metal-organic frameworks(mOFs)are attracting increasing interests as photocatalysts for solar-driven hydrogen production from *** paper reports on a comparative study of using either acetic acid(AA)or trifluoroacetic acid(TFA)as the representative UiO-66 organic modulators for synthesizing visible light responsive UiO-66(Zr)-X(X:NH_(2) or NO_(2))photocatalysts for water *** results show that photocatalytic hydrogen generation from a water/methanol mixture can be improved by varying the nature and amount of the modulator employed to prepare the different UiO-66(Zr)-X(X:NH_(2) or NO_(2))solid ***-66(Zr)-NH_(2) was the most active photocatalyst,followed by UiO-66(Zr)-NO_(2),both prepared with 12 equivalents of AA with respect to the organic *** UiO-66(Zr)-NH_(2) solid was more active than the parent mOF in photocatalytic overall water splitting(OWS)(H_(2) and O_(2) production of 450 and 160μmol·g^(-1),respectively,in 5 h;apparent quantum yield(AQY)at 400 nm of 0.06%)in the absence of methanol and compares favourably with analogous *** on the photocatalytic activity of the most active solids of both series was obtained by means of a series of techniques,including ultraviolet-visible(UV-vis)diffuse reflectance,X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS),laser flash photolysis(LFP),electron spin resonance(ESR),photoluminescence and photoelectrochemical measurements together with density functional theory(DFT)*** results showed that organic acid modulators can be used to enhance the photocatalytic activity of missing linker UiO-66 defective materials in solar-powered water splitting.

Several studies on functionally graded materials(FGms)have been done by researchers,but few studies have dealt with the impact of the modification of the properties of materials with regard to the functional propagation of the waves in *** work aims to explore the effects of changing compositional characteristics and the volume fraction of the constituent of plate materials regarding the wave propagation response of thick plates of *** model is based on a higher-order theory and a new displacement field with four unknowns that introduce indeterminate integral variables with a hyperbolic arcsine *** FGm plate is assumed to consist of a mixture of metal and ceramic,and its properties change depending on the power functions of the thickness of the plate,such as linear,quadratic,cubic,and inverse *** utilizing Hamilton’s principle,general formulae of the wave propagation were obtained to establish wave modes and phase velocity curves of the wave propagation in a functionally graded plate,including the effects of changing compositional characteristics of materials.

Depression is the most prevalent mental disorder in pregnancy, and yet it is lessstudied than postpartum depression despite the consequences it may have onboth the pregnant woman and her offspring. Therefore, it would be important toknow which risk factors may favour the appearance of antenatal depression inorder to carry out appropriate prevention interventions. The aim of the presentreview was to identify the main risk factors of antenatal depression. We searchedin databases Pubmed and PsycINFO for articles published about the factorsassociated with antenatal depression from January 2010 through December *** literature review identified three main groups of antenatal depression riskfactors: sociodemographic, obstetric, and psychological. First, among thesociodemographic variables, the low level of studies and the economic incomeclearly stood out from the rest. Then, not having planned the pregnancy was themain obstetric variable, and finally, the main psychological risk factors werehaving a history of psychological disorders and/or depression as well aspresenting anxiety, stress, and/or low social support during pregnancy. Thisreview shows that the antenatal depression is affected by multiple factors. mostcan be identified at the beginning of the pregnancy, and some are risk factorspotentially modifiable through appropriate interventions, such as psychologicalfactors. For this reason, it is important to carry out a good screening for depressionduring pregnancy and consequently, be able to prevent its appearance ortreat it if necessary.

