Biodiesel is one of the alternative forms of diesel fuel and can be obtained using the transesterification process of waste cooking oil with a catalyst to accelerate the *** heterogeneous catalyst from waste scallop shells is used due to its potential for being reused in the subsequent transesterification *** catalysts can also be recycled,contributing to their environmentally friendly *** study aims to identify the performance of recycling a calcium oxide(CaO)catalyst from scallop shell waste on synthesis *** method used is the transesterification method with the basic ingredients of waste cooking oil using a CaO ***,after the transesterification process is complete,the catalyst is separated from the biodiesel and recycled to be reused in the transesterification process up to five *** biodiesel samples obtained are identified for yield value,physico-chemical properties,thermal properties and performance.X-ray diffraction characterization results for the CaO catalyst show that it has a crystal size of 67.83 *** electron microscope characterization shows that it has spherical particle *** transform infrared characterization shows the presence of Ca-O *** highest biodiesel yield value of 74.23%is obtained in biodiesel Cycle *** flash point value of biodiesel samples ranges from 141.2℃ to 149℃.Further,all of the biodiesel samples exhibit a cetane number of *** highest lower heating value of 38.22 mJ/kg is obtained in biodiesel Cycle 1 and the viscosity of the biodiesel samples ranges from 5.65 to 5.88 *** density of the biodiesel samples ranges from 881.23 to 882.92 kg/***,ester functional groups(C=O)and methyl functional groups have been successfully formed in all samples,with the methyl oleate compound observed as dominating the biodiesel *** cloud point value of the biodiesel samples ranges from 12℃ to 13℃,and their pour point value ranges from 10℃ to

AIm:To compare the vergence mechanisms between good and poor sleepers in university ***:A total of 64 university students were recruited in this *** validated malay version of Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index questionnaire(PSQI-m)was used to measure the participants’sleep quality over the past *** were categorized as good sleepers(n=32)and poor sleepers(n=32)based on the PSQI-m *** and fusional vergences were measured at distance and ***-Whitney U test was used to compare heterophoria,negative fusional vergence(NFV),and positive fusional vergence(PFV)at distance and near between good and poor *** correlation analysis was used to study the relationship between PSQI-m score and PFV at ***:Both distance and near heterophorias were not significantly different between good and poor sleepers(P>0.05).There was a difference in distance PFV(Pr sleepers,but not in distance NFV,near NFV,and near PFV(P>0.05).Distance PFV was negatively correlated with PSQI-m score(rs=-0.33,Prsity students with poor sleep quality demonstrates a reduced ability to maintain fusion with increasing convergence demand at *** quality assessment during binocular vision examination in university students is recommended.

The oyster mushroom(Pleurotus spp.)is one of the most widely cultivated mushroom species *** present study investigated the effect of synbiotics on the growth and quality of Pleurotus ostreatus and Pleurotus *** synbiotics formulations were applied by spraying mushroom samples daily and measuring their growth parameters,yield,biological efficiency,proximate composition,mineral content,total phenolic content(TPC),and diphenyl-1-picryl-hydrazyl(DPPH)radical scavenging *** demonstrated that the most significant yield of oyster mushrooms was harvested from synbiotics sprayed with inulin and Lactobacillus casei(56.92 g).Likewise,the highest biological efficiency obtained with a similar synbiotic was 12.65%.Combining inulin and *** was the most effective method of improving the mushrooms'growth performance and nutrient content in both ***,synbiotics that combined inulin and *** resulted in the highest TPC(20.550 mg gallic acid equivalent(GAE)/g dry extract(DE))in white oyster mushrooms(***).In comparison,in grey mushroom(***)the highest TPC was yielded by ***(1.098 mg GAE/g DE)followed by inulin and ***(1.079 mg GAE/g DE).The DPPH results indicated that the oyster mushroom could be an efficient *** results revealed that applying synbiotics improved the mushrooms'quality by increasing their antioxidant capacity with higher amounts of phenolic compounds and offering better health benefits with the increased levels of mineral ***,these studies demonstrated the potential of using synbiotics as a biofertilizer,which is helpful for mushroom cultivation;therefore,it might solve the challenge of inconsistent quality mushroom growers face.

The hazardous environmental effects of greenhouse gas emissions and climate change demand alternative sources for cementitious materials in the construction *** development of geopolymer structures provides a way of producing 100%cement-free *** this research work,a novel and simple way of deriving nano particles from waste fly ash particles is *** effect of adding the synthesized nano fly ash particles as a filler medium in geopolymer mortars was investigated by considering strength and durability *** optimization was done by using regression analysis on the geopolymer mortar and the impact of adding nano fly ash particles was studied by varying different percentages of addition ranging from 0 to 7.5%by weight of binder *** the results,it was observed that 1%nano fly ash acted not only as a filler but also as nano-sized precursors of the polymerization process,resulting in denser geopolymer *** can explain the extraordinary gain in strength of 72.11 mPa as well as the denser core with negligible level of chloride ion penetration,making the material suitable for the development of structures susceptible to marine environment.

Enhancing awareness of personal cleanliness and antibacterial resistance has intensified the antibacterial substance request on consumable products. Antibacterial agents that have been commercialized nowadays are produced from inorganic and non-renewable substances. This provides several drawbacks, particularly against health and environmental issues. Therefore, many scientists work on substituting fossil-fuel-based antibacterial agents with natural ones such as from biomass. Biomass derivatives, natural abundances of biopolymers in the world, amount to major compounds including polysaccharides (cellulose, hemicellulose, and chitosan) and polyphenol (tannin and lignin) substances which are capable to combat the growth of Gram-positive bacteria and Gram-negative bacteria. To date, no report focuses on a deep understanding of antibacterial properties derived from biomass and the internal and external factors effects. This work provides that gap because comprehensive knowledge is necessary before applying biomass to the products. The potency of biomass derivatives as antibacterial additives is also summarized. Basic knowledge of antibacterial characteristics to the application in products is highlighted in this review. Besides, the discussion about challenges and future perspectives is also delivered.

Identification of thermal front dynamics in the northern malacca Strait using rOmS 3D-model

The thermal front in the oceanic system is believed to have a significant effect on biological *** an era of climate change,changes in heat regulation between the atmosphere and oceanic interior can alter the characteristics of this important *** the simulation results of the 3D regional Ocean modelling System(rOmS),we identified the location of thermal fronts and determined their dynamic variability in the area between the southern Andaman Sea and northern malacca *** Single Image Edge Detection(SIED)algorithm was used to detect the thermal front from model-derived *** show that a thermal front occurred every year from 2002 to 2012 with the temperature gradient at the location of the front was 0.3°C/*** to the years affected by El Ni?o and negative Indian Ocean Dipole(IOD),the normal years(e.g.,may 2003)show the presence of the thermal front at every selected depth(10,25,50,and 75 m),whereas El Ni?o and negative IOD during 2010 show the presence of the thermal front only at depth of 75 m due to greater warming,leading to the thermocline deepening and enhanced *** may 2003,the thermal front was separated by cooler SST in the southern Andaman Sea and warmer SST in the northern malacca *** higher SST in the northern malacca Strait was believed due to the besieged malacca Strait,which trapped the heat and make it difficult to release while higher chlorophyll a in malacca Strait is due to the freshwater conduit from nearby rivers(Klang,Langat,Perak,and Selangor).Furthermore,compared to the southern Andaman Sea,the chlorophyll a in the northern malacca Strait is easier to reach the surface area due to the shallower thermocline,which allows nutrients in the area to reach the surface faster.
