Enabling the use of rationally designed thin films in technological devices is a recognized goal in materials science. However, constructing such thin films using highly ordered supramolecular architectures with well-controlled size and growth direction has remained an elusive target. Here, we introduce a layer-by- layer protocol to grow hybrid thin films of molecule-based magnetic conductors comprising arachidic acid and donor bis（ethylenedioxy）tetrathiafulvalene （BEDO-TTF） as the organic component and Cu/Gd complexes as the inorganic component. The construction of layered hybrid thin films was achieved at ambient conditions by employing the Langmuir-Blodgett method, which provides good control over film thickness and packing of molecules in the monolayer. As demonstrated by X-ray diffraction, these films are crystalline with distinct organic and inorganic sublattices, where the BEDO-TTF molecular layer is interfaced with the inorganic layer. Due to the flexibility of the Langmuir-Blodgett deposition technique, this result indicates a route toward the preparation of well-ordered films with various functionalities, determined by the choice of the inorganic compound that is combined with the π-unit of BEDO-TFF. moreover, the ability to deposit films on a variety of substrates establishes the potential for lower-cost device fabrication on inexpensive substrates.

Objective:To investigate the pharmacological potential of Argemone mexicana in treating constipation and emesis by using in vitro and in vivo ***:The spasmogenic and spasmolytic effects were evaluated on isolated rabbit jejunum fragments loaded in a tissue organ *** response was recorded with an isotonic transducer attached with Power Lab Data Acquisition *** laxative and antiemetic activities were assessed in BALB-c mice and poultry chicks challenged with carbamylcholine and copper sulphate stimulated emesis,***:The total phenolic and total flavonoids contents of the extract were(267.75±5.77)mg GAE/g and(73.86±6.01)mg QE/g,*** mexicana extract exerted spasmogenic effect on isolated rabbit jejunum segments with an EC_(50)value of 0.016 mg/m L,which was blocked by atropine(0.3μm).Argemone mexicana extract exerted spasmolytic effect in atropine treated jejunum fragments with an EC_(50)value of 2.185 mg/***,Argemone mexicana extract relaxed potassium(80 mm)-induced contractions(EC_(50):9.07 mg/mL),similar to a standard drug *** calcium channel blocker activity was confirmed by a rightward shift of concentration-response curve of calcium in the presence of Argemone mexicana extract(1-5 mg/mL)and verapamil(0.1-1μm).In addition,the extract increased the distance travelled by a charcoal in the gastrointestinal tract and exhibited antiemetic effect on copper sulphate induced emesis in ***:Argemone mexicana shows cholinergic agonist and calcium channel blocker activities,as well as antiemetic *** may be used as a potential agent for treating gastrointestinal disorders.

Disaster scenarios are constructed by integrating natural hazard phenomena and social science sources of *** profiled 51 natural hazard events of nineteenth century Kashmir that provide insights into the impacts of varying degree of severity that spread through the socioeconomic and political systems,influenced adaptation,and increased the consequences of the resulting *** root cause of these disasters was embedded in the social,natural,and political economic systems of their time,where vulnerabilities overlapped and interacted periodically with successive colonial regimes and acted as tipping *** combined effect of successive colonial regimes,inept administration,rigid political economy,and natural hazards made the situation go from bad to worse and reduced Kashmir to the depths of distress and *** the arc of the nineteenth century,a series of disasters led the Kashmiri population to learn how to live with disasters and minimize risk,bringing about the evolution of social and environmental *** the natural hazard vulnerability of the Kashmir Valley through archival narratives can help in scenario building to translate findings into formats that reduce related risk now as it did *** resulting information can be useful for regional design,planning,and policy responses to promote disaster risk reduction.

Synthesis of yttrium and cerium doped ZnO nanoparticles as highly inexpensive and stable photocatalysts for hydrogen evolution

Yttrium and cerium co-doped ZnO nanoparticles were synthesized by combustion route and characterized using X-ray diffraction(XRD),scanning electron microscopy(SEm),Brunauer-Emmett-Teller(BET),energy dispersive spectroscopy(EDS),X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS),UV-visible diffuse reflectance spectroscopy(UV-vis DRS),photoluminescence(PL)and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy(EIS)*** introduction of yttrium ions has efficiently increased the relative percentage of Ce^(3+)ions in *** and cerium co-doped ZnO shows efficient photo activity for hydrogen evolution(10.61 mmol/((g·h))higher than previously reported optimal value for rare earth codoped ZnO *** remarkably increased hydrogen evolution can be ascribed to the synergy between electronic anchoring effect of Y^(3+)/Y^(2+)and Ce^(4+)/Ce^(3+)redox *** report presents new idea for the synthesis of efficient photocatalyst using economical route and ion anchoring *** hydrogen evolution was also tested using Na_(2)S and Na_(2)SO_(3)as electron donors under visible light *** synthesized photocatalysts also exhibit high stability.

