A 2nd generation roof bolter canopy air curtain(CAC)design was tested by National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health(NIOSH)at a midwestern underground coal *** the study,the roof bolter never operated downwind of the continuous *** a combination of personal Data rams(pDr)and gravimetric samplers,the dust control efficiency of the roof bolter CAC was *** evaluation was determined using three methods:(1)comparing roof bolter operator concentrations underneath the CAC to roof bolter concentrations outside the CAC,(2)comparing roof bolter operator concentrations underneath the CAC to the concentrations at the rear of the bolter,and finally,(3)using the gravimetric data directly underneath the CAC to correct roof bolter operator concentrations underneath the CAC and comparing them to the concentrations at the rear of the *** 1 dust control efficiencies ranged from 53.9%to 60.4%.method 2 efficiencies ranged from 150.5%to 52.2%,and method 3 efficiencies ranged from 40.7%to 91%.reasons for negative and low dust control efficiencies are provided in this paper and include:incorrect sampling locations,large distance between CAC and operator,and contamination of intake air from line *** dust concentrations encountered during the testing made it difficult to discern whether differences in concentrations were due to the CAC or due to variances inherent in experimental dust ***,the analyses,especially the method 3 analysis,show that the CAC can be an effective dust control device.

A 3rd generation roof bolter canopy air curtain(CAC)has been developed and constructed by ***&Co.,*** with the previous generation of the CAC,this design uses the principle of providing uniform airflow across the canopy area as recommended by the National Institute for Occupational Safety and *** new modifications include a plenum that is constructed of a single flat aluminum plate,smaller-diameter airflow openings,and a single row of perimeter nozzles designed to prevent mine air contaminated by respirable dust from entering the CAC protection *** testing was conducted on this new 3rd generation design showing reductions in coal mine respirable dust exposure for roof bolter *** control efficiencies for the CAC for the left bolter operator(intake side)ranged from approximately 26%–60%,while the efficiencies for the CAC for the right bolter operator(return side)ranged from 3%to 47%.

Testing was completed on an earlier roof bolter CAC that used slots to provide a perimeter airflow. NIOSH tested it due to its unique design that differed from canopies that provided uniform airflow. Based upon NIOSH recommendations from the earlier testing, a 3rd generation roof bolter CAC has been developed by J.H. Fletcher & Co. The changes to this CAC involve design modifications to the plenum outlets, using a single row of outlets on the perimeter and a different material for the plenum. This laboratory testing was a continuation of the original perimeter slotted CAC design. Using gravimetric and instantaneous sampling of respirable dust concentrations underneath and outside of the CAC. the laboratory testing was completed using three different blower fans that delivered differing airflows. The maximum plenum airflow velocities ranged from 2.34 to 3.64 m/s (460-716 fpm). results showed plenum respirable dust concentrations ranging from 34.6% to 49.3% lower than respirable dust concentrations outside the plenum protection zone, thus showing an improvement in protection for the roof bolter operators.

Vehicular ad-hoc networks(VANETs)are mobile networks that use and transfer data with vehicles as the network ***,VANETs are essentially mobile ad-hoc networks(mANETs).They allow all the nodes to communicate and connect with one *** of the main requirements in a VANET is to provide self-decision capability to the *** memory,which stores all the previous routes,is used by the vehicles to choose the optimal *** networks,communication is *** cellular-based vehicle-to-everything(CV2X)communication,vital information is shared using the cooperative awareness message(CAm)that is broadcast by each *** are allocated in a distributed manner,which is known as mode 4 *** support vector machine(SVm)algorithm is used in the SVm-CV2X-m4 system proposed in this *** k-fold model with different values of k is used to evaluate the accuracy of the SVm-CV2Xm4 *** results show that the proposed system achieves an accuracy of 99.6%.Thus,the proposed system allows vehicles to choose the optimal route and is highly convenient for users.

Objective:To evaluate the anticancer activity of vanillin semicarbazone(VSC) against Ehrlich ascites carcinoma(EAC) cells in Swiss albino ***:The compound VSC at three doses(5, 7.5 and 10 mg/kg i.p.) was administered into the intraperitoneal cavity of the EAC inoculated mice to observe its efficiency by studying the cell growth inhibition, reduction of tumour weight,enhancement of survival time as well as the changes in depleted hematological parameters. Allsuch parameters were also studied with a known standard drug bleomycin at the dose of 0.3 mg/kg(i.p.).results:Among the doses studied, 10 mg/kg(i.p.) was found to be quite comparable in potency to that of bleomycin at the dose of 0.3 mg/kg(i.p.). The host toxic effects of VSC was found to be ***:It can be concluded that VSC can therefore be considered as potent anticancer agent.

About 1.3 billion tons of waste is being generated in the world annually. This waste is a cause of various diseases. Open dumping of waste also destroys valuable agricultural land. Various researchers have beneficially used plastic waste in cement concrete and asphalt concrete in the past. This study aims at the use of aggregates, made from different types of plastic waste, as partial replacement of coarse aggregates in asphalt mixes. For this purpose waste is collected from different hospitals of the city. Sorted plastic from the waste consists of 64% low density polyethene, 32% high density polyethene and 4% of polypropylene. Plastic waste is shredded, heated and after cooling, pulverizes manually and mechanically. Specific gravity of plastic aggregates is 0.96. Water absorption and soundness values are 4.68% and 7.68% respectively. Impact, crushing and Loss Angeles values of plastic aggregates are 0.7%, 0.5%, and 1.1% respectively. replacement of natural aggregates by plastic aggregates in asphalt mixes is done up to 25% with 5% incremental increase. Density of asphalt mixes decreases to 2060 kg/m3. Consequently flow increases to 5.73 mm. maximum stability is at 20% replacement i.e. 34.57 KN. Cost analysis of the study indicates that 205% increase in stability are observed with 219% increase in cost.

Objective:To study the anticancer activities of three schiff bases *** thiosemicarbazone,benzophenone thiosemicarbazone and acetophenone thiosemicarbazone against Ehrlich ascites carcinoma(EAC)cells in Swiss albino ***:Synthesized compounds have administrated into the intraperitoneal cavity of the EAC inoculated mice at two *** anticancer activities have studied by monitoring the parameters such as cell growth inhibition,tumor weight measurement,survival time of EAC bearing mice as well as the changes in depleted hematological parameters due to *** such data have been compared with those of a known standard drug bleomycin at the dose of 0.3 mg/kg(i.p.).results:It has been found that these bases enhanced life span,reduced average tumor weight and inhibited tumor cell growth of EAC cell bearing mice *** results were similar in potency to those obtained with *** was also found that the depleted hematological parameters(red blood count,white blood count and haemoglobin content)were found to be restored gradually towards normal within few weeks after ceasing the ***:The compounds can be primarily considered more or less as potent anticancer agents.
