Investigation of material composition,design,and performance of open-graded asphalt mixtures for semi-flexible pavement:A comprehensive experimental study

The primary goal of this study is the design and construction of semi-flexible pavement(SFP)mixture in accordance with the engineering and mechanical *** study involves the use of a range of gradation curves,air void contents,cellulose and synthesized fibers,and neat and modified asphalt binders to prepare the open-graded asphalt(OGA)*** analyze the characteristics of these mixtures,a variety of test,namely binder drainage,semi-circular bending(SCB),Cantabro,wheel tracking,indirect tensile strength(ITS),and permeability tests were ***,to analyze the prepared grouting material,flexural strength,compressive strength,and fluidity tests were *** the final stage,SFP was compared to HmA in terms of engineering characteristics and *** to the results,SFP was more resistant to skid,rutting,fire,and moisture damage,while HmA had a better performance in fracture tests,including SCB *** to the results of the mechanical performance tests conducted on OGA mixtures,the highest and lowest values for air void content to achieve the highest mechanical performance level were 30%-35%and 25%,***,based on the laboratory results,it was determined that the required void ratio for constructing OGA mixtures was 24%-26%based on the bitumen type and fibers amount in the ***,SFP mixture can be regarded as a viable alternative to common pavements thanks to its high resistance to rutting and moisture damage,long freezing-thawing fatigue life,and adequate fire and skid resistance.

Effects of self-fields on electron trajectory and gain in planar wiggler free-electron lasers with two-stream and ion-channel guiding

The effects of self-fields on electron trajectories and gain in planar wiggler free-electron lasers with two-stream and ion-channel guiding are investigated. An analysis of the two-stream quasi-steady-state electron trajectories is given by solving the equation of motion in the presence of ion-channel guiding and the planar wiggler. The electron trajectories and the gain are derived. The stability of the trajectories, the characteristics of the linear gain, and the normalized maximum gain are studied numerically. The numerical calculations show that there are eight group trajectories rather than the two groups reported in the absence of the self-fields. It is also shown that the normalized gain group seven （G7） decreases while the rest increases with the increase in normalized ion-channel frequency. The two-stream instability and the self-field lead to a decrease in the maximum gain, except for G7.

A new technique for islanding operation of distribution network connected with mini hydro

An islanding operation of a distribution network is a topic of interest due to the significant penetration of distributed generation(DG) in a power system network. However, controlling the frequency of an islanded distribution system remains an unresolved issue, especially when the load exceeds the generation. This paper presents a new technique for a successful islanding operation of a distribution network connected with multiple mini hydro based DGs. The proposed technique is based on three main parts. The first part uses an islanding detection technique to detect the islanding event correctly. The second part consists of a power imbalance estimation module(PIEm), which determines the power imbalance between the generation and load demand. The third part consists of a load shedding controller, which receives the power imbalance value and performs load shedding according to load priority. The proposed technique is validated on an 11 k V existing malaysia distribution network. The simulation results show that the proposed technique is effective in performing a successful islanding operation by shedding a significant number of loads.

Crystallization kinetics of Sn_(40)Se_(60) thin films for phase change memory applications

The crystallization kinetics of Sn4oSe6o thin films has been successfully investigated using sheet resis- tance versus temperature measurements. Thermal evaporation was used to deposit the films on ordinary glass sub- strates. The crystallization temperature for Sn4oSe60 thin film was found to be 156.6 -t- 0.3 ~C. In the as-deposited state, the sheet resistance was found to be 195 mf2/[2, this value declined to 1560 f2/[2] upon annealing. The value of activation energy obtained from the Kissinger plot was 0.62 ＋ 0.07 eV. From the results obtained, SnaoSe60 is a promising alloy for PCm application because of its high electrical contrast, high crystallization temperature, and relatively high activation energy.

Open-sided draft tubes provide an optimal gas distribution through a cross flow pattern between the spout and the annulus in conical spouted *** design,optimization,control,and scale-up of the spouted beds require precise information on operating and peak pressure *** this study,a multi-layer perceptron(mLP)neural network was employed for accurate prediction of these hydrodynamic characteristics.A relatively huge number of experiments were accomplished and the most influential dimensionless groups were extracted using the Buckingham-pi ***,the dimensionless groups were used for developing the mLP model for simultaneous estimation of operating and peak pressure *** iterative constructive technique confirmed that 4-14-2 is the best structure for the mLP model in terms of absolute average relative deviation(AARD%),mean square error(mSE),and regression coefficient(R^(2)).The developed mLP approach has an excellent capacity to predict the transformed operating(mSE=0.00039,AARD%=1.30,and R^(2)=0.76099)and peak(mSE=0.22933,AARD%=11.88,and R2=0.89867)pressure drops.

