the inversion of the particle size distribution from electrical mobility measurements is analyzed. three different methods are adapted for a dot-matrix approach to the problem, especially for non-square or singular matrices, and applied to electrical mobility measurements from fixed or scanning voltages. mul- tiply charged particles, diffusion losses, arbitrary voltage steps and noise were considered, which results in non-adjoining and overlapping transfer functions. the individual contribution of the transfer func- tions in each size interval was geometrically estimated, which requires only its characteristic mobilities. the methodology is applied to mobility measurements from particles charged with unipolar and bipolar chargers. However, the method can be extrapolated to any charging method with a defined charge distribution, and retrieval of the singly charged particle distribution and mean charge from a tandem differential mobility analysis configuration was successfully demonstrated.

NGLY1 Deficiency is an ultra-rare autosomal recessively inherited disorder. Characteristic symptoms include among others, developmental delays, movement disorders, liver function abnormalities, seizures, and problems with tear formation. movements are hyperkinetic and may include dysmetric, choreo-athetoid, myoclonic and dystonic movement elements. to date, there have been no quantitative reports describing arm movements of individuals with NGLY1 Deficiency. this report provides quantitative information about a series of arm movements performed by an individual with NGLY1 Deficiency and an aged-matched neurotypical participant. three categories of arm movements were tested: 1) open ended reaches without specific end point targets;2) goal-directed reaches that included grasping an object;3) picking up small objects from a table placed in front of the participants. Arm movement kinematics were obtained with a camera-based motion analysis system and “initiation” and “maintenance” phases were identified for each movement. the combination of the two phases was labeled as a “complete” movement. three-dimensional analysis techniques were used to quantify the movements and included hand trajectory pathlength, joint motion area, as well as hand trajectory and joint jerk cost. these techniques were required to fully characterize the movements because the NGLY1 individual was unable to perform movements only in the primary plane of progression instead producing motion across all three planes of movement. the individual with NGLY1 Deficiency was unable to pick up objects from a table or effectively complete movements requiring crossing the midline. the successfully completed movements were analyzed using the above techniques and the results of the two participants were compared statistically. Urbanization of species is an ongoing process where successful urban colonizers usually obtain large fitness benefits. mechanisms proposed to explain associations between urbanization and lifehistory traits are based on behavioral flexibility in food and habitat use and reduced fear responses. We test the novel hypothesis that interspecific competition for proximity to humans is driving ur- banization. We recorded the distance during the breeding season to human habitation for 50 pairs of closely related bird species, where one was closely associated with humans while the other species was not. the degree of urbanization was larger as was range size and abundance in the species more closely associated to humans. Flight initiation distance was shorter, and species closely associated with humans were more abundant in ancestral rural habitats. Likewise, species more closely associated with humans reproduced earlier and during longer periods. these results are consistent with the hypothesis that urbanization is promoted by interspecific competition. Resulting isolation by urban habitat may further facilitate contemporary adaptation to urban environments.

NGLY1 Deficiency is an autosomal recessive congenital disorder that has been identified in less than 100 individuals. most individuals with NGLY1 Deficiency display hyperkinetic movement disorders, including choreiform, athetoid, dystonic myoclonic, dyskinetic, and dysmetric movements. Developing a consistent and concise consensus on the classification and evaluation of tremors is essential to forward the research and treatment of tremors. It has also been reported that some individuals with NGLY1 Deficiency demonstrate tremor, but such tremor has never been formally investigated. the primary objective of this study is to determine if an individual with NGLY1 Deficiency demonstrates an identifiable tremor during a series of arm movements and, if so, describe the frequency and power characteristics of that tremor. Arm movement kinematics were obtained using a 16-camera Vicon system, and time series trajectory waveforms for three planes of a marker placed on the hand were developed. Custom mAtLAB scripts were utilized to compute Fast Fourier transformations of the data within the identified waveform segments. A mean frequency of 2.30 Hz (SD = 1.05) with a mean power of 5.02 |P1(f)| (SD = 4.63) suggests that our participant’s kinematic data did display a persistent tremor in both hands across all tasks and movement planes. Analyses of the reaching hand and the non-reaching hand suggest the participant displayed an action tremor in both postural and intention (kinetic) tremors. Future directions should include assessing additional individuals with NGLY1 Deficiency to determine if the tremor is a distinguishable disorder behavior. Additionally, evaluating other anatomical sites, such as the elbow, head, and lower limbs, would provide further insights into the characteristics of this tremor.

this study aims to analyze rapeseed oil’s effectiveness as a coolant of a high-voltage direct current(HVDC)converter transformer while comparing it with mineral *** employed a numerical model,assisted by Computational Fluid Dynamics(CFD)tools,to simulate the convective heat transfer inside a HVDC converter transformer,which is an oil-directed air forced(ODAF)*** model seeks to obtain the temperature and velocity fields at the critical points of the fluid *** simulation domain reproduces a 2D cross-sectional model in the center of the *** results show that rapeseed oil requires more time to gain heat from the core and windings due to its lower thermal ***,the average temperature of rapeseed and mineral oils will not significantly differ once the channel temperature reaches a stable *** indicates that the rapeseed oil can effectively replace mineral oil under the same heating ***,a slower flow of the rapeseed oil allows the fluid to smoothly enter the cooling ***,the rapeseed oil cools these channels by pushing the fluid in them and absorbs heat from the sources earlier than mineral *** improvement in cooling indicates that rapeseed oil is better than mineral oil as a coolant and electrical insulating fluid for power transformers.

Flavor violating Higgs signals, such as the top FCNC decay t→ch0 and the LFV Higgs decay h0→τμ, have been studied at the LHC. these signals can arise within the general two-Higgs Doublet model （tHDm）, where each Higgs doublet couples to all fermion types through Yukawa matrices Yf 1 and Y f2 . the Yukawa matrices can be assumed to have the same form or they could have different structures. In this paper we study the case when both Yf1 and Y f2 have completely different forms, but in such a way that they complement to produce a specific hermitian mass matrix. We find that for specific four-zero textures, the flavor violating Higgs couplings depend only on the free parameters tan β, γf and the fermion masses. We use the current bounds on the low energy processes to derive constraints on the heavy Higgs boson mass, tanβand γf then, we use these constraints to evaluate the LFV Higgs decays, which reach branching ratios that could be tested at the LHC.
