The aim of this work is to study the solution of the smoothed particle hydrodynamics(SPH)discrete formulation of the hydrostatic problem with a free *** problem,in which no time dependency is considered,takes the form of a system of linear *** particular,the problem in one dimension is *** focus is set on the convergence when both the particle spacing and the smoothing length tend to zero by keeping constant their *** of this ratio of the order of one,corresponding to a limited number of neighbors,are of practical ***,the problem in which each particle has one single neighbor at each side is *** explicit expressions of the numerical solution and the quadratic error are provided in this *** expression of the quadratic error demonstrates that the SPH solution does not converge to the exact one in general under the specified *** this case,the error converges to a residue,which is in general large compared to the norm of the exact *** cases with two and three neighbors are also *** analytical study in the case of two neighbors is performed,showing how the kernel influences the accuracy of the solution through modifying the condition number of the referred system of linear *** addition to that,a numerical investigation is carried out using several Wendland kernel *** two and three neighbors are involved it is found that the error tends in most cases to a small limiting value,different from zero,while divergent solutions are also found in the case of two neighbors with the Wendland Kernel *** cases with more neighbors are also *** general,the Wendland Kernel C2 turns out to be the worst choice,as the solution is divergent for certain values of the ratio between the particle spacing and the smoothing length,associated with an ill-conditioned matrix.

The present study evaluates ground-based downward surface shortwave radiation (Rs) over the coastal region of Alicante (Southeastern Spain).Hourly measurements collected over the eleven-year period 2010-2020 are *** weather stations located over the region capital,Alicante,have been selected as representative of urban and suburban *** additional weather stations far from the city have been selected representing rural *** is significantly reduced over the urban station during the morning hours within the winter season compared to the observations recorded over the suburban and rural stations,with a global mean difference of-81 and-120 W/m^(2)at 10 LT,***,no significant differences are obtained during the midday sun,with a global mean difference of-20 W/m^(2)between the urban and rural *** the aim of explaining these differences,the current paper investigates the relationship between Rsand different air pollutants:NOx,SO_(2),and fine particulate matter (Pm_(2.5)and Pm_(10)) as well as the wind field measured at the urban and suburban *** results found in this work point towards a close relationship between Rsand NOxconcentrations annual cycles,which are also influenced by the prevailing wind circulations observed over the study area.A global mean NOxconcentration of 107μg/m^(3)is observed over the urban station at 10 LT during the winter *** contrast,these high concentrations are significantly reduced over the suburban station,with global mean value of 40μg/m^(3)at 10 LT,for this period of the year.

We study the characteristics of plasma–wave interaction in helicon plasmas near the lower hybrid ***(0D)dispersion relation is derived to analyze the properties of the wave propagation and a 1D cylindrical plasma–wave interaction model is established to investigate the power deposition and to implement the parametric *** is concluded that the lower hybrid resonance is the main mechanism of the power deposition in helicon plasmas when the RF frequency is near the lower hybrid frequency and the power deposition mainly concentrates on a very thin layer near the ***,it causes that the plasma resistance has a large local peak near the lower hybrid frequency and the variation of the plasma density and the parallel wavenumber lead to the frequency shifting of the local *** is found that the magnetic field is still proportional to the plasma density for the local maximum plasma resistance and the slope changes due to the transition.

N6-methyladenosine(m6A)is the most abundant modification in eukaryotic messenger RNA.1 This modification is dynamic,reversible,and mediated by proteins characterized as methyltransferases and *** investigations have found that aberrant expression of methyltransferases and demethylases results in m6A dysregulation and,in consequence,affects the biological functions in which this modification is ***,m6A dysregulation affects the development and maintenance of various diseases,including cancer.2 For this reason,we explored the potential role that m6A modification has in invasive breast cancer of no special type(IBC-NST)and its molecular subtypes luminal A,luminal B HER2-,luminal B HER2+,HER2+,and triple-negative breast cancer(TNBC)whose degree of global m6A methylation has not yet been studied.

Plasma electrolytic oxidation(PEO)coatings developed under voltage-controlled mode on various commercial wrought,gravity cast and rheocast aluminium alloys were discussed with respect to enhancement of their tribological and corrosionperformance and minimization of the PEO energy *** is demonstrated that use of conventional porous anodic filmprecursors reduces the PEO energy consumption by up to50%.The wear of6082alloy with PEO coatings with addedα-Al2O3particles is two times lower compared with electrolytic hard *** long-term corrosion resistance of the PEO-coatedA356rheocast alloy is enhanced via use of a precursor and hydrophobic post-treatment.

