Precision mass measurements of neutron-deficient 152Sm projectile fragments were conducted in 2005 at theFRS-ESR facility at GSI Helmholtz centre[1, 2], employing the time-resolved Schottky mass Spectrometry[3]. A newmass evaluation method has been developed in the data analysis. The systematic error in the mass determinationwas significantly reduced with the new method[4].Exotic nuclei, produced by projectile fragmentation of a 615 AmeV 152Sm primary beam in a 4.009 g/cm2beryllium target, were transmitted and B-separated by the fragment separator FRS and then injected and storedin the experimental storage ring ESR. In ESR the electron-cooling process was continuously applied to the storedions. To first order approximation, the revolution-frequencies (f) of the stored ions in the ESR are related to theirvelocities (v) and mass-to-charge ratios (m=q) of the ions in rest frame:

The study of structure of few-electron heavy ions is of important interest due to the strong field effects. Helium-like ions are the simplest atomic multi-body systems. A considerable improved precision has been made in both theory and experiments recently. The experiment exploits the radiative recombination (RR) transitions into the vacant 1 s shell of bare and H-like ions. The role of Bone Tissue Engineering in the field of Regenerative medicine has been the topic of substantial research over the past two decades. Technological advances have improved orthopaedic implants and surgical techniques for bone reconstruction. However, improvements in surgical techniques to reconstruct bone have been limited by the paucity of autologous materials available and donor site morbidity. Recent advances in the development of biomaterials have provided attractive alternatives to bone grafting expanding the surgical options for restoring the form and function of injured bone. Specifically, novel bioactive （second generation） biomaterials have been developed that are characterised by controlled action and reaction to the host tissue environment, whilst exhibiting controlled chemical breakdown and resorption with an ultimate replacement by regenerating tissue. Future generations of biomaterials （third generation） are designed to be not only osteo- conductive but also osteoinductive, i.e. to stimulate regeneration of host tissues by combining tissue engineer- ing and in situ tissue regeneration methods with a focus on novel applications. These techniques will lead to novel possibilities for tissue regeneration and repair. At present, tissue engineered constructs that may find future use as bone grafts for complex skeletal defects, whether from post-traumatic, degenerative, neoplastic or congenital/developmental ＂origin＂ require osseous reconstruction to ensure structural and functional integrity. Engineering functional bone using combinations of cells, scaffolds and bioactive factors is a promising strategy and a particular feature for future development in the area of hybrid materials which are able to exhibit suitable biomimetic and mechanical properties. This review will discuss the state of the art in this field and what we can expect from future generations of bone regeneration concepts.

Background:Thermal ablation of thyroid nodules is new modality for the management of the benign and malign *** minimally invasive treatment is performed as an outpatient,local anesthetic,single professional procedure that can treat neoplastic lesions without removing normal thyroid tissue and thus avoiding ***:A comprehensive review of the most relevant literature regarding the thermal ablation of benign and malign nodules was performed in order to currently define its role on the management of the nodular thyroid *** data was divided into benign and malign ***:The benign nodules can be effectively treated by radiofrequency ablation(RFA)but some limitation exists regarding the nodule’s size but not nodules *** RFA of primary malign tumors of the thyroid recently demonstrated positive and safe long-term follow-up and encouraged additional investigation and possibly a definitive role in the management of these low risk ***:RFA is a safe,cost-effective minimally invasive procedure that avoids thyroid tissue removal while destroying neoplastic one thus,preventing hypothyroidism.

Electric submersible pumps(ESP) boost pressure to maintain or increase flow rates in oil wells. ESPs are oriented vertically and include a pump section, a seal section and an electric motor. High cost of subsea installations and recurring failures in specific geographic regions are driving the need for developing ESPs with higher reliability and run life. This work focuses on the reliability of the pump section and a description of the research facilities and ongoing research programs at the Texas A&m Turbomachinery Laboratory. These programs include testing and modeling pump sections operating with multiphase fluids(water, air, sand), evaluating reliability of mechanical seals subjected to large vibration amplitudes and characterizing the static performance of process fluid-lubricated thrust bearings.
