An effect of the high-power electromagnetic pulses onto the droplet of coal-water slurry inside the furnace was *** contrary to the previously investigated laser-induced fuel atomization that occurs at the room temperature,the pre-heated(to 400 K)slurry becomes dry enough to prevent the explosion-like steam ***,fuel does not atomize and the ignition does not ***,the absorption of several laser pulses leads to evident sintering of irradiated surface with following increase of the ignition delay time for up to 24%.Variation of the pulse energy in range 48-118 mJ(corresponding intensity up to 2.4 J·cm^-2)leads to certain variation of the increase of ignition *** strong pulsed overheating of the coal water slurry which does not initiate the fine atomization of the fuel generally makes its ignition longer.

A solvable model of lateral line of a fish based on a wave equation with additional boundary conditions on a set of isolated points is *** the framework of this model it is shown that the ratio of pressures on lateral lines on different fish flanks,as well as the cross section of sound scattering on both the lines,strongly depends on angles of incidence of incoming sound *** strong angular dependence of the pressure ratio seems to be sufficient for the fish to determine the directions from which the sound is coming.

Particle melting and substrate temperature are important in controlling deposited density and residual stress in thermal plasma deposition of refractory materials. in this paper, both the heating and cooling behaviours of tungsten particles inside a radio frequency inductively coupled plasma （iCP） and the plasma heat flux to the substrate were investigated. The distribution of the plasma-generated heat on device, powder injection probe, deposition chamber, and substrate was determined by measuring the water flow rate and the flow-in and flow-out water temperatures in the four parts. Substrate temperature was measured by a two-colour pyrometer during the iCP deposition of tungsten. Experimental results show that the heat flux to the substrate accounts for about 20% of the total plasma energy, the substrate temperature can reach as high as 2100 K, and the heat loss by radiation is significant in the plasma deposition of tungsten.

Electrical energy is essential for modern society to sustain economic *** soaring demand for the electrical energy,together with an awareness of the environmental impact of fossil fuels,has been driving a shift towards the utilization of solar ***,traditional solar energy solutions often require extensive spaces for a panel installation,limiting their practicality in a dense urban *** overcome the spatial constraint,researchers have developed transparent photovoltaics(TPV),enabling windows and facades in vehicles and buildings to generate electric *** TPV advancements are focused on improving both transparency and power output to rival commercially available silicon solar *** this review,we first briefly introduce wavelength-and non-wavelengthselective strategies to achieve *** of merit and theoretical limits of TPVs are discussed to comprehensively understand the status of current TPV *** we highlight recent progress in different types of TPVs,with a particular focus on solution-processed thin-film photovoltaics(PVs),including colloidal quantum dot PVs,metal halide perovskite PVs and organic *** applications of TPVs are also reviewed,with emphasis on agrivoltaics,smart windows and ***,current challenges and future opportunities in TPV research are pointed out.

We derive a formula that simplifies the original asymptotic iteration method formulation to find the energy eigenvalues for the analytically solvable cases. We then show that there is a connection between the asymptotic iteration and the Nikiforo-Uvarov methods, which both solve the second order linear ordinary differential equations analytically.

The peristaltic pumping of a viscous compressible liquid mixed with rigid spherical particles of the same size in a channel is theoretically investigated. The momentum equations for the compressible flow are solved with a perturbation analysis. The analysis is carried out by duly accounting for the nonlinear convective acceleration terms for the fluid part on the wavy wall. The zeroth-order terms yield the Poiseuille flow, and the first-order terms give the Orr-Sommerfeld equation. The explicit expression for the net axial velocity is derived. The effects of the embedded parameters on the axial fluid velocity are studied through different engineering applications. The features of the flow characteristics are analyzed and discussed in detail. The obtained results are evaluated for various parameters associated with the blood flow in the blood vessels with diameters less than 5 500 μm, whereas the particle diameter has been taken to be 8 μm. This study provides a scope to evaluate the effect of the theory of two-phase flow characteristics with compressible fluid problems, and is helpful for understanding the role of engineering applications of pumping solid-fluid mixture by peristaltically driven motion.

The present work aimed to synthesize a new interesting series of thiazole based polyamides containing diarylidenecyclohexanone moiety 5a-5f using low temperature solution polycondensation technique. The new polymers were synthesized by the reaction of thiazole based monomer namely, bis（2-aminothiazol-4-ylbenzylidene）cyclohexanone 3 with different aliphatic and aromatic diacid chlorides using NmP, and in the presence of anhydrous Li Cl as catalyst. Adipoyl, sebacoyl, oxaloyl, terephthaloyl, isophthaloyl dichlorides and biphenyl dicarbonyl dichloride were used as diacid chlorides. The structure of the model compound 4 as well as the new polymers was confirmed by correct elemental and spectral analyses. The thermal properties of those polymers were evaluated by TGA and DTG measurements and correlated to their structural units, beside X-ray diffraction analysis, solubility and viscometry measurements. The inherent viscosities for the synthesized polymers were in the range 0.6–1.03 d L/g. On the other hand the corrosion inhibitive properties of monomer 3 as well as polyamides 5d and 5f as selected examples were carried out on carbon-steel in 0.5 mol/L H2SO4 at 40 °C. The calculated inhibition efficiency（iE%） for polymer 5d was in the range（82 ± 6）% in all selected concentrations. The best value of iE% was obtained at 1 mg/L to reach 98.24% for polymer 5d and at 0.5 mg/L to reach 87.75% for polymer 5f.
