Aggregation-induced Emission Probe for Fluorescence/Photoacoustic Dual-modality Imaging and Photodynamic/Photothermal Treatment

The combination of near-infrared(NIR)fluorescence imaging(Fli)and photoacoustic imaging(PAI)can effectively compensate for each other’s inherent limitations,which can provide reliable and rich information on tumor biology.Therefore,the development of FL/PA dual-modality imaging probes is beneficial for achieving precision cancer diagnosis and treatment.Herein,we designed an efficient phototherapy agent methoxy bithiophene indene(OTIC),which was based on aggregation-induced emission(AIE)active fluorophores.To improve the water dispersion and enrichment of OTIC at the tumor site,OTIC nanoparticles(OTIC NPs)were prepared by a nanoprecipitation method.The balance between radiation and non-radiation energy dissipation was regulated by the strong donor-acceptor interaction and intramolecular motion.So OTIC NPs exhibited bright NIR fluorescence,photoacoustic signals,efficient generation of reactive oxygen species,and high photothermal conversion efficiency under NIR irradiation.Accurate imaging of the tumor and mice sentinel lymph nodes(SLNs)with OTIC NPs was visualized by NIR FL/PA dual-modal imaging.With the comprehensive imaging information provided by OTIC NPs in vivo,tumors were ablated under laser irradiation,which greatly improved the therapeutic efficacy.OTIC NPs would be possible to realize the precise guidance of FL/PA imaging for tumor treatment in the future clinical application.

Hepatitis B virus(HBV)reactivation is a clinically significant challenge in disease management.This review explores the immunological mechanisms underlying HBV reactivation,emphasizing disease progression and management.It delves into host immune responses and reactivation’s delicate balance,spanning innate and adaptive immunity.Viral factors’disruption of this balance,as are interac-tions between viral antigens,immune cells,cytokine networks,and immune checkpoint pathways,are examined.Notably,the roles of T cells,natural killer cells,and antigen-presenting cells are discussed,highlighting their influence on disease progression.HBV reactivation’s impact on disease severity,hepatic flares,liver fibrosis progression,and hepatocellular carcinoma is detailed.management strategies,including anti-viral and immunomodulatory approaches,are critically analyzed.The role of prophylactic anti-viral therapy during immunosuppressive treatments is explored alongside novel immunotherapeutic interventions to restore immune control and prevent reactivation.In conclusion,this compre-hensive review furnishes a holistic view of the immunological mechanisms that propel HBV reactivation.With a dedicated focus on understanding its implic-ations for disease progression and the prospects of efficient management stra-tegies,this article contributes significantly to the knowledge base.The more profound insights into the intricate interactions between viral elements and the immune system will inform evidence-based approaches,ultimately enhancing disease management and elevating patient outcomes.The dynamic landscape of management strategies is critically scrutinized,spanning anti-viral and immunomodulatory approaches.The role of prophylactic anti-viral therapy in preventing reactivation during immunosuppressive treatments and the potential of innovative immunotherapeutic interventions to restore immune control and proactively deter reactivation.

Labial inverse dilaceration of bilateral maxillary central incisors: A case report

BACKGROUND Dilaceration is a rare dental developmental anomaly characterized by an abrupt deviation along the longitudinal axis of the root in which an angulation forms between the root and the crown.Here,we report on dilacerated bilateral maxi-llary central incisors in mixed dentition.CASE SUMmaRY A 10-year-old girl presented with a chief complaint of unerupted central incisors.An oral examination and radiography provided the basis for a diagnosis of dilaceration of the maxillary central incisors.After surgical exposure of the impacted teeth,a button with an attached chain was applied to the palatal surface of teeth 11 and 21.After 8 mo,a button was bonded to the labial surface of the crown to fix an elastic chain and move the teeth toward the maxillary arch.Finally,a fixed appliance was applied to tooth alignment to Class 1 malocclusion using a 0.019×0.025-inch nickel-titanium wire.After 3 years of follow-up,the clinical findings and radiographic assessment showed that the roots had developed with vital dental pulp and healthy periodontium,were acceptable aesthetically,and showed no resorption.CONCLUSION The rare occurrences of dilacerated bilateral maxillary central incisors can be successfully treated through surgical exposure and orthodontics.

