Petrogenesis of carbonatitic lamproitic dykes from Sidhi gneissic complex,Central India

Petrographic, mineral chemical and whole-rock geochemical characteristics of two newly discovered lamproitic dykes(Dyke 1 and Dyke 2) from the Sidhi Gneissic Complex(SGC), Central India are presented here. Both these dykes have almost similar sequence of mineral-textural patterns indicative of:(1) an early cumulate forming event in a deeper magma chamber where megacrystic/large size phenocrysts of phlogopites have crystallized along with subordinate amount of olivine and clinopyroxene;(2) crystallization at shallow crustal levels promoted fine-grained phlogopite, K-feldspar, calcite and Fe-Ti oxides in the groundmass;(3) dyke emplacement related quench texture(plumose K-feldspar, acicular phlogopites) and finally(4) post emplacement autometasomatism by hydrothermal fluids which percolated as micro-veins and altered the mafic phases. Phlogopite phenocrysts often display resorption textures together with growth zoning indicating that during their crystallization equilibrium at the crystal-melt interface fluctuated multiple times probably due to incremental addition or chaotic dynamic self mixing of the lamproitic magma. Carbonate aggregates as late stage melt segregation are common in both these dykes, however their micro-xenolithic forms suggest that assimilation with a plutonic carbonatite body also played a key role in enhancing the carbonatitic nature of these dykes. Geochemically both dykes are ultrapotassic(K_2 O/Na_2 O: 3.0-9.4) with low CaO, Al_2 O_3 and Na_2 O content and high SiO_2(53.3-55.6 wt.%)and K_2 O/Al_2 O_3 ratio(0.51-0.89) characterizing them as high-silica lamproites. Inspite of these similarities, many other features indicate that both these dykes have evolved independently from two distinct magmas. In dyke 1, phlogopite composition has evolved towards the minette trend(Al-enrichment) from a differentiated parental magma having low mgO, Ni and Cr content; whereas in dyke 2, phlogopite composition shows an evolutionary affinity towards the lamproit

On the Controllability of an Advection-diffusion Equation with Respect to the Diffusion Parameter:Asymptotic Analysis and Numerical Simulations

The advection-diffusion equation y_t~ε-εy_(xx)~ε+ m y_x~ε= 0,(x, t) ∈(0, 1) ×(0, T) is null controllable for any strictly positive values of the diffusion coefficient ε and of the controllability time T. We discuss here the behavior of the cost of control when the coefficient ε goes to zero, according to the values of T. It is actually known that this cost is uniformly bounded with respect to ε if T is greater than a minimal time T_m, with T_m in the interval [1, 2×3^(1/2)]/m for m > 0 and in the interval [2×2^(1/2), 2(1 +3^(1/2))]/|m | for m m is however *** investigate in this work the determination of the minimal time T_m employing two distincts but complementary approaches. In a first one, we numerically estimate the cost of controllability, reformulated as the solution of a generalized eigenvalue problem for the underlying control operator, with respect to the parameter T and ε. This allows notably to exhibit the structure of initial data leading to large costs of control. At the practical level, this evaluation requires the non trivial and challenging approximation of null controls for the advection-diffusion equation. In the second approach, we perform an asymptotic analysis, with respect to the parameter ε, of the optimality system associated to the control of minimal L^2-norm. The matched asymptotic expansion method is used to describe the multiple boundary layers.

Dark Energy models and Cosmic Acceleration with Anisotropic Universe in f(T) Gravity

This paper is devoted to studing the accelerated expansion of the universe in context of f(T) theory of gravity. For this purpose, we construct different f(T) models and investigate their cosmological behavior through equation of state parameter by using holographic, new agegraphic and their power-law entropy corrected dark energy models. We discuss the graphical behavior of this parameter versus redshift for particular values of constant parameters in Bianchi type I universe model. It is shown that the universe lies in different forms of dark energy, namely quintessence,phantom, and quintom corresponding to the chosen scale factors, which depend upon the constant parameters of the models.

Soil Contamination due to E-Waste Disposal and Recycling Activities: A Review with Special Focus on China

This paper presents a review of soil contamination resulting from e-waste recycling activities, with a special focus on China, where many data have been collected for a decade. Soils in the e-waste areas are often contaminated by heavy metals and organic compounds, mainly polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs), polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDEs), polychlorinated and polybrominated biphenyls (PCBs and PBBs), dechlorane plus (DP), hexabromocyclododecanes (HBCDs), polychlorinated and polybrominated dibenzo- p-dioxins (PCDDs and PBDDs), and polychlorinated and polybrominated dibenzofurans (PCDFs and PBDFs), while other compounds, not systematically monitored, can be found as well. Pollutants are generally present in mixtures, so pollution situations are complex and diversified with a gradient of contamination from agricultural soils to hot spots at e-waste sites and mainly in open burning areas. It has been proved that pollutants were transferred to the food chain via rice in China, and that the population was threatened since high levels of various pollutants were detected in blood, placentas, hair, etc., of residents of e-waste sites. Eventually, soil remediation techniques are reviewed. Although there are many available techniques devoted to heavy metals and persistent organic pollutants, the current techniques for the e-waste sites, where these contaminants coexist, are very sparse. Phytoremediation has been investigated and co-cropping appears as a promising approach for the slightly contaminated agricultural soils. In some cases, different remediation techniques should be combined or trained, while the influence of coexisting contaminants and the removal sequence of contaminants should be considered. In hot spots, physical and chemical techniques should be used to reduce high pollution levels to prevent further pollutant dissemination. PmmA-doped CdSe quantum dots as saturable absorber in a Q-switched all-fiber laser

