二维(2D)过渡金属氧化物(TmO)的地球丰度高,并且具有独特的物理化学性质和较好的催化性能,是新能源工业领域中非常有应用前景的电催化剂.然而,由于合成高质量和可控厚度的2D TmO具有一定的难度,目前有关2D TmO的微观电化学研究的报道较少.本文采用化学气相沉积法直接合成了2D钴铁氧体(CoFeO),所制得的2D CoFeO呈现结晶性良好的超薄尖晶石结构,其最薄厚度可达到6.8 nm.采用超微电极测试平台考察了碱性条件下2DCoFeO催化析氧反应(OER)的性能.结果表明,2D CoFeO(111)面在10 m Acm^(-2)的电流密度下表现出330 m V的低过电位,在570 m V的过电位下表现出142 m Acm^(-2)的高电流密度.密度泛函理论计算发现2DCoFeO表面上的双金属位点降低了反应能垒.此外,2DCoFeO的超薄厚度使体电阻率降低,同时增加了活性位点的利用率,进而提高了对OER的催化活性,这与在超微电极平台上测得的2D CoFeO厚度-OER活性依赖关系的结果一致.本研究还合成了大面积的2D CoFeO薄膜,其标准三电极体系研究表明2D CoFeO样品仍然表现出较高的催化OER活性和较好的寿命,说明所制备的2D CoFeO具有较好的实际应用潜力.综上,本文采用气相化学沉积法直接合成了超薄2DCoFeO纳米片,其最薄厚度可达6.8 nm,2DCoFeO表现出良好的OER性能,为2DTmOs电催化剂的可控合成开辟了新途径.此外,本文还分析了2DCoFeO电催化OER反应的机理,为二维电催化剂设计提供了新思路.

Abdominal compartment syndrome(ACS)develops when organ failure arises secondary to an increase in intraabdominal *** abdominal pressure is determined by multiple factors such as blood pressure,abdominal compliance,and other factors that exert a constant pressure within the abdominal *** conditions in the critically ill may increase abdominal pressure compromising organ perfusion that may lead to renal and respiratory *** surgical and trauma patients,aggressive fluid resuscitation is the most commonly reported risk factor to develop *** conditions that have also been identified as risk factors are ascites,hemoperitoneum,bowel distention,and large *** patients with abdominal trauma possess a higher risk of developing intra-abdominal hypertension(IAH).Certain surgical interventions are reported to have a higher risk to develop IAH such as damage control surgery,abdominal aortic aneurysm repair,and liver transplantation among *** monitoring of organ function and intra-abdominal pressure(IAP)allows clinicians to diagnose ACS rapidly and intervene with target-specific management to reduce *** decompression followed by temporary abdominal closure should be considered in all patients with signs of organ *** is still a great need for more studies to determine the adequate timing for interventions to improve patient outcomes.

Background Recently congenital infection with Schistosoma japonicum (S. japonicum) has been domonstrated in pigs, rabbits, mice and dogs. We explored the rabbit as an animal model for the congenital infection of schistosomiasis japonica and assessed the effect of a congenital S. japonicum infection on the resistance of rabbit kittens to a postnatal challenge *** Sixteen pregnant New Zealand white rabbits were infected with a single dose of S. japonicum cercariae. The exposed animals were divided into three groups according to the gestation age at the time of infection. Diagnosis of prenatally acquired S. japonicum infection in the rabbit kittens was primarily based on serological tests in combination with parasitological and histopathological findings. Congenitally infected kittens were challenged percutaneously with 100 S. japonicum cercariae to assess the effect of a congenital S. japonicum infection on kitten resistance to a postnatal challenge *** The overall prevalence of congenital infection in offspring of infected mothers was 20% (12/60). The congenital infection rate in group L (late gestation) was much higher than in group E (early gestation) and group m (mid-gestation) (Pm reduction rate, 41.45% egg reduction rate, and 51.76% granuloma size reduction rate compared to nave *** This study demonstrates the possibility of congenital infection of S. japonicum in rabbits and the resistance of congenitally infected kittens to a postnatal challenge infection. These results have important implications not only for epidemiological investigations, but also in designing government control programs for schistosomiasis.

