Effect of thinning on growth of Acer velutinum Boiss. in northern forests of Iran

It has become necessary to develop stands of fast growing endemic species in the Caspian forests because of their reduction in area and the domestic demand of timber processing industries in Iran. Acer velutinum, an endemic species in Iran, is often planted in monocultures or in a mixture with other endemic species. Our study was conducted on A. velutinum planted in Berenjestanak(control plots) and Chaibagh(thinned plots) in northern Iran in 1991. A randomized sampling method with circular sampling plots of 100 m2was used to measure diameter and height of trees. The results show that the diameter of trees in thinned stands was 19.98 cm and in the control stands 13.84 cm, while the mean heights were 18.33 and 17.46 m, respectively. The mean basal area in thinned stands was 30.74 m2and in the control 15.70 m2per ha. The results of student’s t tests indicate that there are significant differences at a probability level of 99.9% between the two variously treated stands in diameter(d), height(h), basal area, volume growth and the stability coefficient. We conclude that tending operations with suitable intensity in different time periods are recommended to obtain stable stands.

synchrotron microfocus small angle X-ray scattering was used to investigate the nanostructure and microscopic variation of eggshells. It uses a microbeam allowing the ability to probe interactions between the organic and inorganic components at nanometer level and is ideal for mapping over small areas to obtain a detailed analysis of structural variations. Thin sections of eggshells were scanned from the shell membrane （inner） to the cuticle （outer） surface. The data collected was used to produce two-dimensional maps showing microscopic changes within the different layers of the eggshell. The structural alterations ap- parently could have implications at the macroscopic level of the resulting eggshell. As the organic matrix is embedded within the eggshell this may contribute to the variations observed in calcite crystal form and texture, structural information obtained about a biomaterial at different length scales is important in relating the structure to its functional properties. This knowledge and the principles behind the formation of biomaterials could be used in the attempt of bioengineering new systems.

Background: Psoriasis is considered a common skin disease, marked by the production and elevation of inflammatory plaques that regularly shed scales resulting from extensive skin epithelial cell proliferation. T lymphocytes, neutrophils, and other leukocytes enter the irritated skin, resulting in epidermal keratinocyte hyperplasia, vascular hyperplasia, ectasia, and T lymphocyte, neutrophil other forms of leukocyte infiltration. Aim of the Work: the study aimed to investigate the role of IL-37 and VEGF gene expression in the pathogenesis of psoriasis in Egyptian patients. methodology: Polymerase chain reaction techniques (PCR) were applied to detect VEGF in the skin homogenates of psoriasis patients. In addition, the ELIZA technique was applied to investigate IL-37 in skin homogenates. One hundred cases have been divided into two groups: 50 healthy volunteers as the group I healthy control;50 psoriasis patients as group II. PCR real-time technology was assessed through extracted DNA samples for VEGF amplification in skin homogenate. Result: Our results revealed that psoriasis patients significantly had a substantial reduction in IL-37 compared to the control group (p Conclusion: There is a significant inverse association between IL-37 and VEGF in psoriasis patients. study findings revealed that IL-37 gene expression decreases while VEGF gene expression increases in psoriatic individuals. such a measurement may be beneficial in determining the severity of the condition, as well as taking into consideration of the disease’s diagnosis.

One-and multi-dimensional CWENOZ Reconstructions for Implementing Boundary Conditions Without Ghost Cells

The objective of this study was to compare the in vitro digestibility of wheat straw by rumen microorganisms of water buffalo of Khuzestan in Iran and Holstein *** vitro digestibility of dry matter(Dm) and neutral detergent fiber(NDF) was measured by procedure of Tilley and *** results of this experiment indicated that the Dm digestibility of wheat straw by rumen microbial population of Khuzestani buffalo was higher than that by rumen microorganism of Holstein cow(49.35 and 40.14 g/100 g,respectively)(Pstibility of wheat straw was 46.71 and 30.89 g/100 g for rumen microbial population of buffalo and cow,respectively(Psame diet,the Dm and NDF digestibility by rumen microorganism of Khuzestani buffalo was 1.22 and 1.51 folds higher than Holstein cow,respectively.

We address the issue of point value reconstructions from cell averages in the context of third-order finite volume schemes,focusing in particular on the cells close to the boundaries of the *** fact,most techniques in the literature rely on the creation of ghost cells outside the boundary and on some form of extrapolation from the inside that,taking into account the boundary conditions,fills the ghost cells with appropriate values,so that a standard reconstruction can be applied also in the boundary *** Naumann et al.(***.325:252–***://***/10.1016/***.2017.12.041,2018),motivated by the difficulty of choosing appropriate boundary conditions at the internal nodes of a network,a different technique was explored that avoids the use of ghost cells,but instead employs for the boundary cells a different stencil,biased towards the interior of the *** this paper,extending that approach,which does not make use of ghost cells,we propose a more accurate reconstruction for the one-dimensional case and a two-dimensional one for Cartesian *** several numerical tests,we compare the novel reconstruction with the standard approach using ghost cells.

This study aims to investigate the effect of sodium replacement on the quality characteristics of pastı*** this purpose,pastırma production with four different salt mixtures(Ⅰ.100%NaCl;Ⅱ.50%NaCl+50%KCl;Ⅲ.40%NaCl+40%KCl+20%CaCl_(2);Ⅳ.30%NaCl+40%KCl+20%CaCl_(2)+10%mgCl_(2))were carried out using traditional *** use of different salt mixtures for pastırma had no statistically significant effect on the microbial counts and residual nitrite of the final *** a*and b*values were affected by this *** salt mixture containing CaCl_(2) or CaCl_(2)+mgCl_(2) significantly decreased the pH values and sensory *** eighteen volatile compounds were affected by the salt ***^(+),K^(+),Ca^(2+),and mg^(2+)had a certain increase depending on their ratio in the salt *** highest Cathepsin activity in all pastırma samples was observed in Cathepsin B+*** salt mixture with NaCl+KCl+CaCl_(2)+mgCl_(2) increased acid lipase ***,this mixture had no significant effect on neutral lipase activity.
