Lake Chany is the largest endorheic lake in Siberia whose catchment is entirely on the territory of *** geographical location on the climate-sensitive boundary of wet and dry landscapes provides an opportunity to gain more knowledge about environmental changes in the West Siberian interior during the Holocene and about the evolution of the lake *** cores obtained from the Yarkov subbasin of the lake in 2008 have been comprehensively studied by a number of approaches including sedimentology and AmS dating,pollen,diatom and chironomid analyses(with statistical interpretation of the results),mineralogy of authigenic minerals and geochemistry of plant lipids(biomarker analysis.).Synthesis of new results presented here and published data provides a good justification for our hypothesis that Lake Chany is very young,no older than 3.6 ka *** that,between 9 and 3.6 ka BP,the Chany basin was a swampy landscape with a very low sedimentation rate;it could not be identified as a water *** the early lake phase,between 3.6 and 1.5 ka BP,the lake was shallow,1.2–3.5 m in depth,and it rose to its modern size,up to 6.5 m in depth,during the last *** data reveal important changes in the understanding of the history of this large endorheic lake,as before it was envisioned as a large lake with significant changes in water level since ca.14 ka *** addition to hydrology,our proxies provide updates and details of the regional vegetation and climate change since ca.4 ka BP in the WestSiberian forest-steppe and *** evolution of the Chany basin is dependent on hydroclimatic changes in a large region of southern West Siberia,we compare lake-level change and climate-change proxies from the other recently and most comprehensively studied lakes of the region.

Using the Phillips-Loretan approach, this paper verifies the degree and speed of pass- through and rigidity of different interest rates in China, as well as the response of private loan interest rates to other interest rates during 2002-2012. The results indicate that the long-term pass-through from the interbank offered rates and deposit and loan interest rates to the treasury bond rate is incomplete, but that the long-term pass-through to private loan interest rates is overshooting. The long-term pass-through from the deposit and loan interest rates to the overnight interbank offered rate is incomplete, while that to the interbank offered rates of other maturities is complete. The short-term passthrough and adjustment speed of interest rates exhibit asymmetry. Therefore, before considering a full liberalization of interest rates, it is important to further enhance the competition of the financial system and the function of different interest rate systems, such as the interhank market and bond market.

＜正＞Using a panel data of both audit firms and listed firms in China from 2001 to 2003, we examine the continuous relation between audit firm size and audit quality in China’s relatively competitive market for publicly listed *** find that larger auditors are more likely to issue modified opinions than smaller *** also find that larger auditors tend to enjoy a significant audit fee *** results indicate the existence of not only a positive but also a continuous relation between audit firm size and audit quality in the *** further examine the relation between the size of auditors and the listed firms’ corporate governance and offer evidence that the size of auditors is related positively to quality of corporate *** results suggest that auditing is a complement to various internal corporate control mechanisms in the listed firms.

The fatigue cracking behavior at twin boundaries(TBs)in a Co Cr Fe mn Ni high-entropy alloy with three different grain sizes was systematically investigated under low-cycle *** of grain size,the change from slip band cracking to TB cracking occurred with increasing the difference in the Schmid factors(DSF)between matrix and ***,the required critical DSF for the transition of the dominant cracking mode decreases with decreasing grain size due to the reduced slip band spacing that increases the impingement sites on the TBs and facilitates the coalescence of defects and voids to initiate TB cracks.

This study investigates the relationship between the persistence and the zonal scale of atmospheric dipolar modes(Dms). Results from the daily data of ERA5 and the long-term output of an idealized atmospheric model show that the atmospheric Dms with a broader(narrower) zonal scale dipolar structure possess a longer(shorter) persistence. A detailed vorticity budget analysis indicates that the persistence of a hemispheric-scale Dm(1/1 Dm) and a regional or sectoral Dm(1/8 Dm) in the model both largely rely on the persistence of the nonlinear eddy forcing. Linear terms can indirectly reduce the persistence of the anomalous nonlinear eddy forcing in a 1/8 Dm by modifying the baroclinicity via the arousal of anomalous vertical motions. Therefore, the atmospheric Dms with a broader(narrower) zonal scale possess a longer(shorter) persistence because the effects of the linear terms are less(more) pronounced when the atmospheric Dms have better(worse) zonal symmetry. Further analyses show that the positive eddy feedback effect is weak or even absent in a 1/8Dm and the high-frequency eddy forcing acts more like a concomitant phenomenon rather than a leading driving factor for a 1/8 Dm. Thus, the hemispheric-scale Dm and the regional or sectoral Dms are different, not only in their persistence but also in their dynamics.

The burgeoning demand for modern electronic devices and electric vehicles has driven the development of efficient,reliable,and environmentally friendly batteries[1,2].Lithium–sulfur(Li–S)batteries with high theoretical capacity(1672 mA h g1)and energy density(2600 W h kg1),have garnered significant interest in both academic and industrial research[3,4].However,the widespread production and commercialization of Li–S batteries are impeded by the inherent characteristics of sulfur and lithium,along with their complex electrochemical ***,challenges such as the polysulfide shuttle effect and the slow kinetics of the sulfur nucleation/decomposition reaction hinder capacity utilization and cycling *** overcome these challenges,innovative electrocatalyst strategies aimed at enhancing activity have been explored.

The learning curve for transurethral enucleation with bipolar energy for benign prostate hyperplasia:a single-surgeon experience of 494 patients

This study was performed to investigate the learning curve of transurethral enucleation with bipolar energy(TUEB)for benignprostatic *** study involved 494 consecutive patients who underwent TUEB for benign prostatic hyperplasia fromAugust 2018 to march 2022 by one surgeon(SJJ,Seoul National University Bundang Hospital,Seongnam,Korea).The patientswere followed up at 1 week,1 month,3 months,and 6 months *** evaluate the learning curve of TUEB,perioperativeparameters including the enucleation ratio(enucleated tissue weight/transitional zone volume),TUEB efficiency(enucleatedtissue weight/operation time),and enucleation efficiency(enucleated tissue weight/enucleation time)were *** and postoperative complications were also assessed,including the International Prostate Symptom Score(IPSS),IPSSquality-of-life(QoL)score,and uroflowmetry *** patients’median age was 72(interquartile range[IQR]:66–78)years,and the estimated prostate volume and transitional zone volume were 63.0(IQR:46.0–90.6)ml and 37.1(IQR:24.0–60.0)ml,*** enucleation ratio,TUEB efficiency,and enucleation efficiency were 0.60(IQR:0.46–0.54)g ml−1,0.33(IQR:0.22–0.46)g min−1,and 0.50(IQR:0.35–0.72)g min−1,respectively,plateauing after 70 *** functional outcomes,including total IPSS,IPSS QoL score,and uroflowmetry outcomes,significantly improved at 6 months after TUEB(all Pmplications after TUEB,21.5%of whom experienced major complications(Clavien–Dindo grade≥3).The rate of major complications declined as the number ofTUEB cases increased(P=0.013).Our results suggest that the efficiency of TUEB stabilized within 70 procedures.
