Temporal changes in the relationship between tree growth and climate have been observed in numerous forests across the *** patterns and the possible regu-lators(e.g.,forest community structure)of such changes are,however,not well understood.A vegetation survey and analyses of growth-climate relationships for Abies georgei ***(Smith fir)forests were carried along an altitudi-nal gradient from 3600 to 4200 m on meili Snow mountain,southeastern Tibetan *** results showed that the associations between growth and temperature have declined since the 1970s over the whole transect,while response to standardized precipitation-evapotranspiration indices(SPEI)strengthened in the mid-and *** between growth and vegetation data showed that tree growth was more sensitive to drought in stands with higher species richness and greater shrub *** stress on growth may be increased by heavy competition from shrub and herb *** results show the non-stationary nature of tree growth-climate associations and the linkage to for-est community *** components should be considered in future modeling and forecasting of forest dynamics in relation to climate changes.

mini-channel heatsinks are one of the most effective thermal management methods for high heatﬂux devices due to the high performance of convective heat *** recent years,various techniques have been innovated to improve the thermal proﬁciency of the mini-channel *** of these are taking advantage ofﬁns’structural designs and ar-rangements of inlets and *** zigzagﬁns and channels were considered in the previous works in heatsinks,and researchers analyzed their cooling enhancement ***,in the present work,a combined cooling technique,considering new-type zigzagﬁns’geometrical parameters(arrangement,length,and height)causes turbulenceﬂow and higher convective heat transfer along with different positionings ofﬂow inlet and outlets resulting in superior temper-ature uniformity,is proposed to evaluate their impacts on the cooling proﬁciency of the heat sink versus different Reynolds *** assess the thermal and hydraulic performance of the proposed heatsink,different parameters,including temperature contours,Nusselt numbers,thermal resistance,and entropy generation are *** a result,it is observed that in the case demonstrating the best thermal performance,the Nusselt number,pressure drop,thermal resistance,and entropy generation are respectively 37.13,4586.46 Pa,0.000078 m^(2)·K/W,and 0.1078 W/K in the best *** well,it is found that by changing the arrangements of inlets and outlets,the Nusselt number,and thermal resistance are improved by 12%and 13%,***,the proposed mini-channel heat sink could be used as a high-performance thermal management system for electronic devices in different industries,including energy,solar,and medical sectors.

Retrograde adeno-associated viruses(AAVs)are capable of infecting the axons of projection neurons and serve as a powerful tool for the anatomical and functional characterization of neural ***,few retro-grade AAV capsids have been shown to offer access to cor-tical projection neurons across different species and enable the manipulation of neural function in non-human primates(NHPs).Here,we report the development of a novel retro-grade AAV capsid,AAV-DJ8R,which efficiently labeled cortical projection neurons after local administration into the striatum of mice and *** addition,intrastriatally injected AAV-DJ8R mediated opsin expression in the mouse motor cortex and induced robust behavioral ***,AAV-DJ8R markedly increased motor cortical neuron firing upon optogenetic light stimulation after viral delivery into the macaque *** data demonstrate the usefulness of AAV-DJ8R as an efficient retrograde tracer for cortical projection neurons in rodents and NHPs and indicate its suitability for use in conducting functional interrogations.

Prime editing(PE)technology enables precise alterations in the genetic code of a genome of *** offers great potential for identifying major agronomically important genes in plants and editing them into superior variants,ideally targeting multiple loci simultaneously to realize the collective effects of the ***,we report the development of a modular assembly-based multiplex PE system in rice and demon-strate its efficacy in editing up to four genes in a single transformation *** duplex PE(DPE)system achieved a co-editing efficiency of 46.1%in the T0 generation,converting TFIIAg5 to xa5 and xa23 to *** resulting double-mutant lines exhibited robust broad-spectrum resistance against multiple Xanthomonas oryzae pathovar oryzae(Xoo)strains in the T1 *** addition,we success-fully edited OsEPSPS1 to an herbicide-tolerant variant and OsSWEET11a to a Xoo-resistant allele,achieving a co-editing rate of 57.14%.Furthermore,with the quadruple PE(QPE)system,we edited four genes—two for herbicide tolerance(OsEPSPS1 and OsALS1)and two for Xoo resistance(TFIIAg5 and OsSWEET11a)—using one construct,with a co-editing efficiency of 43.5%for all four genes in the T0 *** performed multiplex PE usingfive more constructs,including two for triplex PE(TPE)and three for QPE,each targeting a different set of *** editing rates were dependent on the activity of pegRNA and/or *** instance,optimization of ngRNA increased the PE rates for one of the targets(OsSPL13)from 0%to 30%but did not improve editing at another target(OsGS2).Overall,our modular assembly-based system yielded high PE rates and streamlined the cloning of PE reagents,making it feasible for more labs to utilize PE for their editing *** have significant implications for advancing gene editing techniques in plants and may pave the way for future agricultural applications.

