Oxaliplatin(Oxa) is the first-line chemotherapeutic drug for the treatment of colorectal cancer(CRC). However, long-term Oxa chemotherapy can induce inflammation and increase the levels of cyclooxygenase-2(COX-2) and prostaglandin E2(PGE2), which can promote tumor metastasis. moreover,high glutathione(GSH) levels in CRC cells significantly reduce Oxa sensitivity and seriously restrict the clinical application of Oxa. Herein, an Oxa(Ⅳ) prodrug with anti-inflammatory properties(desmethyl naproxe, DN) and GSH-depleting cyclodextrin pseudo-polyrotaxane carriers were prepared and further self-assembled into micellar nanoparticles(designated DNPt@PPRI). The relesae of DN from DNPt@PPRI can reduce the level of PGE2 to inhibit inflammation and tumor metastasis by decreasing COX-2 protein,and also synergize with Oxa to inhibit tumor. more importantly, GSH depletion can reduce the detoxification of Oxa and further enhance chemotherapy-induced apoptosis. DNPt@PPRI have a good GSH depletion ability to enhance the sensitivity of Oxa, indicating a potential in the synergistic chemotherapy and chemo-sensitization of colorectal cancer.

Wax obtained from the pyrolysis of polyethylene waste can contain inorganic contaminants and must be purified before *** evaluated different filter aids(perlite,sand,and rice husk ash)for the filtration of a crude wax and a pyrolysis wax through a filter medium that was coated with nylon 6 nanofibers to improve filtration *** first examined the performance of the filter aids in improving crude wax filtration,with the filtration time,temperature,and pressure held constant at 1 h,170℃,and 2.5 bar,*** wax was then produced by pyrolysis of high-density polyethylene(HDPE)waste in the temperature range 425-475℃.The best filter aid was perlite,which had a filtrate production rate of 5.47×10^(-5)m^(3)/*** highest oily wax yield(87.8%)was achieved at a pyrolysis temperature of 425℃.The assembly comprising the filter medium coated with nylon 6 nanofibers plus perlite as a filter aid was most suitable for removing impurities from the oily wax generated by the HDPE pyrolysis as it achieved a purification efficiency of 99.9%.

Cables and wires, which are essential parts of equipment for the transmission of both information and electricity, contain valuable materials including copper (Cu) and aluminum (Al). This experimental work evaluates the use of mechanical processing (grinding and sieving), followed by spouted bed elutriation, for separation of the valuable materials (steel-coated copper, copper, and aluminum) present in waste coaxial and internet cables. A recovery efficiency of approximately 90% was achieved for the steel-coated copper in coaxial cables. For in ternet cables, the copper recovery efficiency was approximately 87%. These findings dem on strate that it is possible to separate, recover, and recycle the valuable materials (metals) present in waste cables using simple, low-cost, and efficient mechanical processing followed by spouted bed elutriation.

Evaluation of creep properties of the welded joint through taking local fluctuation of the mechanical properties into consideration is experimentally or analytically seldom carried out. The purposes of the present study are to examine the surface strain distribution in the weld metal of a full thickness welded joint specimen and subsequently to investigate the local variation in the properties of the all-weld metal part of the joint using miniature specimens. A welded joint was prepared for 316FR steel plates by gas tungsten arc welding process using mod. 316L filler wire. Creep tests were conducted at 823K in air using full thickness large welded joint specimens, HAZ and all-weld metal miniature specimens. From the results obtained, it is concluded that the creep properties of multi-layer welded joints strongly depend on the location of specimen sampling.

Tobacco smoking is an important risk factor for the development of severe ***,we showed that nicotine affected mineralized nodule formation,and that nicotine andlipopolysaccharide stimulated the formation of osteoclast-like cells by increasing production of macrophagecolony-stimulating factor （m-CSF） and prostaglandin E2（PGE2） by human osteoblastic Saos-2 *** thepresent study,we examined the effects of nicotine on the expression of matrix metalloproteinases （mmPs）,tissue inhibitors of matrix metalloproteinases （TImPs）,the plasminogen activation system including thecomponent of tissue-type plasminogen activator （tPA）,urokinase-type PA （uPA）,and PA inhibitor type 1（PAI-1）,α7 nicotine receptor,and *** also examined the effect of the nicotine antagonist D-tubocurarineon nicotine-induced expression of *** expression was examined using real-time polymerase chainreaction （PCR） to estimate mRNA *** addition,expression of the mmP,TImP,uPA,tPA,and PAI-1proteins was determined by Western blotting *** treatment caused expression of mmP-1,2,3,and 13,but not mmP-14,to increase significantly after 5 or 10 d of culture;mmP-14 expression did notchange through day *** of mmP-1 expression by nicotine treatment was eliminated bysimultaneous treatment with *** the presence of nicotine,expression of uPA,PAI-1,orTImP-1,2,3,or 4 did not change over 14 d of culture,whereas expression of tPA increased significantly byday *** also increased expression of the α7 nicotine receptor and c-fos *** results suggestthat nicotine stimulates bone matrix turnover by increasing production of tPA and mmP-1,2,3,and 13,thereby tipping the balance between bone matrix formation and resorption toward the latter process.

Previous studies have indicated that lipopolysaccharide（LPS）from Gram-negative bacteria inplaque induces the release of prostaglandin E2（PGE2）,which promotes alveolar bone resorption in periodontitis,and that tobacco smoking might be an important risk factor for the development and severity of *** determined the effect of nicotine and LPS on alkaline phosphatase（ALPase）activity,PGE2production,and the expression of cyclooxygenase（COX-1,COX-2）,PGE2receptors Ep1-4,and macrophage colonystimulating factor（m-CSF）in human osteoblastic Saos-2 *** cells were cultured with 10-3m nicotinein the presence of 0,1,or 10μg/ml LPS,or with LPS *** activity decreased in cells cultured withnicotine or LPS alone,and decreased further in those cultured with both nicotine and LPS,whereas PGE2production significantly increased in the former and increased further in the *** itself,nicotine did notaffect expression of COX-1,COX-2,any of the PGE2receptors,or m-CSF,but when both nicotine and LPSwere present,expression of COX-2,Ep3,Ep4,and m-CSF increased *** addition of10-4m indomethacin eliminated the effects of nicotine and LPS on ALPase activity,PGE2production,and m-CSF *** of protein kinase A was high in cells cultured with nicotine and *** suggest that LPS enhances the production of nicotine-induced PGE2by an increase in COX-2 expres-sion in osteoblasts,that nicotine-LPS-induced PGE2interacts with the osteoblast Ep4 receptor primarily inautocrine or paracrine mode,and that the nicotine-LPS-induced PGE2then decreases ALPase activity andincreases m-CSF expression.

In this Letter, we numerically simulate the generation of a 1–15 μm mid-infrared supercontinuum（SC） from a highly nonlinear Ge_（11.5）As24Se_（64.5）-based photonic crystal fiber（PCF）. This ultra-broadband SC is achieved in a100 mm long PCF pumped using 85 fs laser pulses operated at 3.1 μm and a peak pulse power of 3 k W. The proposed design offers a flat dispersion profile with two zero dispersion wavelengths. This broad and flat dispersion profile of the Ge_（11.5）As24Se_（64.5）PCF, combined with the high nonlinearity（2474 W-1km-1）, generates an ultra-broadband SC.
