The lack of a suitable rootstock to control scion growth has limited the development of high-density plantations in pear production, which is partly attributed to poor understanding of the dwarfing mechanism. In the present study, the rootstock of the dwarf-type pear (Pyrus betulaefolia)PY-9’ was identified and used as the material for anatomical ***-9’ grew to half the tree height of the normal cultivar Zhengdu’, along with fewer internodes and shorter length. Significant differences in growth rate betweenPY-9’ andZhengdu’ were detected at approximately 30 days after full bloom, which corresponded with the time of the greatest difference in water potential between the dwarf and normal ***-9’ showed a higher photosynthetic rate thanZhengdu’. Anatomical analysis showed thatPY-9’ had higher area ratios of both phloem and xylem and more developed vascular tissues thanZhengdu’. The three-dimensional reconstructed skeleton of the xylem from X-ray computed tomography scanning revealed greater intervessel connectivity inZhengdu’ than inPY-9’, which could contribute to the more vigorous growth ofZhengdu’. This study thus provides the first comparison of the microstructural properties of xylem elements between a dwarfing-type and vigorous-type pear rootstock, providing new insights into the dwarfing mechanism in pear and facilitating breeding of dwarf pear rootstocks to increase crop productivity.

Extreme ultraviolet(EUV)lithography with high numerical aperture(NA)is a future technology to manufacture the integrated circuit in sub-nanometer ***,source mask co-optimization(SMO)is an extensively used approach for advanced lithography process beyond 28 nm technology *** work proposes a novel SMO method to improve the image fidelity of high-NA EUV lithography system.A fast high-NA EUV lithography imaging model is established first,which includes the effects of mask three-dimensional structure and anamorphic ***,this paper develops an efficient SMO method that combines the gradient-based mask optimization algorithm and the compressivesensing-based source optimization algorithm.A mask rule check(MRC)process is further proposed to simplify the optimized mask *** illustrate that the proposed SMO method can significantly reduce the lithography patterning error,and maintain high computational efficiency.

A high-zinc composite,12vol%SiC/Al-13.3 Zn-3.27 Mg-1.07Cu(wt%),with an ultra-high-strength of 781 MPa was success-fully fabricated through a powder metallurgy method,followed by an extrusion *** effects of solid-solution and aging heat treat-ments on the microstructure and mechanical properties of the composite were extensively *** with a single-stage sol-id-solution treatment,a two-stage solid-solution treatment(470℃/1 h+480℃/1 h)exhibited a more effective solid-solution strengthen-ing owing to the higher degree of solid-solution and a more uniform *** to the aging hardness curves of the com-posite,the optimized aging parameter(100℃/22 h)was *** the aging temperature and time resulted in finer and more uniform nanoscale precipitates but only yielded a marginal increase in tensile *** fractography analysis revealed that intergranu-lar cracking and interface debonding were the main fracture mechanisms in the ultra-high-strength SiC/Al-Zn-Mg-Cu *** regions,such as the SiC/Al interface containing numerous compounds and the precipitate-free zones at the high-angle grain boundaries,were identified as significant factors limiting the strength enhancement of the *** compounds,including MgO,MgZn2,and Cu5Zn8,reduced the interfacial bonding strength,leading to interfacial debonding.

In this paper, we study hypersurfaces of H2× H2. We first classify the hypersurfaces with constant principal curvatures and constant product angle functions. Then we classify homogeneous hypersurfaces and isoparametric hypersurfaces, respectively. Finally, we classify the hypersurfaces with at most two distinct constant principal curvatures, as well as those with three distinct constant principal curvatures under some additional conditions.

