The Alto moxotóTerrane of the Borborema Province presents a wide exposure of Paleoproterozoic crust,but unlike other continental blocks of South America,its orogenic history is strongly obliterated by late Neoproterozoic *** isotopic and geochemical studies were conducted in mafic-ultramafic(Fazenda Carmo Suite)and granitic-gneissic rocks(Riacho do Navio Suite)within the *** former present zircon U-Pb crystallization ages at ca.2.13 Ga,whereas Sm-Nd data suggests a juvenile origin via melting of early Paleoproterozoic to Archean peridotitic *** data for these rocks are compatible with tholeiitic magmas with some degree of crustal contamination and trace element distribution points to a continental-arc related setting interpreted as remnants of the early stages of *** contrast,the Riacho do Navio Suite was emplaced at ca.2.08 Ga and has highly negativeεNd(t)values indicating crustal *** suite displays calc-alkali to alkali-calcic and ferroan geochemical signatures compatible with Cordilleran *** addition,trace-element distribution as well as discriminant diagrams suggest that the precursor magmas were generated during the later stages of a continental arc or in a syn-collisional *** on our results,we suggest that the studied units might represent missing pieces of a Paleoproterozoic accretionary orogen that formed the crustal framework of the Alto moxotóTerrane,and that this represents a block associated with assembly of the Nuna/Columbia supercontinent,which is now largely hidden within the Neoproterozoic orogenic belts of West Gondwana.

Halide perovskite solar cells(PSCs)have already demonstrated power conversion efficiencies above 25%,which makes them one of the most attractive photovoltaic ***,one of the main bottlenecks towards their commercialization is their long-term stability,which should exceed the 20-year *** engineering is an effective pathway for the enhancement of device *** applied as organic or inorganic compounds,improve crystal grain growth enhancing power conversion *** interaction of their functional groups with the halide perovskite(HP)absorber,as well as with the transport layers,results in defect passivation and ion immobilization improving device performance and *** this review,we briefly summarize the different types of additives recently applied in PSC to enhance not only efficiency but also long-term *** discuss the different mechanism behind additive engineering and the role of the functional groups of these additives for defect *** emphasis is given to their effect on the stability of PSCs under environmental conditions such as humidity,atmosphere,light irradiation(UV,visible)or heat,taking into account the recently reported ISOS *** also discuss the relation between deep-defect passivation,non-radiative recombination and device efficiency,as well as the possible relation between shallow-defect passivation,ion immobilization and device operational ***,insights into the challenge and criteria for additive selection are provided for the further stability enhancement of PSCs.

We propose a new way to develop non-parametric m.dels of power curves using artificial intelligence *** parametric m.del and eight non-parametric m.dels are developed to emulate the behavior described by the power curve of the wind farms.A comparison between the power curve m.dels based on artificial neural networks(ANNs)and those based on fuzzy logic are also *** of the power curve m.dels based on ANNs and fuzzy inference systems(FISs)are used as well as two new FISs with the proposed new *** initial pre-training is proposed,resulting from the characteristics derived from the expert inference followed by a transformation of a fuzzy mamdani system into a fuzzy Sugeno *** the presented values by the error indicators are comparable,the results show that the new pre-trained FIS m.dels have better precision compared with the ANN and FIS *** comparative study is conducted in two wind farms located in northeastern *** proposed method is a relevant alternative to improve power curve approximation based on an FIS.

Brewer’s spent grain (BSG) is a large-scale agroindustrial waste that could be more efficiently utilized. This waste is composed of lignocellulosic material and so may serve as a good source of biomass for thermochemical conversion. The present study investigated the fluid dynamics behavior of mixtures of sand and BSG in a spouted bed to assess the viability of the thermochemical conversion of this biomass via fast pyrolysis. Fluid dynamics analyses were performed while varying the mass fraction of BSG (6–80%) and the static bed height (6.6–13.4 cm). Empirical equations for predicting the minimum spouting conditions and the mixing index were obtained using a regression technique, and the selected fluid dynamics parameters were employed in the spouted bed pyrolysis. The bio-oil resulting from this process was rich in phenolic compounds, various nitrogenated compounds (representing precursors for pharmaceuticals) and long-chain hydrocarbons. The products obtained from the analytical and spouted bed pyrolysis processes were also compared.

Whole-genome duplications(WGDs)are regarded as important drivers of macroevolution in plants(Clark and Donoghue,2018).However,there are few studies that test a connection between WGDs and evolutionary *** proper study of evolutionary patterns related to WGDs needs a well-resolved phylogeny,accurate dates of the WGD events,and historical reconstructions of the evolutionary novelties(Clark and Donoghue,2018).The advent of exhaustive phylogenomic studies is becoming a promising way to solve these issues,as wholegenome data can help clarify obscure phylogenetic relationships,evaluate patterns associated with WGDs,and track down the evolution of life-history traits that shaped plant lineages(Bellot et al.,2020).

Electroconductive hydrogels has been extensively studied in drug delivery systems because they combine the properties of hydogels with the conducting polymers in only one material. In this work, pyrrole was polymerized electrochemically into poly(acrylic acid) hydrogel. This material kept the swelling properties that are characteristic of hydrogels and the electroactivity of the conducting polymers. The hydrogel (with and without the conducting polymer) swelling degree depends on both the ionic strength and pH. As this material is responsive to changes in the electrical potential, pH and ionic strength, the safranin release presented different delivery profiles, in accordance to variations and combinations of these stimuli. The most interesting result was the achievement of the linear safranin release indicating a zero-order kinetics.

Fluorescence of Chlorophyll a for Discovering Inhibitors of Photosynthesis in Plant Extracts

Aims: Twelve crude extracts were prepared from different parts of Pluchea sagittalis, Cecropia palmata and Brachiaria brizantha, and their effect on the light reaction of photosynthesis. Study design: Use of fluorescence of ChL a (Chlorophyll a) to detect inhibitors of photosynthesis in plant extracts. Place and Duration of Study: Instituto de Ciências Ambientais, Químicas e Farmacêuticas, departamento de Ciências Exatas e da Terra, Universidade Federal de Sao Paulo (UNIFESP), between July 2015 and January 2016. methodology: The samples had their effect on the light reaction of photosynthesis studied by Chlorophyll a (Chl a) fluorescence transient by the use of chloroplasts isolated from spinach leaves. As negative controls we used the same amounts of DmSO that have been employed to solubilize the samples, and as positive control we have used 10 μm of the commercial herbicide DCmU (Diuron). Results: The extracts inhibited the photosynthesis, and their inhibition sites were located in the range of electron flow from OEC complex and between P680 to QA of PS II, and inhibited the photosystem II (PS II) by inducing the appearance of the transient bands K and J. Conclusion: Our results suggest an indicative that the photochemical apparatus probably is failing at the donor and acceptor sides of PSII, causing damage to electron transport during the photosynthesis phenomenon.
