Epidemiological and Clinical Aspects of Chronic Renal Failure in the medical Department at the Hospital of Sikasso

Introduction: Chronic renal failure is a real public health problem because of its prevalence, the cost of its management and the high morbidity and mortality rate associated with it. The objective of this study was to determine the frequency, causes and main aggravating factors of chronic renal failure in the medical department of the hospital of Sikasso. materials and methods: This was a cross-sectional, retrospective, descriptive study conducted in the medical department of the Sikasso hospital from January 1, 2021 to November 30, 2022. It covered all the records of patients with chronic renal failure hospitalized in the department during this period. The mDRD formula was used to estimate the glomerular filtration rate. The KDIGO 2012 classification was used to stage CKD. Results: Of 820 patient records reviewed, we retained 197 records. The mean age of our patients was 42.25 ± 10 years. The male sex represented 114 (57.9%). The socio-economic level was considered low and precarious in 79.8% of cases. The frequency of chronic renal failure was 24%. The reason for hospitalization was mostly hyper creatinine > 185 μmol/l (92.4%). Herbal medicine was reported in 103 cases (52.3%). medical history was hypertension 101 cases (51.3%), undocumented gastro duodenal ulcer (UGD) 14 cases (7.6%), hypertension and diabetes 11 cases (5.1%), diabetes 8 cases (4%), lower limb edema 9 cases (4.6%). Hypocalcemia was 147 cases (75.6%) with hyper phosphoremia was 153 cases (77.7%). Hemoglobin level was: m 8 - 10 g/dl, 54 cases (27.4%). The etiologies of CKD were vascular nephropathy 106 cases (53.8%), interstitial nephropathy, 44 cases (22.3%), glomerular nephropathy, 33 cases (16.8%), diabetic nephropathy, 12 cases (6.1%) and polycystic kidney disease 2 (1%). CKD was classified as stage 5, 171 cases (86.8%), stage 4, 11 cases (5.6%), stage 3, 13 cases (6.6%) and stage 2, 2 cases (1%.) Dialysis was performed in 1095

baCKGROUND Sulongga-4(SL-4)is a herbal formula used in traditional mongolian medical clinics for the treatment of peptic ulcers and gastroenteritis,even though its pharmacological mechanism has not been well *** To evaluate the protective effect and identify the mechanisms of action of SL-4 on gastroduodenal ulcer induced by pyloric ligation(PL)in *** PL was performed to induce gastric and duodenal ulcers in rats,which were then treated with oral SL-4(1.3,2.6,or 3.9 g/kg per day)for 15 ***-induced gastroduodenal *** effects were characterized by pathological and histological evaluations and inflammatory indicators were analyzed by enzyme-linked immunosorbent *** analyses were conducted to identify gene expression profiles of gastroduodenal tissue in PL rats with or without SL-4 *** candidate target genes were selected and verified by quantitative reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction(qRT-PCR).RESULTS SL-4 decreased histopathological features in the PL-induced ulcerated ***-4 significantly (P mor necrosis factor-α,interleukin (IL)-1β, IL-6, endotoxin, platelet-activating factor, and increasedprostaglandin E2 and epidermal growth factor in ulcer tissue. microarray analysiswas used to identify a panel of candidate target genes for SL-4 acting on PLinducedulceration. Genes included some complement and coagulation cascadeand retinol metabolism pathways that are closely associated with inflammatoryresponses and gastric mucosal protective mechanisms. qRT-PCR showed thataltered expression of the selected genes, such as CYP2b2, UGT2b1, A2m, andmASP1 was consistent with the microarray ***-4 exerts protective effects against PL-induced gastroduodenal ulcers viareducing inflammatory cytokines and elevating expression of gastric acidinhibitory factors. We studied effects of nutrient quercetin on cytochromes＇ Р450 1А （CYP1A） activities （measured spectrofluorimetrically using 7-ethoxy-resorufin for CYP1A1 and 7-methoxy-resorufin for CYP1A2 as substrates）, on m RNA levels （measured by RT-PCR）, and on DNA-binding activities （evaluated by an electrophoretic mobility shift assay） of proteins regulating CYP1A expression in untreated and benzo（α）pyrene （ba P）-treated rats. Wistar rats received quercetin, ba P, or both once daily for 1-3 days. Quercetin did not influence CYP1A1 in untreated rats but inhibited ba P-mediated CYP1A induction on the transcriptional level decreasing positive input （Ah R functional activity） and increasing negative input （Ah RR/ARNT expression and Oct-1 and C/EBP functional activities）.

