Evolution of People Living with HIV and AIDS in medical Consultation at 17 ESOPE Sites in mali

Despite the efforts made by the malian government with technical and financial partners in the fight against HIV and AIDS, there are no data on the evolution of people with HIV in medical consultation in antiretroviral treatment sites. The objective of this work is to fill this gap by generating factual data describing the evolution of the number of people with HIV in medical consultation in mali. To achieve this goal, we conducted a cross-sectional study using data from the Coordination Unit of the Sectoral Committee for AIDS Control of the ministry of Health and Public Hygiene. Sampling was comprehensive including all people living with HIV. The data collected concerned those of the years 1999 to 2014 by the ESOPE software and analyzed with Stata version 12. A Total of 39,619 people were enrolled in the study. And 26,212 people living with HIV in the 17 ESOPE sites of mali were female. Patients aged 25-34 and 35-44 years were strongly represented in consultation in the years 2007 and 2011, and those aged 15-24 were the least frequent. HIV1 was the most dominant with 97%. The majority of patients presented for initial consultation were clinical stages 2 and 3 in all years. Cases of lost sites seen in the more common in hospitals are 62.79% at the Hospital of mopti and 57% at the University Hospital of Point G. The number of cases of people living with HIV in medical consultation has progressively augmented from 1999-2007. Then it dropped from 2008-2010. After this number has increased by 2011, it dropped again in 2012-2014. This study made it possible to note the evolution of the patients in medical consultation in ESOPE antiretroviral treatment sites according to the years and events (safe, subsidized by activities by the global fund). The activities of sensitization and communications, case research should be strengthened by involving the community.

Despite their biodegradability and economic advantage, plant leaves used as packaging can constitute a public health problem. The aim of this study was to characterize the microbial diversity contaminating plant leaves used as food packaging. In total, two hundred and forty (240) samples composed of Thaumatococcus daniellii and musa paradisiaca leaves were collected and analyzed. microbial diversity was assessed using specific medium and biochemical tests. The resistance profile was determined by the müeller-Hinton agar diffusion method. The resistance (blaSHV, blaImP, blaTEm) and biofilm formation (pslA, pelA) genes were searched by PCR method. Plant leaves were contaminated by bacterial (68.7%) and fungal (100%) strains. Extreme bacterial (7.1 log10 cfu/cm2) and fungal (3.5 log10 cfu/cm2) loads were obtained on Thaumatococcus daniellii leaves. Bacterial prevalence was 45.1% (S. aureus), 38.8% (E. coli) and 16.1 (P. aeruginosa). In order of decreasing importance, the prevalence of fungal species was 41.1% (A. flavus), 33.1% (A. fumigattus), 13.7% (A. niger) and 12.1% Candida sp. Resistance of E. coli to penicillins ranges from 31.6% to 87.3% and to cephalosporins from 13.3% to 28%. The P. aeruginosa strains were mainly resistant to aztreonam (87.6%). Those of S. aureus showed resistance to tetracycline (67.6), vancomycin (53), erythromycin (44.6) and levofloxacin (32.7). The blaSHV (14.28% to 18.60%) and blaImP (9.52% to 16.28%) genes were detected in the bacterial strains. P. aeruginosa strains (19.05%) harbored the pslA and pelA genes. The health safety of these biodegradable plant-based packaging contributes to their valorization.

DNA testing for biological relationships is becoming increasingly common in Burkina Faso. STR analysis remains the most reliable technique for resolving disputes or claims in court regarding biological relationships. This study aimed to establish the links of biological relationships between subjects by analyzing 21 STR loci. The participants were 14 individuals referred to CERBA by the Justice in 2022. Oral or blood samples were taken for each subject. DNA was extracted, and the analysis of DNA polymorphism by PowerPlex® 21 Kit (Part No. DC8902) was performed by capillary electrophoresis on the ABI PRISm 3130 sequencer. DNA profiles were compiled using the Genemapper IDX software version 1.2. Of the fourteen subjects examined, twelve of these samples had complete genetic profiles, while the other two had partial and absent profiles. The results confirmed the inclusion of three cases of Paternity, one case of maternity, one case of a relationship of brotherhood, and the exclusion of one case of maternity and one case of a relationship of brotherhood. DNA tests improve the resolution of filiations, but they require ethical and cultural awareness and a strengthened legal framework to prevent and protect society.