This highlight is inspired by a recent article in Nature Energy in which liu and co-workers [1] from Tsinghua University designed a new asymmetric lithium salt (i.e., lithium 1,1,1-trifluoro-N-[2-[2-(2-methoxy ethoxy)ethoxy]ethyl] methanesulfonamide (li FEA)) and applied it as a new lithium-salt additive in the conventional carbonate-based electrolyte,overcoming the incompatibility issue of carbonate electrolytes with lithium metal in lithium metal batteries (LMBs),even achieving a fast-charging feature.

VOC emitted by biopharmaceutical industries:Source profiles,health risks,and secondary pollution

The biopharmaceutical industry contributes substantially to volatile organic compounds(VOCs)emissions,causing growing concerns and social developmental conflicts.This study conducted an on-site investigation of the process-based emission of VOCs from three biopharmaceutical enterprises.In the workshops of the three enterprises,26 VOCs were detected,which could be sorted into 4 classes:hydrocarbons,aromatic hydrocarbons,oxygen-containing compounds,and nitrogen-containing compounds.Ketones were the main components of waste gases,accounting for 44.13%-77.85%of the overall VOCs.Process-based source profiles were compiled for each process unit,with the fermentation and extraction units of tiamulin fumarate being the main source of VOC emissions.Dimethyl heptanone,vinyl acetate,diethylamine,propylene glycol methyl ether(PGME),and benzene were screened as priority pollutants through a fuzzy comprehensive evaluation system.Ground level concentration simulation results of the Gauss plume diffusion model demonstrated that the diffusivity of VOCs in the atmosphere was relatively high,indicating potential non-carcinogenic and carcinogenic risks 1.5-2 km downwind.Furthermore,the process-based formation potentials of ozone and secondary organic aerosols(SOAs)were determined and indicated that N-methyl-2-pyrrolidone,dimethyl heptanone,and PGME should be preferentially controlled to reduce the ozone formation potential,whereas the control of benzene and chlorobenzene should be prioritized to reduce the generation of SOAs.Our results provide a basis for understanding the characteristics of VOC emission by biopharmaceutical industries and their diffusion,potentially allowing the development of measures to reduce health risks and secondary pollution.

The anodic electrooxidation of ethanol to value-added acetate is an excellent example of replacing the oxygen evolution reaction to promote the cathodic hydrogen evolution reaction and save energy.Herein,we present a colloidal strategy to produce Ni-Fe bimetallic alloy nanoparticles(NPs)as efficient electrocatalysts for the electrooxidation of ethanol in alkaline media.Ni-Fe alloy NPs deliver a current density of 100 ma·cm^(-2) in a 1.0 M KOH solution containing 1.0 M ethanol merely at 1.5 V vs.reversible hydrogen electrode(RHE),well above the performance of other electrocatalysts in a similar system.Within continuous 10 h testing at this external potential,this electrode is able to produce an average of 0.49 mmol·cm^(-2)·h^(-1) of acetate with an ethanol-to-acetate Faradaic efficiency of 80%.A series of spectroscopy techniques are used to probe the electrocatalytic process and analyze the electrolyte.Additionally,density functional theory(DFT)calculations demonstrate that the iron in the alloy NPs significantly enhances the electroconductivity and electron transfer,shifts the rate-limiting step,and lowers the energy barrier during the ethanol-to-acetate reaction pathway.

SciCN:A Scientific Dataset for Chinese Named Entity Recognition

Named entity recognition(NER)is a fundamental task of information extraction(IE),and it has attracted considerable research attention in recent years.The abundant annotated English NER datasets have significantly promoted the NER research in the English field.By contrast,much fewer efforts are made to the Chinese NER research,especially in the scientific domain,due to the scarcity of Chinese NER datasets.To alleviate this problem,we present aChinese scientificNER dataset–SciCN,which contains entity annotations of titles and abstracts derived from 3,500 scientific papers.We manually annotate a total of 62,059 entities,and these entities are classified into six types.Compared to English scientific NER datasets,SciCN has a larger scale and is more diverse,for it not only contains more paper abstracts but these abstracts are derived from more research fields.To investigate the properties of SciCN and provide baselines for future research,we adapt a number of previous state-of-theart Chinese NER models to evaluate SciCN.Experimental results show that SciCN is more challenging than other Chinese NER datasets.In addition,previous studies have proven the effectiveness of using lexicons to enhance Chinese NER models.Motivated by this fact,we provide a scientific domain-specific lexicon.Validation results demonstrate that our lexicon delivers better performance gains than lexicons of other domains.We hope that the SciCN dataset and the lexicon will enable us to benchmark the NER task regarding the Chinese scientific domain and make progress for future research.The dataset and lexicon are available at:https://***/yangjingla/SciCN.git.