Forests improve the livelihoods and resilience of communities in diverse ways. In particular, soils provide important environmental services for communities in addition to performing many essential ecological functions in forest ecosystems, such as nutrient uptake, organic matter decomposition, water storage, and provision of anchorage for plant growth. The sound management of forest soils, although often disregarded, is a key element of sustainable forest management. From 2002 to 2016 the Forest Soil Conservation and Restoration Sub-Program was designed and implemented by the National Forest Commission (CONAFOR) in Mexico. Forests in Mexico have high biological diversity and are often owned, governed, and managed by communities or, in some cases, community forestry is practiced. Despite the importance of periodic monitoring to ensure that policies are both effective and suitable for diverse conditions and decision making, the policies implemented by this program were not evaluated during its years of operation. Therefore, in the present study, we aimed to identify the deficiencies of this policy as well as opportunities based on a review of the official information available on the Forest Soil Conservation and Restoration Sub-Program of CONAFOR during the 2002-mily:Verdana;">2016 period and interviews with key informants. In addition, we aimed to highlight experiences that may be useful for similar soil conservation policies in tropical forest regions. The identified limitations ranged from conceptual problems such as policy weakness and lack of understanding of local drivers of soil degradation to an overly rigid implementation of soil conservation measures across diverse forest ecosystems and socio-ecological contexts. These deficiencies had several unintended outcomes: perhaps the most relevant was the inability of forest communities

mussels from two sites within the Baltic mussel (mytilus edulis × m. trossulus) hybrid zone were used in a comparative study on the effects of salinity-changing rates on filtration activity. The acute effect of varying salinity-changing rates was found to be similar in m. edulis from the brackish Great Belt and in m. trossulus from the low saline Central Baltic Sea, and the relationships could be described by linear regression lines through 0.0 indicating that the acute effect of deteriorating conditions at decreasing salinities is the opposite as for improving conditions when the salinity is subsequently increased. Further, both m. edulis and m. trossulus acclimatized to 20 psu reacted to an acute salinity change to 6.5 psu by immediately closing their valves whereupon the filtration rate gradually increased during the following days, but only m. trossulus had completely acclimatized to 6.5 psu within 5 days which may be explained by different genotypes of m. edulis and m. trossulus which probably reflected an evolutionary adaptation of the latter to survive in the stable low-salinity Baltic Sea.

Background:Gleason score grading is a cornerstone of risk stratification and management of patients with prostate cancer(PCa).In this work,we derive and validate a nomogram that uses prostate multiparametric magnetic resonance imaging(mP-mRI)and clinical patient characteristics to predict biopsy Gleason scores(bGS).materials and methods:A predictive nomogram was derived from 143 men who underwent mP-mRI prior to any prostate biopsy and then validated on an independent cohort of 235 men from a different institution who underwent mP-mRI for PCa *** positive lesions were defined as lesions positive on T2W and DWI sequences on *** specific antigen(PSA)density,number of screen positive lesions,and mRI suspicion were associated with PCa Gleason score on biopsy and were used to generate a predictive *** independent cohort was tested on the nomogram and the most likely bGS was ***:The mean PSA in the validation cohort was 9.25ng/mL versus 6.8ng/mL in the original cohort(p=0.001).The distribution of Gleason scores between the 2 cohorts were not significantly different(p=0.7).In the original cohort of men,the most probable nomogram generated Gleason score agreed with actual pathologic bGS findings in 61%of the *** the validation cohort,the most likely nomogram predicted bGS agreed with actual pathologic bGS 51%of the *** nomogram correctly identified any PCa versus non-PCa 63%of the time and clinically significant(Gleason score≥7)PCa 69%of the *** negative predictive value for clinically significant PCa using this prebiopsy nomogram was 74%in the validation ***:A preintervention nomogram based on PSA and mRI findings can help narrow down the likely pathologic finding on *** of the nomogram demonstrated a significant ability to correctly identify the most likely *** feasibility study demonstrates the potential of a prebiopsy prediction of bGS and based on the high negative predictive value,i
