Electroencephalogram(EEG)is a method of capturing the electrophy-siological signal of the *** EEG headset is a wearable device that records electrophysiological data from the *** paper presents the design and fab-rication of a customized low-cost Electroencephalogram(EEG)headset based on the open-source OpenBCI Ultracortex mark IV *** electrode placement locations are modiﬁed under a 10–20 standard *** fabricated headset is then compared to commercially available headsets based on the following para-meters:affordability,accessibility,noise,signal quality,and ***,the data is recorded from 20 subjects who used the EEG Headset,and signals were ***,the participants marked the accuracy,set up time,participant comfort,and participant perceived ease of set-up on a scale of 1 to 7(7 being excellent).Thirdly,the self-designed EEG headband is used by 5 participants for slide *** raw EEG signal is decomposed into a series of band sig-nals using discrete wavelet transform(DWT).Lastly,theseﬁndings have been compared to previously reported *** concluded that when used for slide-changing control,our self-designed EEG headband had an accuracy of 82.0 *** also concluded from the results that our headset performed well on the cost-effectiveness scale,had a reduced setup time of 2±0.5 min(the short-est among all being compared),and demonstrated greater ease of use.

Seed priming has proved to be an effective pre-germination seed invigoration technique for different crops to improve seed and seedling performance under different abiotic *** Bangladesh,winter rice is very often exposed to cold waves just after sowing in the nursery bed resulting in poor seed germination and seedling emergence,yellowish and thin seedlings production,and a very low survival *** priming may mitigate the cold stress during seed germination and seedling emergence and helps in the quality seedling production of winter *** evaluate the efficacy of different seed priming techniques in increasing seedling emergence,growth,vigor and survivability of winter rice cultivars under cold stress,a pot experiment was conducted at the Department of Agronomy,Bangladesh Agricultural University during December 2018 to January *** experiment comprised two factors,(A)Winter rice variety namely,(i)BRRI dhan29 and (ii)BRRI dhan36;(B)Seed priming agent namely (i)Control(no priming),(ii)20000 ppm NaCl,(iii)30000 ppm NaCl,(iv)20000 ppm KCl,(v)30000 ppm KCl,(vi)20000 ppm CaCl2,(vii)30000 ppm CaCl2,(viii)50 ppm CuSO4,(ix)75 ppm CuSO_(4),(x)10000 ppm ZnSO4,(xi)15000 ppm ZnSO4,(xii)2 ppm Na2moO4,(xiii)3 ppm Na2moO4,(xiv)100 ppm PEG(Polyethylene glycol 4000)and (xv)150 ppm *** were sown on two different dates viz.,1st December and 1st January so that seedlings are exposed to cold stress at different *** experiment was laid out in a completely randomized design(CRD)with three *** indicated that(in most of the cases)seed priming has a positive impact on seedling emergence rate(%),root length,shoot length,root shoot ratio,root dry weight,shoot dry weight,seedling dry weight and survival rate(%).Among the priming agents,KCl and CaCl2 performed best;while priming with NaCl and PEG showed no advantages over no priming for both the sowing *** general,BRRI dhan36 performed better than BRRI dhan29 in terms of seedling growth because

Background Natural and synthetic plant growth regulators are essential for plant health,likewise these regulators also play a role in increasing organic production productivity and improving quality and yield *** the present study,we have evaluated the effects of foliar applied plant growth regulators,i.e.,moringa leaf extract(mLE)and mepiquat chloride(mC)alone and in combination mC and mLE on the conventional cotton cultivar(CIm 573)and transgenic one(CIm 598).The growth regulators were applied at the start of bloom,45 and 90 days after *** The application of mC and mLE at 90 days after blooming significantly improved the relative growth rate,net assimilation rate,the number of bolls per plant,and seed cotton ***,the combined application of mLE and mC at 90 days after blooming significantly boosted the nitrogen uptake in locules,as well as the phosphorus and potassium uptake in the leaves of both cotton *** application of mLE alone has considerably improved the nitrogen uptake in leaves,and phosphorus and potassium contents in locules of Bt and conventional cotton ***,Bt cotton treated with mLE at 90 days after blooming produced significantly higher ginning out turn and oil *** in combination(mLE+mC)at 90 days after blooming produced considerably higher micronaire value,fiber strength,and staple length in conventional *** The natural growth enhancer,mLE is a rich source of minerals and zeatin,improving the nutrient absorption and quality of cotton fiber in both conventional and Bt cotton cultivars.

The rapid urbanization and industrialization involve an unsustainable use of natural systems,leading to various problems in *** urban hydrological system experiences fluctuating amount of surface runoff water when it rains *** has been suggested that green roofs significantly mitigate storm water runoff generation even in tropical *** roofs have become popular due to its proven benefits by mitigating urban heat island effects and protecting *** annual rainfall and runoff relationship for green roofs is determined by the depth of the *** retention capacity mostly depends on substrate's physical conditions such as dry or *** 6 mm to 12 mm rainfall is required for dry substrate to initiate runoff whereas response of wet conditions is mostly ***,there are some other factors affecting runoff dynamics such as type of a green roof and its slope,age of green roof,type of vegetation,soil moisture characteristics,*** review indicates that there is not much research in green roofs performance over storm water runoff;hence there is a need for further *** paper reviews and addresses the role of green roofs in urban storm water management.

