This paper deals with the problem of recreating horizontal alignments of existing railway *** main objective is to propose a simple method for automatically obtaining optimized recreated alignments located as close as possible to an existing *** on a previously defined geometric model,two different constrained optimization problems are *** first problem uses only the information provided by a set of points representing the track centerline while the second one also considers additional data about the existing *** proposed methodology consists of a two-stage process in which both problems are solved consecutively using numerical *** main results obtained applying this methodology are presented to show its performance and to prove its practical usefulness:an academic example used to compare with other methods,and a case study of a railway section located in Parga(Spain)in which the geometry of its horizontal alignment is successfully recovered.

The rapid growth of machine learning(mL)across fields has intensified the challenge of selecting the right algorithm for specific tasks,known as the Algorithm Selection Problem(ASP).Traditional trial-and-error methods have become impractical due to their resource *** machine Learning(AutomL)systems automate this process,but often neglect the group structures and sparsity in meta-features,leading to inefficiencies in algorithm recommendations for classification *** paper proposes a meta-learning approach using multivariate Sparse Group Lasso(mSGL)to address these *** method models both within-group and across-group sparsity among meta-features to manage high-dimensional data and reduce multicollinearity across eight meta-feature *** Fast iterative Shrinkage-Thresholding Algorithm(FiSTA)with adaptive restart efficiently solves the non-smooth optimization *** validation on 145 classification datasets with 17 classification algorithms shows that our meta-learning method outperforms four state-of-the-art approaches,achieving 77.18%classification accuracy,86.07%recommendation accuracy and 88.83%normalized discounted cumulative gain.

The peristaltic flow of a non-Newtonian nanofluid with swimming oxytactic microorganisms through a space between two infinite coaxial conduits is investigated. A variable magnetic field is applied on the flow. The bioconvection flow and heat transfer in the porous annulus are formulated, and appropriate transformations are used, leading to the non-dimensionalized ruling partial differential equation model. The model is then solved by using the homotopy perturbation scheme. The effects of the germane parameters on the velocity profile, temperature distribution, concentration distribution, motile microorganism profile, oxytactic profile, pressure rise, and outer and inner tube friction forces for the blood clot and endoscopic effects are analyzed and presented *** is noticed that the pressure rise and friction forces attain smaller values for the endoscopic model than for the blood clot model. The present analysis is believed to aid applications constituting hemodynamic structures playing indispensable roles inside the human body since some blood clotting disorders, e.g., haemophilia, occur when some blood constituents on the artery wall get confined away from the wall joining the circulation system.

On January 7,2025,01:05:15 UTC （9:05 *** time） southern Tibet was rocked by a mw7.1 earthquake （mw=moment magnitude,USGS） centered（28.639°N 87.361°E） in the Lhasa Block north of the india/Eurasia Plate boundary,in a remote area about 180km SW of Xigaze,in Dingri County of Shigatse of the Xizang Autonomous Region （Figure 1）.The China Earthquake Networks Center measured the magnitude differently,using surface wave magnitude,ms,at *** of Jan.10,a total of 126 people were confirmed dead,another 188 injured,and about 61 500 people displaced from their *** region is currently being shaken by thousands of aftershocks,which are likely to continue for weeks or *** than 14 000 search and rescue personnel have been deployed to the epicentral region.

Naphthenic acids,NAs,are a major contaminant of concern and a focus of much research around remediation of oil sand process affected waters,*** activated carbon adsorbents are an attractive option given their low cost of fabrication and implementation.A deeper evaluation of the effect NA structural differences have on uptake affinity is *** we provide an in-depth exploration of NA adsorption including many more model NA species than have been assessed previously with evaluation of adsorption kinetics and isotherms at the relevant alkaline pH of OSPW using several different carbon adsorbents with pH buffering to simulate the behaviour of real *** for the NA varied considerably regardless of the activated carbon used,ranging from 350 mg/g to near zero highlighting recalcitrant *** equilibrium data was explored to identify structural features of these species and key physiochemical properties that influence *** found that certainNAwill be resistant to adsorptionwhen hydrophobic adsorbents are *** isotherm modelling helped explore interactions occurring at the interface between NA and adsorbent *** identified the importance of NA hydrophobicity for activated carbon *** is also presented that indicates favorable hydrogen bonding between certain NA and surface site hydroxyl groups,demonstrating the importance of adsorbent surface functionality for NA *** research highlights the challenges associated with removing NAs from OSPW through adsorption and also identifies howadsorbent surface chemistry modification can be used to increase the removal efficiency of recalcitrant NA species.

A series of Ni0.6-x/2Zn0.4-x/2SnxFe2O4(x = 0.0, 0.05, 0.1, 0.15, 0.2, and 0.3)(NZSFO) ferrite composities have been synthesized from nano powders using a standard solid state reaction technique. The spinel cubic structure of the investigated samples has been confirmed by x-ray diffraction(XRD). The magnetic properties such as saturation magnetization(ms),remanent magnetization(mr), coercive field(Hc), and Bohr magneton(μ) are calculated from the hysteresis loops. The value of msis found to decrease with increasing Sn content in the samples. This change is successfully explained by the variation of A-B interaction strength due to Sn substitution in different sites. The compositional stability and quality of the prepared ferrite composites have also been endorsed by the fairly constant initial permeability(μ’) over a wide range of frequency. The decreasing trend of μ’ with increasing Sn content has been observed. Curie temperature TChas been found to increase with the increase in Sn content. A wide spread frequency utility zone indicates that the NZSFO can be considered as a good candidate for use in broadband pulse transformers and wide band read-write heads for video recording. The composition of x = 0.05 shows unusual results and the possible reason is also mentioned with the established formalism.

The first problem considered in this article reads： is it possible to find upper estimates for the spanning tree congestion in bipartite graphs, which are better than those for general graphs？ it is proved that there exists a bipartite version of the known graph with spanning tree congestion of order n3/2, where n is the number of vertices. The second problem is to estimate spanning tree congestion of random graphs. it is proved that the standard model of random graphs cannot be used to find graphs whose spanning tree congestion has order greater than n3/2.
