An overview of diagnostic tools e test limiters and collector probes e used over the years for material migration studies in the TEXTOR tokamak is presented.Probe transfer systems are shown and their technical capabilities are described.This is accompanied by a brief pre-sentation of selected results and conclusions from the research on material erosion e deposition processes including tests of candidate materials(e.g.W,mo,carbon-based composites)for plasma-facing components in controlled fusion devices.The use of tracer techniques and methods for analysis of materials retrieved from the tokamak are summarized.The impact of research on the reactor wall technology is addressed.

Petrophysical properties assessment using wireline logs data at well#3 of Srikail gas field,Bangladesh

This study focused on the quantitative analysis of the petrophysical parameters in characterizing the reservoir properties of the Srikail gas field using multi-scale wireline logs.Petrophysical parameters(shale volume,porosity,water saturation and hydrocarbon saturation)were estimated from the combination of gamma ray log,resistivity log,density log and neutron log for three hydrocarbon(gas)-bearing zones at well#3.At the first time,log records at 0.1 m and 0.2 m intervals were read for this study.Result showed the average shale volume is 21.07%,53.67%and 51.71%for zone-1,zone-2 and zone-3,respectively.For these zones,the estimated average porosity was 35.89%,29.83%and 28.76%,respectively.The average water saturation of 31.54%,16.83%and 23.39%and average hydrocarbon saturation of 68.46%,83.17%and 76.61%were calculated for zone-1,zone-2 and zone-3,respectively.Thus zone-2 is regarded the most productive zone of well#3.It was found that the values of some parameters(porosity,hydrocarbon saturation and permeability)are higher than the existing results.Therefore,this study confirmed that the log reading at minute/close interval provides better quantitive values of the reservoir’s petrophysical properties.It is expected that this result will contribute to the national gas field development program in future.

Study on Periodic mHD Flow with Temperature Dependent Viscosity and Thermal Conductivity past an Isothermal Oscillating Cylinder

Temperature dependent viscosity and thermal conducting heat and mass transfer flow with chemical reaction and periodic magnetic field past an isothermal oscillating cylinder have been considered. The partial dimensionless equations governing the flow have been solved numerically by applying explicit finite difference method with the help Compaq visual 6.6a. The obtained outcome of this inquisition has been discussed for different values of well-known flow parameters with different time steps and oscillation angle. The effect of chemical reaction and periodic mHD parameters on the velocity field, temperature field and concentration field, skin-friction, Nusselt number and Sherwood number have been studied and results are presented by graphically. The novelty of the present problem is to study the streamlines by taking into account periodic magnetic field.

Comparative kinome analysis to identify putative colon tumor biomarkers

Kinase domains are the type of protein domain most commonly found in genes associated with tumorigenesis.Because of this, the human kinome( the protein kinase component of the genome) represents a promising source of cancer biomarkers and potential targets for novel anticancer therapies. Alterations in the human colon kinome during the progression from normal colon(NC) through adenoma(AD) to adenocarcinoma(AC) were investigated using integrated transcriptomic and proteomic datasets. Two hundred thirty kinase genes and 42 kinase proteins showed differential expression patterns( fold change≥1.5) in at least one tissue pair-wise comparison(AD vs. NC, AC vs. NC, and/or AC vs. AD). Kinases that exhibited similar trends in expression at both the m RNA and protein levels wre further analyzed in individual samples of NC( n =20),AD(n=39), and AC(n=24) by quantitative reverse transcriptase PCR. Individual samples of NC and tumor tissue were distinguishable based on the m RNA levels of a set of 20 kinases. Altered expression of several of these kinases, including chaperone activity of bc1 complex-like(CABC1) kinase, bromodomain adjacent to zinc finger domain protein 1B(BAZ1B) kinase,calcium/calmodulindependent protein kinase type II subunit delta(CAmK2D), serine/threonine-protein kinase 24(STK24),vacciniarelated kinase 3( VRK3), and TAO kinase 3( TAOK3), has not been previously reported in tumor tissue. These findings may have diagnostic potential and may lead to the development of novel targeted therapeutic interventions for colorectal cancer.