CO_(2) hydrogenation to methanol over the copper promoted In_(2)O_(3) catalyst

The metal promoted In_(2)O_(3) catalysts for CO_(2) hydrogenation to methanol have attracted wide attention because of their high activity with high methanol selectivity.However,there was still no experimental confirmation if copper could be a good promoter for In_(2)O_(3).Herein,the Cu promoted In_(2)O_(3) catalyst was prepared using a deposition-precipitation method.Such prepared Cu/In_(2)O_(3) catalyst shows significantly higher CO_(2) conversion and space time yield(STY)of methanol,compared to the un-promoted In_(2)O_(3) catalyst.The loading of Cu facilitates the activation of both H_(2) and CO_(2) with the interface between the Cu cluster and defective In_(2)O_(3) as the active site.The Cu/In_(2)O_(3) catalyst takes the CO hydrogenation pathway for methanol synthesis from CO_(2) hydrogenation.It exhibits a unique size effect on the CO adsorption.At temperatures below 250℃,CO adsorption on Cu/In_(2)O_(3) is stronger than that on In_(2)O_(3),causing higher methanol selectivity.With increasing temperatu res,the Cu catalyst aggregates,which leads to the formation of weak CO adsorption site and causes a decrease in the methanol selectivity.Compared with other metal promoted In_(2)O_(3) catalysts,it can be concluded that the catalyst with stronger CO adsorption possesses higher methanol selectivity.

Clinical study of enhanced recovery after surgery in laparoscopic appendectomy for acute appendici

BACKGROUND Enhanced recovery after surgery(ERAS)protocol is a comprehensive manage-ment modality that promotes patient recovery,especially in the patients undergo-ing digestive tumor surgeries.However,it is less commonly used in the appen-dectomy.AIM To study the application value of ERAS in laparoscopic surgery for acute appen-dicitis.METHODS A total of 120 patients who underwent laparoscopic appendectomy due to acute appendicitis were divided into experimental group and control group by random number table method,including 63 patients in the experimental group and 57 patients in the control group.Patients in the experimental group were managed with the ERAS protocol,and those in the control group were received the tra-ditional treatment.The exhaust time,the hospitalization duration,the hospita-lization expense and the pain score between the two groups were compared.RESULTS There was no significant difference in age,gender,body mass index and Sunshine Appendicitis Grading System score between the experimental group and the con-trol group(P>0.05).Compared to the control group,the patients in the expe-rimental group had earlier exhaust time,shorter hospitalization time,less hospi-talization cost and lower degree of pain sensation.The differences were statis-tically significant(Plization time and reduce hospitalization costs.It is a safe and effective approach.

Oxidation Resistance of In Situ Reaction/Hot Pressing Synthesized Ti_(2)AlC-20%TiB_(2) Composite at 600-900℃in Air

The oxidation behavior and kinetics of Ti_(2)AlC-20vol.%TiB_(2) composite at 600-900℃ in air were investigated.The results showed that the oxidation kinetics of the composite followed a logarithmic law within the given temperature range,which indicated that the composites had excellent oxidation resistance.The selective oxidation of Al in Ti_(2)AlC was greatly enhanced,which facilitated the formation of a continuous and dense protective layer of Al_(2)O_(3).Meanwhile,the existence of molten B_(2)O_(3) inhibited the outward diffusion of Ti and inward diffusion of oxygen,which prevented the growth of anatase TiO_(2) at 600℃ and rutile TiO_(2) at 700-900℃.Therefore,the incorporation of TiB_(2) completely inhibited the abnormally rapid oxidation of bulk Ti_(2)AlC at 600℃ and improved its oxidation resistance at 700-900℃.
