Canola plants were fumigated in open-top chambers with ozone（O3）（120 ppb）under well-watered（WW）and water-stressed（WS）conditions for 4 ***-fumigated plants were also studied to facilitate comparison between treatments for the same week and over ***,the treatments were：WW,WW-O3,WS and *** fast chlorophyll a fluorescence transients OJIP for the four treatments emitted upon illumination of dark-adapted leaves were measured after week 1,2,3,4 and analysed by the JIP-test to evaluate the resulting changes in photosynthetic *** fumigation led to a decline of total performance index（PI（total））in well-watered *** effect of O3 was minor under drought conditions,as revealed by a decrease of PI（total） by 3%.The PI（total） decreased as the treatment was prolonged,due to leaf ageing for all cases and the decline was more pronounced under *** the average of all weeks,WW had the highest PI（total)and the lowest WW-O3（decrease by 27%）,while in WS and WS-O3,it was lower than WW（14 and 17%,respectively）.We found that the absorption（ABS）/reaction centre（RC）increases,while the maximum quantum yield of primary photochemistry（φ（Po））undergoes slight changes,and trapping（TR0）/RC closely followed the increase in ABS/*** indicates that O3and drought caused an increase in the functional antenna *** maximum quantum yield of primary photochemistry showed slight differences for all treatments and over time,suggesting that this parameter is less sensitive to drought and O3 ***,the more sensitive components of the photosynthetic electron transport chain appeared to be the probability that an electron from the intersystem electron carriers is transferred to reduce end electron acceptors at the PSI acceptor side（δ（Ro））and the RC density on a chlorophyll basis（RC/ABS）.

ERCP for the treatment of bile leak after partial hepatectomy and fenestration for symptomatic polycystic liver disease

AIm: To describe endoscopic treatment of bile leaks in these patients and to identify risk factors in these patients which can predict the development of bile leaks. mETHODS: Retrospective case-control study examining consecutive patients who underwent partial hepatectomy for polycystic liver disease (PLD) and developed a postoperative bile leak managed endoscopically over a ten year period. Each case was matched with two controls with PLD who did not develop a postoperative bile leak. RESULTS: Ten cases underwent partial hepatectomy with fenestration for symptoms including abdominal distention, pain and nausea. Endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) showed anatomic abnormalities in 1 case. A biliary sphincterotomy was performed in 4 cases. A plastic biliary stent was placed with the proximal end at the site of the leak in 9 cases; in 1 case two stents were placed. The overall success rate of ERCP to manage the leak was 90%. There were no significant differences in age, gender, comorbidities, duration of symptoms, history of previous surgery or type of surgery performed between cases and controls. CONCLUSION: ERCP with stent placement is safe and effective for management of post-hepatectomy bile leak in patients with PLD.

Effects of nano-ceramic filler titanium oxide（TiO2） have been investigated on the ionic conductance of polymeric complexes consisting of polyvinyl chloride）（PVC）/poly（ethyl methacrylate）（PEmA）,and lithium perchlorate（LiClO4）.The composite polymer blend electrolytes were prepared by solvent casting *** TiO2 nanofillers were homogeneously dispersed in the polymer electrolyte matrix and exhibited excellent interconnection with PVC/PEmA/PC/UCIO4 polymer *** addition of TiO2nanofillers improved the ionic conductivity of the polymer electrolyte to some extent when the content of TiO2 is 15 wt%.The addition of TiO2 also enhanced the thermal stability of the *** changes in the structural and complex formation properties of the materials are studied by X-ray diffraction（XRD） and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy（FTIR） *** scanning electron microscope image of nano-composite polymer electrolyte membrane confirms that the TiO2 nanoparticles were distributed uniformly in the polymer matrix.

Neurobrucellosis is a rare form of localized brucellosis usually with no systemic manifestations. We report a rare case of brucellosis presenting as meningoencephalitis associated with *** patient had a lymphocytic predominant CSF and was initially treated with empirical anti tubercular therapy and steroids.A week later,when his CSF culture grew Brucella species,the treatment was changed to a combination of streptomycin,doxycycline and rifampicin and the patient improved with this *** case illustrates the need to consider neurobrucellosis as a close differential diagnosis of neurotuberculosis in endemic areas when the patient presents with meningo encephalitis with lymphocytic CSF.

Background:Neuroplasticity is a phenomenon exhibited by our nervous system as an indicator of overall development and in response to training,injury/loss of particular function,treatment/drugs and as a result of stimulation from the surrounding ***:The aim of the current study was to assess the auditory working memory capacities in Bharatanatyam ***:The participants comprised fifty-four females with normal hearing sensitivity who belonged to two ***-I consisted of 27 individuals who underwent formal training in Bharatanatyam for a minimum period of three ***-II consisted of the age-matched control group,consisting of 27individuals who were *** auditory working memory tasks included arranging the English digits presented binaurally in forward,backward,ascending,and descending *** maximum values(for the length of sequence arranged),midpoint values(average score),and response time for each task were noted down and compared among ***:The scores were compared using the mann-Whitney U test,which revealed enhanced working memory exhibited by dancers for maximum values and midpoint scores for all three tasks except ascending *** was also noted that the dancers exhibited a shorter response time compared to nondancers for all the tasks except ascending ***:The current study highlights an enhanced auditory working memory capacity in Bharatanatyam dancers,which could be perceived as evidence of neuroplastic changes induced in the auditory and motor cortex as a consequence of extensive stimulation for auditory processing abilities and motor planning resulting from long-term dance training and regular practice.

Joining of hybrid AA6063-6SiCp-3Grp composite and AISI1030 steel by friction welding

Joining of metals and aluminium hybrid metal matrix composites has significant applications in aviation,ship building and automotive industries. In the present work, investigation is carried out on Friction Welding of AISI 1030 steel and hybrid AA6063-6 SiC_p-3 Gr_pcomposite, that are difficult to weld by fusion welding technique. Silicon carbide and graphite particle reinforced AA6063 matrix hybrid composite was developed successfully using stir casting method and the joining feasibility of AISI1030 steel with AA6063-6 SiC_p-3 Gr_p hybrid composite was tried out by friction stud welding technique. During friction stage of welding process, the particulates(SiC & Graphite) used for reinforcement, tend to increase the viscosity and lead to improper mixing of matrix and reinforcement. This eventually results in lower strength in dissimilar joints. To overcome this difficulty AA1100 interlayer is used while joining hybrid composite to AISI 1030 steel. Experimentation was carried out using Taguchi based design of experiments(DOE) technique. multiple regression methods were applied to understand the relationship between process parameters of the friction stud welding process. micro structural examination reveals three separate zones namely fully plasticized zone, partially deformed zone and unaffected base material zone. Ultra fine dynamically recrystallized grains of about 341 nm were observed at the fully plasticized zone. EDX analysis confirms the presence of intermetallic compound Fe_2 Al_5 at the joint interface. According to the experimental analysis using DOE, rotational speed and interlayer sheet thickness contribute about 39% and 36% respectively in determining the impact strength of the welded joints. It is found that joining with 0.5 mm interlayer sheet provides efficient joints. Developed regression model could be used to predict the axial shortening distance and impact strength of the welded joint with reasonable accuracy.