卤氧化铋(BiOX,X=Cl、Br或I)因其独特的结构特性,如二维层状结构和大量暴露的表面原子,而受到广泛关注。这些特性使它们成高效的光催化剂,并被广泛应用于水处理、有机合成等领域。然而,它们在其他催化中的潜力,如作为金属铋的前体或作为单原子催化剂的载体,还处于起步阶段。在本论文中,我们研究了卤素离子和形貌对以卤氧化铋为前驱体合成的金属铋电催化剂的结构的影响,及其在氮还原反应(NRR)中的性能,并以氯氧化铋为载体制备了 Pt单原子催化剂,探究了其在苯乙炔反马仕加成硅氢化反应中的催化性能。本论文取得的主要研究成果如下:在第一个工作中,我们发展了一种电还原卤氧化铋制备的金属铋纳米片(BNSs)的合成方法,并将其应用于电催化氮还原反应(NRR)。BNSs可分别由具有不同卤素离子的卤氧化铋纳米片前体以及溴氧化铋纳米棒制备的。X射线衍射(XRD)表征结果显示成功形成了铋纳米片,而电子显微镜表明,以溴氧化铋纳米棒为前驱体制备的BNS1尺寸在70-120纳米之间,以溴氧化铋纳米片为前驱体制备的BNS2尺寸在150-200 nm之间。值得注意的是,在环境温度下,在0.1m Na2SO4水溶液中,在-0.6 VvsRHE时,BNS2的氨产率和法拉第效率分别为3.99 μ gNH3 mgBi-1 h-1和7.04%,而 BNS1 则分别为 2.52 μ gNH3 mgBi-1 h-1 和 4.93%。在第二个工作中,我们采用光沉积策略制备了沉积在氯氧化铋纳米片上的铂单原子催化剂(PtxBOC SAC,该催化剂在苯乙炔的反马氏硅氢化加成反应中表现出优异的催化性能。我们首先合成了氯化氧铋纳米片,然后通过光沉积方法沉积了铂单原子。透射电子显微镜、X射线衍射、X射线光电子能谱、能量色散X射线光谱和CO吸收红外光谱结果表明,铂以单原子的形式均匀分布在氯氧化铋纳米片上。电感耦合等离子体质谱结果表明,铂单原子催化剂的铂负载量在0.5 wt%-4.0 wt%范围内。其中,Pt1BOC在苯乙炔的反马氏氢化硅烷化反应中表现出最高的催化性能,转化频率为156 min-1。该值远高于铂纳米颗粒对比样,也高于文献报道的值。此外,该催化剂表现出优异的稳定性,在5个循环后催化性能没有明显衰减。

Deformed photon-added entangled squeezed vacuum and one-photon states: Entanglement, polarization, and nonclassical properties

In this paper, after a brief review on the entangled squeezed states, we produce a new class of the continuous-variable- type entangled states, namely, deformed photon-added entangled squeezed states. These states are obtained via the iterated action of the f-deformed creation operator A = f（n）a＋ on the entangled squeezed states. In the continuation, by studying the criteria such as the degree of entanglement, quantum polarization as well as sub-Poissonian photon statistics, the two- mode correlation function, one-mode and two-mode squeezing, we investigate the nonclassical behaviors of the introduced states in detail by choosing a particular f-deformation function. It is revealed that the above-mentioned physical properties can be affected and so may be tuned by justifying the excitation number, after choosing a nonlinearity function. Finally, to generate the introduced states, we propose a theoretical scheme using the nonlinear Jaynes-Cummings model.

Compensation of stress intensity factors in hollow cylinders containing several cracks under torsion by electro-elastic coating

In this article, a formulation for a hollow cylinder reinforced with an electroelastic layer is investigated. The hollow cylinder and its electro-elastic coating are under the Saint-Venant torsional loading. First, the solution to the problem containing a Volterra-type screw dislocation is obtained by using the Fourier transform. The problem is then reduced to a set of Cauchy singular integral equations by the distributed dislocation method. Finally, several examples are presented to show the effect of the electro-elastic coating on the reduction of the stress intensity factors at the crack tips.

Production of the Superposition of Nonlinear Coherent States and Entangled Nonlinear Coherent States

In this paper, by using the parity operator as well as the nonlinear displacement-type operator, we define new operators which by the action of them on the vacuum state of the radiation field, superposition of two nonlinear coherent states and two-mode entangled nonlinear coherent states are generated. Also, we show that via the generalization of the presented method, the superposition of more than two nonlinear coherent states and n-mode entangled nonlinear coherent states can be generated.

Nanoparticles(NPs)can promote the column flotation process in mining ***'effects on column flotation process(copper recovery,grade and flotation rate constant)are assessed in Sarcheshmeh Copper Complex,Iran,through response surface methodology(RSm)optimization *** c-Al2O3,a-Fe2O3,SiO2,and TiO2 nanoparticles are selected for these experiments.A flotation rate constant is chosen as a response to assess the effect of nanoparticles on flotation in its kinetic *** process p H and nanoparticle dosage are selected as the influential *** obtained from RSm indicated that the maximum percentage of Cu recovery and grade is obtained at p H of 12 and nanoparticle dosage of 6 kg/t,through a-Fe2O3 and c-Al2O3 nanoparticles,*** nanoparticles in particular c-Al2O3 and a-Fe2O3 increases the Cu recovery by 8–10%together with the grade by 3–6%in a significant *** is revealed that nanoparticles could effectively be applied in enhancing the flotation performance.
