In the slightly deformed Al-mg-Si alloys,dislocation-induced precipitates are frequently observed,and they usually line up,forming sophisticated precipitation *** atomic-resolution electron microscopy in association with hardness measurements,we systematically investigated these precipitates in relation to the age-hardening responses of the *** study reveals that the majority of dislocation-induced complex precipitates are actually short-range ordered while long-range disordered polycrystalline precipitates and multiphase composite precipitates,including polycrystalline U2 precipitates,B’/U2,B’-2/U2,B’/B’-2/U2 and’/U2 composite *** is suggested that the formation of these complex precipitates is mainly owing to a high nucleation rate and rapid growth of different precipitate phases parallel to the associated dislocation *** dislocation-induced precipitates consume more mg than Si from the matrix and have a high formation kinetics,they will have different impacts on the matrix precipitation in different types of Al-mg-Si *** results further demonstrate that for the"normally-β"-hardened"alloy,their formation leads to a coarser precipitate microstructure in the matrix,whereas for the"normally-β’-hardened"alloy,their formation reverses the precipitation pathway in the matrix,resulting in a reduced age-hardening potential of the former alloy and an improved age-hardening potential of the latter alloy.

Introduction:Alzheimer 's disease(AD) is a common neurodegenerative disorder and the primary cause of dementia. Considerable evidence supports the “amyloid hypothesis,” stating that the pathogenesis of AD is primarily caused by the deposition of amyloid-β(Aβ), which drives tau phosphorylation, neuroinflammation, and neurodegeneration in the brain. The amyloid hypothesis is strengthened by the significant and moderate benefit of lecanemab, a humanized antibody through an anti-amyloid mechanism,showing slowed clinical decline(van Dyck et al.,2023). The recent positive results of anti-amyloid trials have brought back focus on the amyloid hypothesis through biochemical, genetic, and pharmacological approaches(Zhang, 2023).

BACKGROUND Although breast milk is ideal for newborns,in some cases,it is replaced with cow’s milk,which contains proteins that increase the risk of cow’s milk protein allergy(CmPA).AIm To evaluate CmPA prevalence in Bahrain and compare clinical characteristics of children with immunoglobulin E(IgE)-and non-IgE-mediated *** This retrospective cohort study examined children with CmPA diagnosed at the pediatric gastroenterology outpatient clinic of the Salmaniya medical Complex,Bahrain,between 2014 and 2022,and assessed CmPA *** presentations,laboratory findings,dietary modifications,and outcomes were compared between children with IgE-mediated and non-IgE-mediated *** variables were compared using Fisher’s exact test or Pearson’sχ2 test,whereas continuous variables were compared using Student’s t-test or the mann-Whitney U *** Of 8332 patients,6022(72.3%)adhered to their *** them,618(10.3%)were suggested of having CmPA and 595(96.3%)were included;CmPA prevalence was 2%.most patients were Bahraini(93.8%)and males(55.3%).Non-IgE-mediated type accounted for 77.3%cases and IgE-mediated type,22.7%.IgE-mediated CmPA presented more in boys(P=0.030),and later in life(5.1 months±4.5 months vs 4.2 months±4.2 months,P=0.016,95%CI:0.08-1.73),had more associated diseases(Pmore cutaneous(P=0.024)and respiratory(P=0.003)manifestations,severe symptoms[rash/dry skin(P=0.031),facial swelling/angioedema(P=0.003),failure to thrive(P=0.013),apparent life-threatening event(Pmediated *** patients were exclusively fed cow milk formula(50.3%).The amino acid-based formula(AAF)was most prescribed(60.5%)with no difference between the two types(P=0.173).Although breastfeeding was recommended to 49.6%,only 8.2%were exclusively ***-mediated CmPA was associated with a longer follow-up duration than non-IgE-mediated CmPA(17.3 months±14.0 mo

Cyclic deformation and fatigue behaviors of mg-12%Gd-3%Y-0.5%Zr （wt%, GW123K） alloy were investigated at room temperature under axial cyclic loading in strain controlled condition. It is shown that conventional extruded GW123K alloy maintained cyclic stability at strain amplitudes ranging from 2 × 10^-3 to 10^-2. The pronounced symmetric hysteresis loops were also observed during cyclic loading. Fracture surface observations indicated that fatigue cracks mainly initiated at large Gd-riched phase or at inclusion clusters at surface or subsurface, and grain boundary （GB） and slip bands （SBs） are also preferential sites for micro-crack incubation.

In this study,a novel eutectic-reaction brazing of Al_(0.3)CoCrFeNi high-entropy alloys(HEAs)^(1)was investigated with a design of laminated Ni/Nb/Ni *** typical Al_(0.3)CoCrFeNi brazing seam consisted of proeutecticγ,the lamellar eutectic structure composed of face-centered cubic(FCC)phase(eutecticγ)and C14 Laves,as well as a few amounts of Nb based solid solution.A high density of nanoscale ordered L1_(2)(γ)phase was precipitated withinγphase *** the brazing temperature raised from 1200 to 1320℃,the dissolution volume of Al_(0.3)CoCrFeNi alloy into Ni-Nb liquid was *** microstructure of the brazing seam changed from hypereutectic(blocky Laves+γphase)to eutectic(Laves+eutecticγ)to hypoeutectic structures(proeutecticγ+Laves/γeutectic structure).The shear strength of joints was increased gradually due to the formation of eutectic lamellae and the cellular growth of proeutecticγ*** maximum shear strength of the joint brazed at 1320℃for 10 min was up to 592 mPa,reaching 95%of the base *** joint mainly ruptured in the soft proeutecticγphase in a ductile fracture mode.

In this paper, we are concerned with the coupling of finite element methods and bound- ary integral equation methods solving the classical fluid-solid interaction problem in two dimensions. The original transmission problem is reduced to an equivalent nonlocal bound- ary value problem via introducing a Dirichlet-to-Neumann mapping by the direct boundary integral equation method. We show the existence and uniqueness of the solution for the corresponding variational equation. Numerical results based on the finite element method coupled with the standard Galerkin boundary element method, the fast multipole method and the NystrSm method for approximating the DtN mapping are provided to illustrate the efficiency and accuracy of the numerical schemes.