In an era of climate change,the availability of empirical data on alpine summit vegetation in the Himalaya is still *** we report the assessment of alpine summit flora in Gulmarg Wildlife Sanctuary,Kashmir *** employed a globally standardized multi-Summit Approach and four spatially isolated summits spanning an elevation gradient of 210 m(between 3530-3740 m a.s.l.)from natural treeline to nival zone were *** of the summits was carried out in the year 2018 to collect floristic data together with records of soil temperature.A total of 142 vascular plant species were recorded in the sampled *** of the species were of herbaceous growth form and with perennial life *** on Raunkiaer’s life form,hemicryptophytes were the most dominant followed by therophytes and *** summit flora showed the predominance of narrow-endemic species,with broad-and non-endemics declining with elevation.A significant relationship between growth form,Raunkiaer’s life form,and the degree of endemism with elevation was *** species diversity and soil temperature showed a monotonic decrease with increasing ***,soil temperature clearly determined the magnitude of species diversity on the ***,based on floristic composition,the lowest summit had the highest dissimilarity with the rest of the *** present study employed globally standardized protocol to scientifically assess the patterns of plant diversity on the alpine mountain summits of Kashmir Himalaya,which in turn has wide implications towards long-term monitoring of climate change impact on alpine biodiversity in the rapidly warming Himalaya.

Nanodiamond films deposited at moderate temperature on pure titanium substrate pretreated by ultrasonic scratching in diamond powder suspension

Nanocrystalline diamond （NCD） film deposition on pure titanium and Ti alloys is extraordinarily difficult because of the high diffusion coefficient of carbon in Ti, the large mismatch in their thermal expansion coefficients, the complex nature of the interlayer formed during diamond deposition, and the difficulty to achieve very high nucleation density. In this investigation, NCD films were successfully deposited on pure Ti substrate by using a novel substrate pretreatment of ultrasonic scratching in a diamond powder-ethanol suspension and by a two-step process at moderate temperature. It was shown that by scratching with a 30-μm diamond suspension for 1 h, followed by a 10-h diamond deposition, a continuous NCD film was obtained with an average grain size of about 200 nm. Detailed experimental results on the preparation, characterization, and successful deposition of the NCD films on Ti were discussed.

microspheres of Ni_(0.5)Co_(0.5)Ga_(x)Fe_(2-x)O_(4)(x≤1.0)microsphere spinel ferrites(NiCoGaFe-mSFs)and carbon spheres were prepared via a hydrothermal *** micro structure of microspheres was investigated through scanning and transmission electron microscopy(SEm and TEm),respectively,and X-ray diffraction(XRD).The electrical and dielectric properties of NiCoGaFe-mSF at temperatures ranging from20 to 120℃(between 293,1×10^(3)and 393.1×10^(3))for f≤3.0 mHz were systematically studied as a result of 3D graphical drawing of the data obtained from an impedance *** parameters such as ac/dc conductivity,dielectric loss,dielectric constant,activation energy,dissipation factor and Cole-Cole impedance spectra were extensively evaluated for various Ga ion mole ratios in the substitution where x≤*** notice that the ac conductivity mostly obeys exponential power law rules,which vary significantly with the substitution ratios of Ga *** analyses confirm that differences in conduction mechanisms in NiCoGaFe-mSFs are mainly due to grain-to-grain boundaries related to Ga ion substitution *** change in dielectric constant of NiCoGaFe-mSFs is strongly dependent on the substitution rates and results in a normal dielectric distribution with *** tangential loss for all micro spheres is observed to vary with measured temperatures and their frequency dependencies can be attributed to the conduction mechanism similar to Koop’s phenomenological *** is clearly seen that the formation of semicircles is dominated by all the NiCoGaFe-mSFs and the diameter of the semicircles mostly decreases with increasing temperature,as evidence of a temperaturedependent relaxation mechanism.