We demonstrate the generation of Q-switched pulses from an ytterbium-doped fiber laser（YDFL） using quantum dot（QD） CdSe as a passive saturable absorber（SA）. The CdSe QD is fabricated by the synthesis of CdO,Se, and manganese acetate and paraffin oil and oleic acid as the solvent and surfactant, respectively. The CdSe QD is then doped into poly-methyl-methacrylate（PmmA） via an emulsion polymerization process. A PmmAhosted CdSe QD thin flake with a homogeneous end surface is then formed and placed between two ferrules and assembled in a YDFL cavity to achieve the Q-switching operation with a repetition rate of 24.45 to 40.50 kHz while varying the pump power from 975 to 1196 mW. The pulse width changes from 6.78 to 3.65 μs with a maximum calculated pulse energy at 0.77 μJ at a pump power of 1101 mW. This work may be the first demonstration of CdSe QD-based Q-switching in an all-fiber configuration that should give proportional insight into semiconductor QD materials in photonics applications.

Synthesis and Spectroscopic Characterizations of New mercury(Ⅱ), Cerium(Ⅲ), and Thorium(Ⅳ) Captopril Drug Complexes

In this article, three types of metal ions with different oxidation state as mercury(Ⅱ), cerium(Ⅲ) thorium(Ⅳ) have been reacted with captopril drug(CAP). The isolated solid complexes were explained using elemental analysis, conductance measurements, infrared and 1H-NmR spectroscopy as well as the thermo gravimetric(TG/DTG) analysis. The micro analytical and spectroscopic results for all CAP complexes were agreement with the speculated structures. The stoichiometry for divalent Hg^2+, trivalent Ce^3+ and tetravalent Th(4+) metal ions with CAP ligand was established with 1∶2(m(n+):CAP) molar ratio. The qualitative analysis showed that in case of the mercury(Ⅱ) complex, the chloride ions didn't involved in the complexity, suggesting formula [Hg(CAP)2] in neutral form. However, regarding both Ce(Ⅲ) and Th(Ⅳ) complexes as [Ce(CAP)2(NO3)]·3 H2O and [Th(CAP)2(NO3)2(H2O)]·3 H2O formulas, the nitrate group is existed inside the coordination sphere. The infrared analysis data proved that CAP drug act as a bidentate ligand with the metal ions of Ce(Ⅲ) and Th(Ⅳ) through oxygen carbonyl group C=O and oxygen of the deprotonated carboxylic COOH group, while for the Hg(Ⅱ) complex, the CAP acts as a bidentate ligand through oxygen of C=O group and sulfur atom of the deprotonated -SH group. Thorium(Ⅵ) complex has a nine-coordinate geometry, while Hg(Ⅱ) and Ce(Ⅲ) have a four and six-coordination behaviors respectively. The 1H-NmR data of the CAP compound has a singlet sharp signal at 1.90 ppm due to the proton of -SH group, this peak absent in the spectrum of the Hg(Ⅱ) CAP complex upon the deprotonated of thiol group.

Characteristics of Ions Emitted from Laser-Induced Silver Plasma

In this work, study of laser-induced ions is presented. The plasma was produced by focusing a Nd：YAG laser, with a wavelength of 1064 nm, a pulsed width of 9-14 ns, a power of 1.1 mW and energy of 10 mJ, on silver target in vacuum （10-3 Torr= 1.3332 Pa）. The characteristics of ion streams were investigated by CR-39 detectors located at angles of 0°, 30°, 60° and 90° with respect to normal of the target. The distance between the silver target and each detector was 11 cm. The energy of silver ions was found ranging from 1.5 eV to 1.06E4 eV. There was a high concentration of ions with low energy as compared to those with high energy, showing the energy distribution amongst the ions. The flux of ions was maximum in the axial direction which was decreasing with the angle increase with respect to normal of the target, and finally became minimum in the radial direction. Hence the silver ions have shown anisotropic behaviour.

C-type lectin receptor-induced NF-κB activation in innate immune and inflammatory responses

The C-type lectin receptors （CLRs） belong to a large family of proteins that contain a carbohydrate recognition domain （CRD） and calcium binding sites on their extracellular domains. Recent studies indicate that many CLRs, such as Dectin-1, Dectin-2 and mincle, function as pattern recognition receptors （PRRs） recognizing carbohydrate ligands from infected microorganisms. Upon ligand binding, these CLRs induce multiple signal transduction cascades through their own immunoreceptor tyrosine-based activation motifs （ITAms） or interacting with ITAm-containing adaptor proteins such as FcRy. Emerging evidence indicate that CLR-induced signaling cascades lead to the activation of nuclear factor kappaB （NF-KB） family of transcriptional factors through a Syk- and CARD9-dependent pathway（s）. The activation of NF-κB plays a critical role in the induction of innate immune and inflammatory responses following microbial infection and tissue damages. In this review, we will summarize the recent progress on the signal transduction pathways induced by CLRs. and how these CLRs activate NF-κB and contribute to innate immune and inflammatory responses.