Effectiveness of Four Integrated Pest management Approaches in the Control of Fruit Flies (Diptera: Tephritidae) in mango Agro-Ecosystems in the South-Sudanian Zone of Burkina Faso

This study evaluated the effectiveness of four Integrated Pest management (IPm) approaches in the control of bactrocera dorsalis (Hendel) [Diptera: Tephritidae] and Ceratitis cosyra (Walker) [Diptera: Tephritidae] during two consecutive mango fruiting seasons (2018 and 2019) in the south-Sudanian zone of Burkina Faso. These approaches, including sanitation + m3 bait station (Sm), sanitation + protein GF-120 bait (SG), sanitation + Timaye + m3 bait station (STm) and sanitation + Timaye + GF-120 bait (STG), were implemented in 12 mango orchards in three provinces of the country. In each province, one mango orchard was used as control. Flies per trap per week (FTW) and damage indices were assessed in treated orchards compared to the control orchards. The efficacy rate of each IPm approach in protecting mango against fruit fly attacks was also determined. The STG approach was the most effective in reducing both B. dorsalis and C. cosyra FTW with the best efficacy rate. Further research should emphasize indigenous and affordable attract-and-kill tools for resource poor farmers.

based on the principles that salts can disperse spontaneously onto the surface of supports to form a monolayer and cuprous ions can form complex with CO, a highly efficient CO adsorbent has been made by heating a mixture of CuCl and a zeolite at a suitable temperature to disperse the CuCl onto the surface of the zeolite to form CuCl/Zeoilte,. This adsorbent has high CO adsorption capacity and selectivity over H2, N2, CH4 and CO2。 By using this adsorbent in a VPSA process, many large scale plants have been built in China for separation of CO from syngas. The plants can produce CO on a scale ＞10000m3 / hr with CO purity ＞99% and CO recovery ＞85%.

Constraints of mantle and Crustal Sources Interaction during Orogenesis of Pre-and Post-collision Granitoids from the Northern Arabian-Nubian Shield:A Case Study from Wadi El-Akhder Granitoids,Southern Sinai,Egypt

The Egyptian older and younger granitic rocks emplaced during pre-and post-collision stages of Neoproterozoic Pan-African orogeny,respectively,are widely distributed in the southern Sinai Peninsula,constituting 70% of the basement *** Wadi El-Akhder,southwestern Sinai,is a mountainous terrain exposing two granitoid suites,namely the Wadi El-Akhder Older Granites(AOG)and the Homra Younger Granites(HYG).The AOG(granodiorites with subordinate tonalite compositions)have geochemical characteristics of medium-K calc-alkaline,metaluminous to mildly peraluminous granitoids formed in an island-arc environment,which are conformable with well-known Egyptian older granitoids rocks,whereas the HYG display calc-alkaline to slightly alkaline nature,peraluminous syeno-,monzogranites and alkali feldspar granites matching well those of the Egyptian younger *** respect to the AOG granitoids,the HYG granites contain lower Al_(2)O_(3),FeO^(*),mgO,mnO,CaO,TiO_(2),Sr,ba,and V,but higher Na_(2)O,K_(2)O,Nb,Zr,Th,and *** AOG are generally characterized by enrichment in LILE and LREE and depletion in HFSE relative to N-mORB values(e.g.,negative Nb and ta anomalies).The geochemical features of the AOG follow assimilation-fractional crystallization(AFC)trends indicative of extensive crustal contamination of magma derived from a mantle *** chemical characteristics of the AOG are remarkably similar to those of subduction-related granitoids from the ArabianNubian Shield(ANS).The compositional variations from monzogranites through syenogranites to alkali feldspar granite within HYG could not be explained by fractional crystallization *** the whole-rock composition of the HYG to melts generated by experimental dehydration melting of meta-sedimentary and magmatic rocks reveals that they appear to be derived by extended melting of psammitic and pelitic metasediments,which is similar to the most of younger granitic suites in the ANS.

melting of subducting oceanic lithosphere and associated melt-mantle interactions in convergent plate margins require specific geodynamic environment that allows the oceanic slab to be abnormally *** we focus on the Early mesozoic mafic rocks and granite porphyry,which provide insights into slab melting processes associated with final closure of the Paleo-Asian *** granite porphyry samples are calc-alkaline and distinguished by high Sr contents,strong depletion of heavy rare earth elements,resulting in high(La/Yb);and Sr/Y ratios,and negligible Eu *** on their high Na_(2)O and mg O,low K_(2)O contents,positiveε_(Hf)(t)andε_(Nd)(t)and low(^(87)Sr/^(86)Sr)ivalues,we propose that the granite porphyry was likely derived from partial melting of subducting Paleo-Asian oceanic *** Nb-enriched mafic rocks are enriched in Rb,Th,U,Pb and K,and depleted in Nb,ta,ba,P and Ti,corroborating a subduction-related *** heterogeneous Sr-Nd-Hf-O isotopic compositions and other geochemical features suggest that they were likely derived from partial melting of peridotitic mantle wedge interacted with oceanic slab-derived adakitic *** element and isotope modeling results and elevated zirconδ^(18)O values suggest variable subducting sediments input into the mantle wedge,dominated by terrigenous *** the widely-developed bimodal rock associations,conjugated dikes,thermal metamorphism,tectonic characteristics,paleomagnetic constraints,and paleogeographical evidence along the Solonke-Changchun suture zone,we identify a slab window triggered by slab break-off,which accounts for slab melting and formation of the Nb-enriched mafic rocks and associated adakitic granite porphyry in southeastern Central Asian Orogenic Belt.

