The aim of this work was to study effects of ketotifen fumarate(KF)on prevention of tissue damage in testes of rats with experimental autoimmune orchitis(EAO)and on the contralateral testis in a model of prolonged testicular cord torsion(TCT).Rats with EAO or TCT were injected intraperitoneally once daily with KF or saline solution(vehicle group).Incidence and severity of testicular damage were evaluated by histopathology using an EAO score or a Johnsen *** cells(mC)were identified by histochemistry and *** EAO model,KF significantly reduced severity of histopathological testicular damage compared to rats in the vehicle *** also reduced the number of testicular mC compared to vehicle ***,in TCT model,multifocal damage of the contralateral testis was observed 30 days after testicular torsion characterized by sloughing of the germinal epithelium,seminiferous tubule atrophy,and interstitial *** signs of inflammation and fibrosis of seminiferous tubular walls were also *** contrast,sections of contralateral testis of rats injected with KF and killed 30 days after surgery showed normal histological features.A significant decrease in the number of mC was observed in rats treated with KF compared to untreated *** conclusion,we demonstrated that treatment with KF reduced testicular inflammatory process and mC infiltrates in both EAO and TCT *** results suggest a promising treatment for infertile male patients with testicular pathologies associated with inflammation and germ cell loss.

AIm: To optimize diagnosis and treatment guidelines for this geographic region, a panel of gastroenterologists, epidemiologists, and basic scientists carried out a structured evaluation of available ***: Relevant questions were distributed among the experts, who generated draft statements for consideration by the entire panel. A modified three-round Delphi technique method was used to reach consensus. Critical input was also obtained from representatives of the concerned medical community. The quality of the evidence and level of recommendation supporting each statement was graded according to United States Preventive Services Task Force ***: A group of ten experts was established. The survey included 15 open-ended questions that were distributed among the experts, who assessed the articles associated with each question. The levels of agreement achieved by the panel were 50% in the first round, 73.3% in the second round and 100% in the third round. main consensus recommendations included:(1) when available, urea breath and stool antigen test(HpSA) should be used for non-invasive diagnosis;(2) detect and eradicate Helicobacter pylori(H. pylori) in all gastroscopy patients to decrease risk of peptic ulcer disease, prevent o retard progression in patients with preneoplastic lesions, and to prevent recurrence in patients treated for gastric cancer;(3) further investigate implementation issues and health outcomes of H. pylorieradication for primary prevention of gastric cancer in high-risk populations;(4) prescribe standard 14-d triple therapy or sequential therapy for first-line treatment;(5) routinely assess eradication success post-treatment in clinical settings; and(6) select second- and third-line therapies according to antibiotic susceptibility ***: These achievable steps toward better region-specific management can be expected to improve clinical health outcomes.

[背景]双酚A(BPA)是一种广泛使用的内分泌干扰化学物,与啮齿类动物体重增加和脂肪沉积有关联。[目的]在CHAmACOS纵向队列的9岁儿童组(n=311)中,研究产前和产后尿BPA浓度与体质指数(BmI)、腰围、体脂肪率和肥胖间的关联。[方法]采集母亲怀孕期间现场收集的两次尿样以及5岁和9岁儿童的尿样,测量BPA浓度。[结果]产前尿BPA浓度与9岁女孩BmI降低有关联,但在男孩中无此关联。在女孩中,位于产前BPA浓度最高的三分位数与BmI z分值降低(β=-0.47,95%CI:-0.87～-0.07)和体脂肪率降低(β=-4.36,95%CI:-8.37～-0.34)有关联;与位于最低三分位数组的女孩相比,超重/肥胖的风险下降[比值比(OR)=0.37,95%CI:0.16～0.91]。这些发现在青春期前期的女孩中最强。5岁时的尿BPA浓度与5岁或9岁时任何人体测量学参数没有相关性,在9岁时的BPA浓度与男孩和女孩9岁时的BmI、腰围、脂肪量、超重/肥胖呈正相关。[结论]本研究的发现与其他横断面研究相一致,9岁时尿BPA浓度较高与9岁时肥胖增加相关联。然而,母亲怀孕期间BPA浓度增加与他们的女儿9岁时BmI、体内脂肪和超重/肥胖降低有关联。

Objective: To assess the use of oral glucose tolerance testing (OGTT) to predi ct efficacy of insulin sensitization (metformin)-or suppression (octreotide) be cause insulin resistance and insulin hypersecretion may impact pharmacotherapeut ic efficacy in obese children. Study design: Forty-three and 24 obese children, with and without central nervous system (CNS) insult, underwent OGTT. Insulin s ensitivity was expressed as composite insulin sensitivity index (CISI), and secr etion as corrected insulin response (CIRgp). Those without CNS insult received metformin (weight-based dosing) for 6 to 16 months. Those with CNS insult receiv ed octreotide SQ 15 μg/kg/d for 6 months. Body mass index (BmI) and z-score responses were modeled using CIRgp and CISI. Results: metformin: With CIRgp and CI SI = 1, BmI z-score in white children declined by 0.23 over the first 4 months (P mI z-score reduction, but with wide uncertainty (P= .24 ). Black children exhibited little response. Octreotide: With CIRgp and CISI = 1 , BmI z-score decreased by 0.23 in the first 4 months (P= .052). Efficacy was d ependent on an interaction between CIRgp and CISI (P= .051). Conclusions: Effica cy of metformin was predicted by pretreatment insulin resistance. Efficacy of oc treotide was predicted by insulin hypersecretion and sensitivity.
