Partial backlogging inventory model with price and stock level dependent demand,time varying holding cost and quantity discounts

This article deals with an increasing total profit for inventory optimal ordered quantity and partial backlogging with the holding cost depending on the storage time period,and the rate of market demand is assumed to fluctuate as a function,based on level of stock and selling price.Thereafter,using the concept of a Hessian matrix,we have proved the concave nature of the profit function for the case where maximum cost is obtained.Finally,in order to validate the derived models,numerical examples and sensitivity analysis are explained.Through numerical test,we show that the proposed algorithms give quite satisfactory solutions.Hence,it can be concluded that the total profit can be increased by allowing shortage and partial backlogging.

Characteristic analysis on the physical properties of nanostructured mg-doped CdO thin films—Doping concentration effect

Highly conductive and transparent magnesium-doped cadmium oxide(CdO :mg) thin films have been deposited on suitably cleaned glass substrates maintained at 375℃ by spray pyrolysis technique using perfume atomizer. The magnesium content in the films is varied from 0 to 8 at%in steps of 2 at%. The effect of mg doping on the structural, morphological, optical and electrical properties of the CdO thin films has been studied.All the films exhibited cubic structure with a preferential orientation along the(1 1 1) plane irrespective of the mg doping level. SEm analysis showed that the film morphology modifies from spherical shaped grains to closely packed cauliflower shaped nanostructures with mg doping.Except for the film coated with 2 at% mg dopant, all the other doped films exhibited a blue shift in the optical band gap. Electrical studies revealed that the Cd O:mg film coated with 8 at% mg dopant had a minimum resistivity of 0.0853*10～1Ω-cm.

Objective:To examine the antidiarrhoeal activity of alcoholic and aqueous seed kernel extract of mangifera indica(m.indica) on castor oil-induced diarrhoeul activity in Swiss albino mice.methods:mango seed kernels were processed and extracted using alcohol and water. Antidiarrhoeal activity of the extracts were assessed using intestinal motility and faecal score methods.Results:Aqueous and alcoholic extracts of m.indica significantly reduced intestinal motility and faecal score in Swiss albino mice.Conclusions:The present study shows the traditional claim on the use of m.indica seed kernel for treating diarrhoea in Southern parts of India.

Identification of α-glucosidase inhibitors from Clinacanthus nutans leaf extract using liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry-based metabolomics and protein-ligand interaction with molecular docking

The present study used in vitro and in silico techniques, as well as the metabolomics approach to characterise α-glucosidase inhibitors from different fractions of Clinacanthus nutans. C. nutans is a medicinal plant belonging to the Acanthaceae family, and is traditionally used to treat diabetes in malaysia. nHexane, n-hexane: ethyl acetate(1:1, v/v), ethyl acetate, ethyl acetate: methanol(1:1, v/v), and methanol fractions were obtained via partitioning of the 80% methanolic crude extract. The in vitro α-glucosidase inhibitory activity was analyzed using all the fractions collected, followed by profiling of the metabolites using liquid chromatography combined with mass spectrometry. The partial least square(PLS) statistical model was developed using the SImCA P^+14.0 software and the following four inhibitors were obtained:(1) 4,6,8-megastigmatrien-3-one;(2) N-Isobutyl-2-nonen-6,8-diynamide;(3) 1′,2′-bis(acetyloxy)-3′,4′-didehydro-2′-hydro-β, ψ-carotene; and(4) 22-acetate-3-hydroxy-21-(6-methyl-2,4-octadienoate)-olean-12-en-28-oic acid. The in silico study performed via molecular docking with the crystal structure of yeast isomaltase(PDB code: 3 A4 A) involved a hydrogen bond and some hydrophobic interactions between the inhibitors and protein. The residues that interacted include ASN259, HID295, LYS156, ARG335,and GLY209 with a hydrogen bond, while TRP15, TYR158, VAL232, HIE280, ALA292, PRO312, LEU313,VAL313, PHE314, ARG315, TYR316, VAL319, and TRP343 with other forms of bonding.