Diabetes affects approximately 30 million persons in the United States. Diabetes ketoacidosis is one of the most serious and acute complications of diabetes. At the time of presentation and during treatment of diabetic ketoacidosis(DKA), several metabolic and electrolyte derangements can ultimately result in respiratory compromise. most commonly, hypokalemia, hypomagnesemia and hypophosphatemia can eventually lead to respiratory muscles ***, tachypnea, hyperpnea and more severely, Kussmaul breathing pattern can develop. Also, hydrostatic and non-hydrostatic pulmonary edema can occur secondary to volume shifts into the extracellular space and secondary to increased permeability of the pulmonary capillaries. The presence of respiratory failure in patients with DKA is associated with higher morbidity and mortality. Being familiar with the causes of respiratory compromise in DKA, and how to treat them, may represent better outcomes for patients with DKA.

Vertical Transmission of Schistosoma Japonicum in the Rabbit

The aim of the present study was to confirm observations on the vertical transmission of Schistosoma japonicum in the rabbit. S. japonicum- infected pregnant rabbits were used in this study. Perfusion of mother rabbits was done 9weeks after infection in order to obtain worm bur- dens in relation to their initial cercarial ***- schistosoma specific Ig m antibodies in serum samples collected from rabbit kittens were detected by EL *** results showed that gestation period lasted the norm al2 9- *** the exposed mother rabbits became infected with S. *** Ig m antibody OD values were detected in12 out of the6 0 kittens exam ined (2 0 .0 % ) . In group C and A,4 0 .0 % and 17.9% of the kitten were congenitally infected,re- spectively. 18.1% of the kittens born to mothers infected with a single dose of 2 0 0 cercariae per rabbit were positives;this is not significantly different from that obtained for the 6 0 0 dose group (2 2 .2 % ) .Three randomly selected Ig m+ kittens harbored between one and two adult worm s. The livers of these kittens displayed granulomatous lesions. It is concluded that congenital S. japonicum infection does occur in the rabbit and is affected by the m other stage of pregnancy and to a lesser extent by its infection load.

Diabetes mellitus (Dm) is a chronic metabolic disease and its prevalence has beensteadily increasing all over the world. Dm and its associated micro andmacrovascular complications result in significant morbidity and mortality. Themicrovascular complications are usually manifested as retinopathy, neuropathy,nephropathy and macrovascular complications generally affect the cardiovascularsystem. In addition to these complications, Dm also affects the lungs because of itsrich vascularity and abundance in connective tissue (collagen and elastin). Dmhas been found to cause microvascular complications and proliferation ofextracellular connective tissue in the lungs, leading to decline in lung function in arestrictive pattern. Interstitial lung disease (ILD) includes a diverse group ofdisease conditions characterized by different degrees of inflammation and fibrosisin the pulmonary parenchyma. Idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF) is one of thecommon type of idiopathic interstitial pneumonia with a high mortality rate. IPFis characterized by chronic progressive fibrosis leading to progressive respiratoryfailure. In this review we focus on lung as the target organ in Dm and theassociation of Dm and ILD with special emphasis on IPF.

Age at first marriage and its relation to fertility in Bangladesh

The 2007 Bangladesh Demographic and Health Survey(BDHS)data are exploited to examine the effects of socioeconomic and demographic factors on age at first marriage linkage to reproductive behavior of Bangladeshi *** mean age at first marriage of women is found to be 15.48 *** logistic regression technique shows that place of residence,religion,region,wealth index,education,and occupation are significantly important factors for determining age at first *** relationship between marriage and fertility suggests that women who marry at a younger age produce more children than women who marry *** of this study show that if the age at first marriage of adolescents is increased by 1 year,the age at first birth is postponed by 0.728 *** the increase in age at first marriage,the fecundability of women sharply rises,whereas the proportion of temporary sterility *** there is a positive association between age at first marriage and age-specific marital fertility rates,the total parity per woman at the end of the reproductive period is expected to reduce by 0.196 for each 1-year delayed marriage.

In this work a passively Q-switched dual-wavelength ytterbium-doped fiber laser using a titanium dioxide-based saturable absorber is proposed and proven. The system also utilizes a side-polished fiber in a ring cavity configuration to obtain the desired pulse train. A stable dual-wavelength pulse output is obtained at 1034.7and 1039.0 nm, with a maximum pulse energy of 2.0 n J, and a shortest pulse width of 3.2 μs. The generated pulse train is stable, and has a pulse repetition rate from 31.2 to 64.5 kHz.