Neoarchean granite-greenstone belts and related ore mineralization in the North China Craton:An overview

Tectonic processes involving amalgamations of microblocks along zones of ocean closure represented by granite-greenstone belts(GGB) were fundamental in building the Earth's early continents. The crustal growth and cratonization of the North China Craton(NCC) are correlated to the amalgamation of microblocks welded by 2.75-2.6 Ga and ~2.5 Ga GGBs. The lithological assemblages in the GGBs are broadly represented by volcano-sedimentary sequences, subduction-collision related granitoids and bimodal volcanic rocks(basalt and dacite) interlayered with minor komatiites and calc-alkalic volcanic rocks(basalt, andesite and felsic rock). The geochemical features of meta-basalts in the major GGBs of the NCC display affinity with N-mORB, E-mORB, OIB and calc-alkaline basalt, suggesting that the microblocks were separated by oceanic realm. The granitoid rocks display arc signature with enrichment of LILE(K,Rb, Sr, ba) and LREE, and depletion of HFSE(Nb, ta, Th, U, Ti) and HREE, and fall in the VAG field. The major mineralization includes Neoarchean BIF-type iron and VmS-type Cu-Zb deposits and these,together with the associated supracrustal rocks possibly formed in back-arc basins or arc-related oceanic slab subduction setting with or without input from mantle plumes. The 2.75-2.60 Ga TTG rocks,komatiites, meta-basalts and metasedimentary rocks in the Yanlingguan GGB are correlated to the upwelling mantle plume with eruption close to the continental margin within an ocean basin. The volcanosedimentary rocks and granitoid rocks in the late Neoarchean GGBs display formation ages of 2.60-2.48 Ga, followed by metamorphism at 2.52-2.47 Ga, corresponding to a typical modern-style subduction-collision system operating at the dawn of Proterozoic. The late Neoarchean komatiite(Dongwufenzi GGB), sanukitoid(Dongwufenzi GGB and Western Shandong GGB), BIF(Zunhua GGB) and VmS deposit(Hongtoushan-Qingyuan-Helong GGB) have closer connection to a combined process of oceanic slab subduction and m

Geotectonic significance of the Neoproterozoic ophiolitic metagabbros of muiswirab area,South Eastern Desert,Egypt:constraints from their mineralogical and geochemical characteristics

Petrological and geochemical studies of Neo-proterozoic metagabbros were carried out in the muiswirab area,South Eastern Desert of *** muiswirab area comprises of ophiolitic metagabbroic rocks(mOm),which are tectonically thrusted over a thick pile of metavolcanic rocks and intruded by syn-and post-tectonic granitoid *** whole-rock geochemical variations coupled with chemical compositions of mineral constituents are used to attain the genesis and tectonic evolution of the studied *** geothermobarometric investiga-tion of the analyzed amphiboles from(mOm)revealed that these metagabbros underwent regional metamorphism under lower to upper greenschist facies(biotite zone)conditions(at a temperature of 450 to 500℃and pressure of 1-3 kbar).Geochemically,the metagabbros(mOm)show tholeiitic affinity and cxhibiting both arc-and mORB-like characters as evidenced by their clinopyrox-ene compositions and the Ti/V ratios(11.84-31.65),which considered as prominent features of forearc tectonic *** geochemical features suggest a probable fractionation of olivine±clinopyroxene±plagioclase as well as insignificant crustal *** parental magma of the investigated mOm rocks seems to be developed in a sub-arc mantle wedge setting due to the enrichments of LILE(e.g..Rb,ba,Sr,Pb)over HFSE(e.g,Ti,Nb,Y,Zr,Hf,ta).The studied mOm rocks have lower values of Nb/U relative to mORB and OIB indicating that their geochemical variation produced due to the enrichment of a lithosphere mantle by OIB like *** ratios of Zn/Fet,La/Sm,Sm/Yb,Th/Yb and Nb/Yb indicate that the mOm rocks represent a fragment of oceanic crust originated at a supra-subduction zone environment and their parental magma developed by 5-30%partial melting of a spinel lherzolite mantle rather than pyroxenite in an island arc setting and conformable with most of the Egyptian ophiolitic metagabbros.