针对微小钻头工作时容易折断的问题,依据转子动力学理论,利用Timoshenko梁-轴单元,建立了微孔钻床主轴系统的动力学模型。该模型考虑了钻头在切削时主轴-钻夹头-微钻头系统的偏心、钻削轴向力、系统转动惯性力、陀螺力矩和轴承等因素对微弯曲变形的影响。利用该模型确定了钻头的危险截面,分析了钻头夹持长度、轴承刚度、轴承阻尼、主轴转速、系统偏心、钻削轴向力以及钻削扭矩等因素对危险截面应力的影响。最后提出了避免微小钻头折断的措施,可用于指导微小孔钻床的设计和生产实践。

Vegetation types and climate conditions reflected by the modern phytolith assemblages in the subalpine Dalaoling Forest Reserve, central China

This research describes modern phytolith records and distributions from subalpine surface soils in the Dalaoling Forest Reserve, and reveals its implications for local climate conditions with respect to the altitude gradient. Well-preserved phytolith morpho-types, assem- blages, and climatic indices were used to study the relationship between local vegetation and climate condi- tions. The phytolith classification system is mainly based on the characteristics of detailed morpho-types described for anatomical terms, which are divided into seven groups： long cells, short cells, bulliform cells, hair cells, pterido- phyte type, broad-leaved type, and gymnosperm type. Phytoliths originating from the Poaceae are composed of Pooideae （rondel and trapeziform）, Panicoideae （bilobate, cross, and polylobate）, Chloridoideae （short/square sad- dle）, and Bambusoideae （oblong concave saddle）. Based on the altitudinal distribution of the phytolith assemblages and the indices of aridity （Iph）, climate （Ic）, and tree cover density （D/P）, five phytolith assemblage zones have revealed the five types of climatic conditions ranging from 1,169 m to 2,005 m in turn： warm-wet, warm-xeric to warm-mesic, warm- xeric to cool-mesic, cool-xeric, and cool-mesic to cool-xeric. The Bambusoideae, Panicoideae, and Chloridoideae are the dominant vegetation at the lower-middle of the mountains, while Pooideae is mainly distributed in the higher mountains. The close relationship between phytolith assembleages and changes of altitude gradient suggest that vegetation distribution patterns and plant ecology in the Dalaoling mountains are controlled by temperature and humidity conditions. Our results highlight the importance ofphytolith records as reliable ecoclimatic indicators for vegetation ecology in subtropical regions.

Influences of the Textured Surface micro-Texture Depth on the Friction Coefficient

The use of textured surfaces in lubrication to improve the tribological characteristics has been widely studied. The understanding of the textured surface geometric parameters influences on these tribological characteristics could help to improve their applications in industry. In this paper, we purpose to analyze the influence of the micro-texture depth on the friction coefficient experimentally. The experiment is conducted using different copper alloy samples have been the first laser textured with different micro-hole depth (40.83 μm and 46.36 μm). A 3D electronic Olympus microscope is used to visualize the shapes of the holes and find the depths. Then, the friction test has been conducted using these samples with the same velocity. The time variation of the friction coefficient is plotted and analyzed. The analysis of time variation of the friction coefficient shows a reduction of friction coefficient with the increase of the micro-hole depth has been observed. In some cases, this reduction is significant.

Cardiovascular Disorders during HIV-AIDS in the Point G University, Hospital Internal medical Service

The number of HIV-infected patients in the world is estimated at 34 million, including 30.1 million adults with 2.7 million new infections and 1.8 million deaths from HIV according to the 2011 UN AIDS report [1]. The prevalence of HIV infection in the general population of mali is estimated at 1.1% according to DHSm-V [2]. Cardiovascular manifestations are increasingly encountered during our consultations with patients living with HIV. Thus we initiated this work with the aim of studying the cardiovascular lesions during the HIV-AIDS in the department of internal medicine of the point G. methods: This retrospective descriptive study was conducted in the Internal medicine department of the University Hospital Center (CHU) of the Point G from January 2008 to December 2012. Having included all HIV + patients hospitalized in the service with cardiovascular manifestations and who had performed a chest X-ray, cardiac and vascular ultrasound, electrocardiogram and/or cerebral computed tomography. Results: At the end of this work, 20 patients with cardiovascular lesions were identified in 273 hospitalized patients during the study period, i.e. a frequency of 7.3%. The 40 to 50 age group accounted for 45.0% with an average age of 42.4 ± 8.73 years. The most common cardiovascular risk factors were hypertension and active smoking with 31.58% each. Pericarditis accounted for 32% of cases, followed by cardiomyopathies with 23%. Conclusion: In our study, cardiovascular lesions are common in PHAs and etiologies are dominated by pericarditis.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to determine HIV prevalence among participants admitted to the delivery room and recent birth attendants. Materials and Methods: This was a descriptive, cross-sectional, analytical study, with a prospective collection from February 1, 2018 to January 31, 2019 at fousseyni Daou Hospital in Kayes, Mali. Results: During our study period, we recorded 4269 deliveries. HIV-positive patients known before labour accounted for 0.21%. Present-day power conversion and conditioning systems focus on transferring energy from a single type of power source into a single type of load or energy storage system (ESS). While these systems can be optimized within their specific topology (e.g. mPPT for solar applications and BmS for batteries), the topologies are not easily adapted to accept a wide range of power flow operating conditions. With a hybrid approach to energy storage and power flow, a system can be designed to operate at its most advantageous point, given the operating conditions. Based on the load demand, the system can select the optimal power source and ESS. This paper will investigate the feasibility of combining two types of power sources (main utility grid and photovoltaics (PV)) along with two types of ESS (ultra-capacitors and batteries). The simulation results will show the impact of a hybrid ESS on a grid-tied residential microgrid system performance under various operating scenarios.