YIKI is an antimalarial phytomedicine used by a traditional healer to treat malaria in Bobo-Dioulasso. However, there is no scientific evidence to support its use by local populations. The aim of this study was to identify the medicinal practices of the healer holder of YIKI and assess the clinical evidence of its phytomedicine in the uncomplicated malaria treatment. Ethnomedical survey based on a semi-structured and open questionnaire was conducted from October to December 2019 with the healer. malaria knowledge and diagnosis methods, patient treatment and monitoring, and recipe formulation steps were surveyed. moreover, thick and thin blood smears were taken, haemoglobin levels and temperature of consenting patients were measured before treatment, mid-treatment and at the end of treatment. The survey revealed that the healer has a good knowledge of malaria symptoms and his diagnosis is based on observation and physical examination of patients. The healer’s malaria diagnosis was rudimentary and had accuracy problems, with only 62.79% of malaria cases confirmed by microscopy. The formulation of YIKI and its use to treat malaria follow a standard process for plant harvesting, powder quantities and posology, but do not use any reproducible parameters for dose adjustment. Forty-three patients diagnosed and treated by the healer participated in the study. Laboratory results revealed 27 Plasmodium falciparum infection cases, including 2 with parasitaemia ≥ 200,000 p/µl blood. 25 patients were selected for therapeutic evidence assessment. There was a 48% elimination of parasites, a 28% parasitaemia decrease without complete cure, with gametocytogenesis in some patients, and a 24% parasitaemia increase. Haemoglobin and temperature results suggested that YIKI was not cytotoxic and reduced fever. Encouraging preliminary results have been obtained, but in view of the low number of patients, further YIKI efficacy and toxicity studies will be necessary for patient safety.

The sizes of both seed dispersers and seeds are traits that are likely to interact to influence seed fate in many synzoochoric plant ***,we examined whether members of a granivorous rodent community consisting of species of different body size vary in their effectiveness as seed dispersers,and how this relationship may be altered by seed *** marked northern red oak(Quercus rubra)acorns with plastic tags and placed them in size-selective rodent *** exclosures allowed differential access of rodent groups based on different body size:(i)small(*** spp.);(ii)small and medium(*** striatus);and(iii)small,medium and large(*** carolinensis)species of *** removal did not differ among exclosure types,but more seeds were missing when removed by small rodents,probably because of *** treatments did not influence the relative frequency of acorn ***,small rodents cached considerably fewer and partially ate more acorns than the other 2 *** mean dispersal distance was the longest for cages with medium openings,intermediate for cages with large openings and the shortest for cages with small *** mass positively affected the probability of caching and this relationship was unaffected by exclosure *** conclusion,granivorous rodents of different body sizes strongly differed in their interactions with acorns,with small rodents acting primarily as acorn predators and medium and large species contributing significantly more to dispersal of red oaks.

This paper aims to study the shear interaction mechanism of one of the critical geosynthetic interfaces,the geotextile/geomembrane, typically used for lined containment facilities such as landfills. A largedirect shear machine is used to carry out 90 geosynthetic interface tests. The test results show a strainsoftening behavior with a very small dilatancy （〈0.5 mm） and nonlinear failure envelopes at a normalstress range of 25e450 kPa. The influences of the micro-level structure of these geosynthetics on themacro-level interface shear behavior are discussed in detail. This study has generated several practicalrecommendations to help professionals to choose what materials are more adequate. From the threegeotextiles tested, the thermally bonded monofilament exhibits the best interface shear strength underhigh normal stress. For low normal stress, however, needle-punched monofilaments are *** the regular textured geomembranes tested, the space between the asperities is an important *** closer these asperities are, the better the result achieves. For the irregular textured geomembranestested, the nonwoven geotextiles made of monofilaments produce the largest interface shear strength.

The genus mentha encompasses mint species cultivated for their essential oils, which are formulated into a vast array of consumer products. Desirable oil characteristics and resistance to the fungal disease Verti- cillium wilt are top priorities for the mint industry. However, cultivated mints have complex polyploid ge- homes and are sterile. Breeding efforts, therefore, require the development of genomic resources for fertile mint species. Here, we present draft de novo genome and plastome assemblies for a wilt-resistant South African accession of mentha Iongifolia （L.） Huds., a diploid species ancestral to cultivated peppermint and spearmint. The 353 mb genome contains 35 597 predicted protein-coding genes, including 292 disease resistance gene homologs, and nine genes determining essential oil characteristics. A genetic linkage map ordered 1397 genome scaffolds on 12 pseudochromosomes. more than two million simple sequence repeats were identified, which will facilitate molecular marker development. The m. Iongifolia genome is a valuable resource for both metabolic engineering and molecular breeding. This is exemplified by employing the genome sequence to clone and functionally characterize the promoters in a peppermint cultivar, and demonstrating the utility of a glandular trichome-specific promoter to increase expression of a biosynthetic gene, thereby modulating essential oil composition.