This study examines the microstructure,mechanical properties(with a focus on room-temperature toughness),and oxidation resistance of Ho-doped NbDSi based in-situ *** base alloy consists of the coarse primary Nb_(5)Si_(3)phase and the Nb_(5)Si_(3)+Nbss(Nb solid solution)eutectic *** doping influences the solidification *** the Ho doping is higher than0.2 at%,the alloys transform into eutectic *** can be solid-solved in trace amounts in the Nbss ***,most of Ho forms a stable Ho oxide phase,which alleviates oxygen contamination problem to some ***,the interface separation between Ho oxide and other phases reduces the plastic deformation ***,with 0.4 at%Ho doping,the K_(Q)value is18.03 mPa·m^(1/2),which is 31.1%higher than that of the base *** strength of the Ho-doped alloys does not deteriorate with an increase in ***,the large network-like Ho_(2)O_(3)in the 0.8Ho alloy causes a decrease in toughness and *** addition,the Ho oxide phase effectively blocks the inward oxygen *** 0.8 at%Ho doping,the oxidation mass gain per unit area is 10.16 mg·cm^(2),which is 39.7%lower than that of the base alloy.

The growth in biomedical data resources has raised potential privacy concerns and risks of genetic information leakage. For instance, exome sequencing aids clinical decisions by comparing data through web services, but it requires significant trust between users and providers. To alleviate privacy concerns, the most commonly used strategy is to anonymize sensitive data. Unfortunately, studies have shown that anonymization is insufficient to protect against reidentification attacks. Recently, privacy-preserving technologies have been applied to preserve application utility while protecting the privacy of biomedical data. We present the PICOTEES framework, a privacy-preserving online service of phenotype exploration for genetic-diagnostic variants (https://***:3000/). PICOTEES enables privacy-preserving queries of the phenotype spectrum for a single variant by utilizing trusted execution environment technology, which can protect the privacy of the user's query information, backend models, and data, as well as the final results. We demonstrate the utility and performance of PICOTEES by exploring a bioinformatics dataset. The dataset is from a cohort containing 20,909 genetic testing patients with 3,152,508 variants from the Children's Hospital of Fudan University in China, dominated by the Chinese Han population (>99.9%). Our query results yield a large number of unreported diagnostic variants and previously reported pathogenicity.

Lithium-ion batteries(LIBs)undergo various degradation phenomena such as material decomposition,structural change and uneven lithium ion distribution during long-term cycles,which would affect their performance and *** order to improve the performance of the LIBs during their life cycle,preload force is preset when the batteries are *** preload forces will in turn affect the cycle life and heat generation of the *** order to address this issue,this work carries out charge/discharge cycle tests on a NCm811 battery under different preload *** calorimetry tests are performed to investigate the battery heat generation under different states of health(SOHs)and preload *** on the test results,an empirical prediction model for heat generation power as a function of SOH is *** show that when the preload force is 5 N·m,the battery capacity decreases in the slowest rate and the average heat generation power is the *** in peaks of the incremental capacity curve can be used to characterize the loss of lithium at the electrode,which in turn characterizes the change of heat generation power of the *** average heat generation power is mainly affected by the SOH,going through a period of trough with the decrease of the SOH and continuing to increase after crossing the critical *** general,these findings emphasize the relationship between preload force,SOH and heat generation power,which is helpful for the judgment of optimal preload to improve the efficiency of LIBs.
