Visual representation and characterization of three-dimensional hydrofracturing cracks within heterogeneous rock through 3D printing and transparent models

the heterogeneity of unconventional reservoir rock tremendously affects its hydrofracturing behavior. A visual representation and accurate characterization of the three-dimensional （3D） growth and distribution of hydrofracturing cracks within heterogeneous rocks is of particular use to the design and implementation of hydrofracturing stimulation of unconventional reservoirs. However, because of the difficulties involved in visually representing and quantitatively characterizing a 3D hydrofracturing crack-network, this issue remains a challenge. In this paper, a novel method is proposed for physically visualizing and quantitatively characterizing the 3D hydrofracturing crack-network distributed through a heterogeneous structure based on a natural glutenite sample. this method incorporates X-ray microfocus computed tomography （μCt）, 3D printing models and hydrofracturing triaxial tests to represent visually the heterogeneous structure, and the 3D crack growth and distribution within a transparent rock model during hydrofracturing. the coupled effects of material heterogeneity and confining geostress on the 3D crack initiation and propagation were analyzed. the results indicate that the breakdown pressure of a heterogeneous rock model is significantly affected by material heterogeneity and confining geostress. the measured breakdown pressures of heterogeneous models are apparently different from those predicted by traditional theories. this study helps to elucidate the quantitative visualization and characterization of the mechanism and influencing factors that determine the hydrofracturing crack initiation and propagation in heterogeneous reservoir rocks.

Herein, we present an approach to look for the best phenomenon to measure quantum correlation. the system of two isolated qubits each interacting with a single-mode cavity was theoretically created to study the quantum correlation. Some of the phenomena, such as the quantum discord and concurrence, were generated through such a system. the influences of initial state purity, qubit motion, and detuning parameters were discussed for the phenomena. these parameters for a specific value show that the behavior of phenomena are analogous. It is interesting to mention that some values of detuning undergo a sudden death of phenomena, and the quantum discord still captures the qubits quantum correlation. We predict that the quantum discord may be a better measure of quantum correlation than concurrence.

the mobility of clusters on a semiconductor surface for various values of cluster size is studied as a function of temperature by kinetic monte Carlo method. the cluster resides on the surface of a square grid. Kinetic processes such as the diffusion of single particles on the surface, their attachment and detachment to/from clusters, diffusion of particles along cluster edges are considered. the clusters considered in this study consist of 150-6000 atoms per cluster on average. A statistical probability of motion to each direction is assigned to each particle where a particle with four nearest neighbors is assumed to be immobile. the mobility of a cluster is found from the root mean square displacement of the center of mass of the cluster as a function of time. It is found that the diffusion coefficient of clusters goes as D = A（t）Na where N is the average number of particles in the cluster, A（t） is a temperature-dependent constant and a is a parameter with a value of about -0.64 〈 a 〈 -0.75. the value of a is found to be independent of cluster sizes and temperature values （170-220 K） considered in this study. As the diffusion along the perimeter of the cluster becomes prohibitive, the exponent approaches a value of -0.5. the diffusion coefficient is found to change by one order of magnitude as a function of cluster size.

Recently,hydrogels have gained enormous interest in three-dimensional(3D)bioprinting toward developing functional substitutes for tissue ***,it is highly challenging to transmit electrical signals to cells due to the limited electrical conductivity of the bioprinted ***,we demonstrate the 3D bioprinting-assisted fabrication of a conductive hydrogel scaffold based on poly-3,4-ethylene dioxythiophene(PEDOt)nanoparticles(NPs)deposited in gelatin methacryloyl(GelmA)for enhanced myogenic differentiation of mouse myoblasts(C2C12 cells).Initially,PEDOt NPs are dispersed in the hydrogel uniformly to enhance the conductive property of the hydrogel ***,the incorporated PEDOt NPs showed minimal influence on the printing ability of ***,C2C12 cells are successfully encapsulated within GelmA/PEDOt conductive hydrogels using 3D extrusion ***,the proliferation,migration and differentiation efficacies of C2C12 cells in the highly conductive GelmA/PEDOt composite scaffolds are demonstrated using various in vitro investigations of live/dead staining,F-actin staining,desmin and myogenin immunofluorescence ***,the effects of electrical signals on the stimulation of the scaffolds are investigated toward the myogenic differentiation of C2C12 cells and the formation of myotubes in ***,our findings demonstrate that the fabrication of the conductive hydrogels provides a feasible approach for the encapsulation of cells and the regeneration of the muscle tissue.

Aphrodisiac potentials of the aqueous extract of Fadogia agrestis(*** Hiern) stem in male albino rats

Aim： to evaluate the phytochemical constituents and the agrestis （Rubiaceae） stem in male albino rats. methods： aphrodisiac potential of the aqueous extract of Fadogia the aqueous stem extract of the plant was screened for phytochemical constituents. male rats were orally dosed with 18 mg/kg, 50 mg/kg and 100 mg/kg body weight, respectively, of the extract at 24 h intervals and their sexual behavior parameters and serum testosterone concentration were evaluated at days 1, 3 and 5. Results： Phytochemical screening revealed the presence of alkaloids and saponins while anthraquinones and flavonoids are weakly present. All the doses resulted in significant increase in mount frequency, intromission frequency and significantly prolonged the ejaculatory latency （P 〈 0.05） and reduced mount and intromission latency （P 〈 0.05）. there was also a significant increase in serum testosterone concentrations in all the groups in a manner suggestive of dose-dependence （P 〈 0.05）. Conclusion： the aqueous extract of Fadogia agrestis stem increased the blood testosterone concentrations and this may be the mechanism responsible for its aphrodisiac effects and various masculine behaviors. It may be used to modify impaired sexual functions in animals, especially those arising from hypotestosteronemia.
