10 to 1.6 Pa.s were used to obtain different oil film thicknesses. Results from experiment and calculation show that the thicker oil film protects the initial roughening surface so that it leads to an increase in roughness of the rolled surface, in particular when the surface roughness has the character of direction. The rolled surface roughness was determined by 2, which is the ratio of oil film thickness to the combined surface roughness. When 2 〉 3, the rolled surface roughness increases rapidly with the increase in oil viscosity, whereas the surface roughening has already occurred when 2 〈 3, but the increase of the rolled surface roughness with increasing viscosity is not distinct.

Effectively extracting lithium at a relatively low temperature from the slag produced by the pyrometallurgical treatment of spent lithium-ion batteries remains a great challenge,which limits the acquirement of ***,we proposed a eutectic system to roast slag at a lower temperature based on sodium sulfate-sodium chloride(Na_(2)SO_(4)-NaCl)binary eutectic *** optimal roasting conditions are as follows:the slag was roasted at 750℃with a(SO_(4)^(2-)+Cl^(-))/li+molar ratio of 5:1 for 120 *** by aqueous leaching 5 min at room temperature with a water/roasted samples mass ratio of 30:1,it can get 97.07%lithium extraction efficiency.

Laboratory research and pharmacoepidemiology provide support for metformin as a potential antitumor ***,the lack of a clear understanding of the indications of metformin limits its ***,we performed a genome-wide CRISPR knockout negative screen to identify potential targets that might synergize with ***-generation sequencing of pooled genomic DNAs isolated from surviving cells after 18 days of metformin treatment(T18)compared to those of the untreated cells at day 0(T0)yielded candidate *** of a group of cyclin-dependent kinases(CDKs),including CDK1,CDK4,and CDK6,confirmed the results of the *** treatment of the CDKs inhibitor abemaciclib with metformin profoundly inhibited tumor viability in vitro and in *** cell cycle parameters were not further altered under the combination treatment,investigation of the metabolome revealed significant changes in cell metabolism,especially with regard to fatty acid oxidation,the tricarboxylic acid cycle and aspartate *** changes appeared to be mediated through inhibition of the mTOR ***,our study suggests that the combination of CDKs inhibitor with metformin could be recognized as a potential therapy in future clinical applications.
