Arctic sea-ice extent reaches its minimum each year in September. On 11 September 2023 the minimum was 4.969 million square kilometers(***^(2)). This was not a record low, which occurred in 2012, when the minimum was 4.175 ***^(2), 0.794 ***^(2) less than the minimum in 2023. However, the ice extent had decreased by 0.432 ***^(2) compared with 2022. Nevertheless, the summer melting in 2023 was remarkably less than expected when considering the strong heat waves in the atmosphere and ocean, with record temperatures set around the world. In general, there is a high correlation between the long-term decrease in sea-ice extent and the increasing cO_(2) in the atmosphere, where the increase of cO_(2) in recent decades explains about 80% of the decrease in sea ice in September, while the remainder is caused by natural variability.

The brain's extracellular matrix(Ecm),which is comprised of protein and glycosaminoglycan(GAG)scaffolds,constitutes 20%-40% of the human brain and is considered one of the largest influencers on brain cell functioning(Soles et al.,2023).Synthesized by neural and glial cells,the brain's Ecm regulates a myriad of homeostatic cellular processes,including neuronal plasticity and firing(miyata et al.,2012),cation buffering(moraws ki et al.,2015),and glia-neuron interactions(Anderson et al.,2016).considering the diversity of functions,dynamic remodeling of the brain's Ecm indicates that this understudied medium is an active participant in both normal physiology and neurological diseases.

cold-sprayed magnesium coatings have been little researched although cold spraying has been applied to deposit a large number of materials such as metals,metal matrix *** the present study,helium gas and air were employed as the propelling gases to deposit mg coatings under the temperature of 600℃and 630℃.The effect of gas types on the coating microstructure was *** is much interesting to find that the particle deposition efficiency using helium gas as propelling gas is lower than that using *** suggests that strong erosion occurred during cold spraying using helium *** porosity of the coating using helium gas is lower than that using *** addition,the in-flight particle velocity was also simulated by the FLUENT software to explore the effect of gas *** modeled results show that the in-flight particle velocity using helium is higher than the erosion velocity of mg particle.

Wheat （Triticum aestivum） seeds were treated with atmospheric pressure gliding arc discharge plasmas to investigate the effects on water absorption, seed germination rate, seedling growth and yield in wheat. The surface architectures and functionalities of the seeds were found to modify due to plasma treatments. 6 rain treatment was provided 95%-100% germination rate. For the treatment duration of 3 and 9 rain the growth activity, dry matter accumulation, leaves chlorophyll contents, longest spikes, number of spikes/spikelet and total soluble protein content in shoots were improved. The grain yield of wheat was increased ,--20% by 6 min treatment with H2O/O2 plasma with respect to control.

Nitrogen (N) is a crucial nutrient vital for the growth and productivity of maize. However, excessive nitrogen application can result in numerous environmental and ecological problems, such as water pollution, biodiversity loss, and greenhouse gas emissions. Therefore, breeding maize hybrids resilient to low nitrogen conditions is crucial for sustainable agriculture, especially under low nitrogen conditions. consequently, this study aimed to evaluate the combining ability and heterosis of maize lines, recognize promising hybrids, and study gene action controlling key traits under low and recommended N stress conditions. The half-diallel mating design hybridized seven maize inbreds, resulting in 21 F1 hybrids. These hybrids, along with two high-yielding commercial hybrids (Sc10 and TWc310), were evaluated in field trials under recommended (290 kg/ha) and low N (166 kg N/ha) conditions. Significant variations were observed among assessed hybrids for all measured traits, with non-additive gene action being predominant for grain yield and its related characteristics under recommended and low N conditions. Inbred lines P105 and P106 were recognized as effective combiners for earliness, with P105 also excelling in shorter plant height and lower ear placement. In addition, P101, P102, and P104 were identified as good combiners for increasing grain yield and related attributes under low N conditions. The crosses P105 × P106 and P106 × P107 demonstrated outstanding heterotic effects for earliness, while hybrids P101 × P102 and P102 × P104 exhibited remarkable heterotic effects for grain yield low nitrogen stress conditions. These promising hybrids could be considered for commercial use after further evaluation. Strong positive correlations were found between grain yield and ear height, plant height, number of kernels per row, and 1000-grain weight, highlighting their importance for indirect selection to enhance the grain yield of maize under low N stress conditions.

Background: Intraperitoneal instillation (IPI) of local anesthesia was reported to reduce postoperative pain after laparoscopic surgeries. We aim to evaluate the effectiveness of IPI of bupivacaine + dexmedetomidine versus bupivacaine + dexamethasone on postoperative pain in patients undergoing laparoscopic cholecystectomy (Lc). methods: This randomized clinical trial was carried out on one hundred patients who underwent Lc under general anesthesia. Patients were randomly divided into: Group (Dexa): IPI of bupivacaine with dexamethasone and Group (Dexmed): IPI of bupivacaine with dexmedetomidine. results: The first time to request analgesia was significantly delayed in the dexmed group (P value conclusions: Intraperitoneal Bupivacaine + Dexmedetomidine provided longer pain-free postoperative duration lower pain score over time, and lesser analgesic consumption.