Perovskite solar cells(PSCs)have made great advances in terms of power conversion efficiency(PCE),yet their subpar stability continues to hinder their *** interface between the perovskite layer and the charge-carrier transporting layers plays a crucial role in undermining the stability of *** this work,we propose a strategy to stabilize high-performance PSCs with PCE over 23%by introducing a cesium-doped graphene oxide(GO-Cs)as an interlayer between the perovskite and hole-transporting *** GO-Cs treated PSCs exhibit excellent operational stability with a projected T80(the time where the device PCE reduces to 80%of its initial value)of 2143 h of operation at the maximum powering point under one sun illumination.

Uncontrolled microglial activation is decisively involved in the neuroinflammatory pathogenesis of brain diseases. Consequently, suppression of microglial overactivation appears to be a strategy for the prevention of nerve injury. In this paper, a novel vanadium complex, vanadyl N-(p-N,Ndimethylaminophenylcarbamoylmethyl)iminodiacetate(VO(p-dmada)), was synthesized from vanadyl sulfate and N,N-dimethyl-p-phenylenediamine, which was structurally characterized by Fourier transform infrared spectrum and ESI-mS analysis. The effect of VO(p-dmada) on neuroinflammation was investigated by using the models of lipopolysaccharide(LPS)-induced BV2 microglial cells and BALB/c *** data demonstrated that VO(p-dmada) significantly suppressed microglial activation by downregulating inflammatory mediators and associated proteins, and inactivating nuclear factor-κ B(NF-κ B) signaling pathway. VO(p-dmada) also upregulated peroxisome proliferator activated receptor gamma(PPARγ) by reducing transglutaminase 2 and heat shock protein 60 expression. Co-treatment with PPARγ antagonist GW9662 significantly impeded the inhibitory effect of VO(p-dmada) on LPS-induced *** cumulative findings demonstrated that VO(p-dmada) is a potential new drug for the treatment of neuroinflammation-related neurodegenerative diseases.

To investigate the hydrogeochemical characteristics of groundwater 23 shallow, 30 intermediate and 38 deep wells samples were collected from Sylhet district of Bangladesh, and analyzed for temperature, pH, Eh, EC,DO, DOC, Na^+, K^+, Ca^(2+), mg^(2+), Cl^-, SO_4^(2-), NO_3^-,HCO_3^-, SiO_2^-, Fe, mn and As. Besides, 12 surface water samples from Surma and Kushiyara Rivers were also collected and analyzed to understand the influence into aquifers. Results revealed that, most of the groundwater samples are acidic in nature, and Na–HCO_3 is the dominant groundwater type. The mean value of temperature, EC,Na^+, K^+, Ca^(2+), mg^(2+), Cl^-, NO_3^- and SO_4^(2-) were found within the range of permissible limits, while most of the samples exceeds the allowable limits of Fe, mn and As concentrations. However, relatively higher concentration of Fe and mn were found in deep water samples and reverse trend was found in case of As. The mean concentrations of As in shallow, intermediate and deep wells were 39.3, 25.3and 21.4 lg/L respectively, which varied from 0.03 to148 lg/L. From spatial distribution, it was found that Fe,mn and As concentrations are high but patchy in northern,north-western, and south-western part of Sylhet region. The most influential geochemical process in study area were identified as silicate weathering, characterized by active cation exchange process and carbonate weathering, which thereby can enhance the elemental concentrations in groundwater. Pearson's correlation matrix, principal component analysis and cluster analysis were also employed to evaluate the controlling factors, and it was found that, both natural and anthropogenic sources were influencing the groundwater chemistry of the aquifers. However, surface water has no significant role to contaminate the aquifers,rather geogenic factors affecting the trace elemental contamination. Responses of Annual Variability of Vegetation NPP to Climate Variables Using Satellite Techniques in Gadarif State, Sudan

Plants play an essential role in matter and energy transformations and are key messengers in the carbon and energy cycle. Net primary productivity (NPP) reflects the capability of plants to transform solar energy into photosynthesis. It is very sensible for factors affecting on vegetation variability such as climate, soils, plant characteristics and human activities. So, it can be used as an indicator of actual and potential trend of vegetation. In this study we used the actual NPP which was derived from mODIS to assess the response of NPP to climate variables in Gadarif State, from 2000 to 2010. The correlations between NPP and climate variables (temperature and precipitation) are calculated using Pearson’s Correlation Coefficient and ordinary least squares regression. The main results show the following 1) the correlation Coefficient between NPP and mean annual temperature is Somewhat negative for Feshaga, Rahd, Gadarif and Galabat areas and weakly negative in Faw area;2) the correlation Coefficient between NPP and annual total precipitation is weakly negative in Faw, Rahd and Galabat areas and somewhat negative in Galabat and Rahd areas. This study demonstrated that the correlation analysis between NPP and climate variables (precipitation and temperature) gives reliably result of NPP responses to climate variables that is clearly in a very large scale of study area.