Effects of U0126 on growth and activation of mitogen-activated protein kinases in Aspergillus fumigatus

Background Invasive aspergillosis （IA）, which is mainly caused by Aspergillus fumigatus （A. fumigatus）, is a major cause of morbidity and mortality in immunocompromised patients. Despite considerable progress in currently available antifungals the mortality still remains high in critically ill patients. U0126 which is a highly selective inhibitor of MEK1 and MEK2 in the RAF/MEK/ERK pathway in mammalian cells has been demonstrated to have an anti-proliferative role in cancer cells. The purpose of this study was to explore the role of U0126 on growth inhibition and activation of mitogen-activated protein kinases （maPKs） in A. fumigatus. Methods Germination percentage and hyphae growth in A. fumigatus treated with U0126 were observed and compared with untreated controls. Western blotting analysis was used to detect changes in activation of SakA, MpkA and MpkB. Results U0126 inhibited germination and hyphae growth in A. fumigatus and enhanced the phosphorylation of SakA and MpkA under oxidative stress. U0126 at 10 pmol/L did not block the activation of MpkB during nitrogen starvation stress. Conclusion U0126 shows promise as an antifungal candidate and the maPK pathway may be a possible antifungal drug target for A. fumigatus.

The spring atmospheric heat source(AHS)over the Tibetan Plateau(TP)has been suggested to affect the Asian summer monsoon and summer precipitation over South ***,its influence on the summer precipitation in Northeast China(NEC)remains *** connection between spring TP AHS and subsequent summer precipitation over NEC from 1961 to 2020 is analyzed in this *** illustrate that stronger spring TP AHS can enhance subsequent summer NEC precipitation,and higher soil moisture in the Yellow River Valley-North China region(YRVNC)acts as a *** spring,the strong TP AHS could strengthen the transportation of water vapor to East China and lead to excessive rainfall in the ***,soil moisture increases,which regulates local thermal conditions by decreasing local surface skin temperature and sensible *** to the memory of soil moisture,the lower spring sensible heat over the YRVNC can last until mid-summer,decrease the land–sea thermal contrast,and weaken the southerly winds over the East Asia–western Pacific region and convective activities over the South China Sea and tropical western *** modulates the East Asia–Pacific teleconnection pattern,which leads to a cyclonic anomaly and excessive summer precipitation over NEC.

Feature matching plays a key role in computer vision. However, due to the limitations of the descriptors, the putative matches are inevitably contaminated by massive *** paper attempts to tackle the outlier filtering problem from two aspects. First, a robust and efficient graph interaction model,is proposed, with the assumption that matches are correlated with each other rather than independently distributed. To this end, we construct a graph based on the local relationships of matches and formulate the outlier filtering task as a binary labeling energy minimization problem, where the pairwise term encodes the interaction between matches. We further show that this formulation can be solved globally by graph cut algorithm. Our new formulation always improves the performance of previous localitybased method without noticeable deterioration in processing time,adding a few milliseconds. Second, to construct a better graph structure, a robust and geometrically meaningful topology-aware relationship is developed to capture the topology relationship between matches. The two components in sum lead to topology interaction matching(TIM), an effective and efficient method for outlier filtering. Extensive experiments on several large and diverse datasets for multiple vision tasks including general feature matching, as well as relative pose estimation, homography and fundamental matrix estimation, loop-closure detection, and multi-modal image matching, demonstrate that our TIM is more competitive than current state-of-the-art methods, in terms of generality, efficiency, and effectiveness. Aging treatments are the key process to obtain satisfactory strength for 7xxxAl alloys and their composites. However, traditional single-stage(SS) aging is time-consuming to reach a peak strength condition. In this study, an efficient 120℃ + 160℃ two-stage(TS) aging treatment was proposed on a B_4C/7A04Al composite fabricated via powder metallurgy(PM) technology, which could acquire similar peak-aging strength but only took about 15% of the time compared to traditional 120℃ SS aging. The evolution of precipitation during the TS aging was investigated, as well as those of the 7A04Al alloys for comparison. In the second stage aging process, the higher aging temperature accelerated the nucleation of η′ phases inside the grains and thus increased the density of precipitates. Moreover, the short aging time limited the coarsening of precipitates and the broadening of precipitatefree zones. The above factors were beneficial for quickly obtaining satisfactory precipitation strengthening effects. The B_4C/7A04Al composite exhibited slower aging kinetics than the 7A04Al alloy in the TS aging. Mg elements consumption by the chemical reaction between B impurities introduced by B_4C particles and the Al matrix was considered to potentially retard the aging kinetics of the B_4C/7A04Al composite. Nevertheless, the precipitation sequence was not affected.
