Atom microscopy via Dual Resonant Superposition

An m-type Rb^(87) atomic system is proposed for one-dimensional atom microscopy under the condition of Electromagnetically Induced ***-localization of the atom in the absorption spectrum while its delocalization in the dispersion spectrum is observed due to the dual superposition effect of the resonant *** observed minimum uncertainty peaks will find important applications in Laser cooling,creating focused atom beams,atom nanolithography,and in measurement of the center-of-mass wave function of moving atoms.

Spectral Hole Burning via Kerr Nonlinearity

Spectral hole burning is investigated in an optical medium in the presence of Doppler broadening and Kerr nonlinearity. The Kerr nonlinearity generates coherent hole burning in the absorption spectrum. The higher order Kerr nonlinearity enhances the typical lamb dip of the hole. Normal dispersion in the hole burning region while Steep anomalous dispersion between the two hole burning regions also enhances with higher order Kerr effect. A large phase shift creates large delay or advancement in the pulse propagation while no distortion is observed in the pulse. These results provide significant steps to improve optical memory, telecom devices, preservation of information and image quality.

In this paper,we propose Triangular Code(TC),a new class of fountain code with near-zero redundancy and linear encoding and decoding computational complexities of OeLklog kT,where k is the packet batch size and L is the packet data *** from previous works where the optimal performance of codes has been shown under asymptotic assumption,TC enjoys near-zero redundancy even under non-asymptotic settings for smallmoderate number of *** features make TC suitable for practical implementation in batteryconstrained devices in IoT,D2D and m2m network paradigms to achieve scalable reliability,and minimize latency due to its low decoding *** is a non-linear code,which is encoded using the simple shift and XOR addition operations,and decoded using the simple back-substitution *** it is nonlinear code at the packet level,it remains linear code when atomized at the bit *** use this property to show that the backsubstitution decoder of TC is equivalent to the Belief Propagation(BP)decoder of LT ***,TC can benefit from rich prolific literature published on LT code,to design efficient code for various *** the equivalency between the decoders of TC and LT code,we show that compared to state-of-the-art optimized LT code,TC reduces the redundancy of LT code by 68%-99% for k reaching 1024.

Novel PCR primers to diagnose visceral Leishmaniasis using peripheral blood, spleen or bone marrow aspirates

Objective: To establish a suitable method of diagnosis of visceral Leishmania sis(VL) using peripheral blood, spleen or bone marrow aspirates. methods: Peripheral blood, bone marrow and spleen aspirate samples were collected from clinically suspected VL patients(n=26). A new PCR primer pair(mK1F/R) was designed targeting kinetoplast mini circle DNA sequences of Leishmania donovani, and Leishmania infantum, and was used to diagnose VL along with some other established primers for VL in polymerase chain reactions. Test was validated by comparing with several other diagnostic methods. Results: The designed primer set showed 100% specificity and 98% sensitivity in detecting VL using blood samples, when compared with more invasive samples: bone marrow or spleen aspirates. Conclusions: The newly designed primer mK1F/R could be a better alternative for PCR based diagnosis of VL using less invasive sample, peripheral blood instead of bone marrow or spleen aspirates.

Effect of Tillage and Nitrogen on Wheat Production, Economics, and Soil Fertility in Rice-Wheat Cropping System

Conservation tillage and nitrogen may improve soil fertility, yield and income on sustainable basis. The aim of this study was to evaluate the impact of three tillage systems viz. zero (ZT), reduced (RT), and conventional tillage (CT) and five N rates (0, 80, 120, 160, and 200 kg·N·ha-1) on yield and yield components, soil organic matter (SOm), total soil N (TSN), and income of wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) grown after rice (Oryza sativa L.). Nitrogen rates significantly affected yield and yield attributing characters with highest values recorded at200 kg·N·ha-1. mean maximum grain yield (6390 -6845 kg·ha-1), net benefit (1359 - 1460 US$ ha-1), and benefit cost ratio (5.6 - 5.7) could be achieved at 160 to200 kg·N·ha-1. The tillage systems produced similar yield and yield components except spikes m-2. The SOm and TSN were highest in ZT compared to other tillage systems. Though tillage × N interactions were not significant for most of the parameters under study, the overall effect of ZT with200 kg·N·ha-1 appeared to be most favorable compared to RT and CT. Zero tillage resulted in highest number of spikes m-2 (304.4), SOm (9.6 g·kg-1) and TSN (0.5 g·kg-1) with200 kg·N·ha-1. The results suggest that ZT with200 kg·N·ha-1 was optimum and sustainable strategy to achieve higher yield and income and also to improve SOm and TSN on silty clay soil.
